They all look so fresh and awake in 1947~in 2022 I fly and i come off the plane looking like death!!
The woman in the front of the outrigger at the very end definitely won that wet t-shirt contest...
👍🤙🏼
I certainly got a Diamond Head…
I always wonder what some of the people in these videos are doing now. Unfortunately for most of these folks it is Rest in Peace. That being said, the baby on the plane should be about 76!
I think the same way
Since the aircraft shown is a DC-4, I wonder if the footage was shot in 1946, just before the introduction of the DC-6. Also note that at this time the naval base at Pearl Harbor was not a tourist attraction as there was no Arizona memorial or visitors' center then. This is a fascinating travelogue. Thanks for posting it!
Boy....Air Service was nice back then" 🦅
👍👍
17 years before I was born
A flight from LA to Honolulu took 11 hours, but the return flight took only 9 hours. Perhaps it was 9 and 7, I forgot.
Takes us 5 hours from Victoria BC 🌴🤙🏼🌺
11:20 - I'm pretty sure that's Kailua Beach on the east side, not Waikiki
Good eye! I live in Kailua. That’s the Kaneohe Marne Corps Base offshore in the background. From the angle, Definitely windward near kailua.
Narrated by Ken Roberts.
