Some time ago back in the old days of Turkish occupation.
Young Gianco married a young girl in the village. The Turks passed through this village 3 days later.
The Turks grabbed several persons including Gianco and force them into slavery and bondage.
The Turks pressed them to do hard labor for twenty years. Gianco escaped somehow and travelled back to his village.
He went back to where his family lived and labored. There Gianco met an old man and his horse. The old man was Giancos father but a Gianco did not recognize him neither did the old man recognize his son.
But the horse recognized Gianco because that was Giancos horse he road as a young man.
The old man casually mention there was a wedding today in the village. Gianco asked who getting married and the old said a name which Gianco recognized as his wife.
Gianco went hurriedly to the church to get there in time. But the horse followed him to the church as well. So Giancograbs the horse
And rides him to the church. When the woman saw the horse she exclaimed
That is my Gianco coming back to me
So Gianco got there in time to stop the wedding and to renew his vows to the woman
The dance is in honor of the couple.

Μπορεί φυσικά να είχε συμβεί κιόλας, η ίσως μια παρόμοια
20 χρόνια σκλάβος των Τούρκων, μόλις στεφανώθηκε, τραγικό, τουλάχιστον είχε όμορφο τέλος!
