    Hey Coily Companions! Yesterday, on a rainy day, I decide to film the ENTIRE process of installing... I know... TWISTS on my natural hair!!! I'm starting my new regimen today, so I'll be keeping tabs on the way my hair is adapting. In the meantime, all it took was an hour. Already a huge benefit versus braids. But, it's too early to tell. Anyway, I hope the gems in the video added something valuable to your repertoire of natural hair knowledge! I look forward to seeing you guys in another livestream this December! we'll even be having a special guest! So keep an eye on the community posts. Have a happy belated-Thanksgiving and safe Black Friday!

      Secret ingredient: Love YOUR hair sis. At any level your hair is at, love your hair. Many people cut their hair short and it grows in no time. Why? They LOVE their hair. Like a plant. It doesn't matter how much nutrients or water you put into it, it won't grow without love. Love is part of caring for your hair. Be thankful you have hair that has potential to grow long and beautiful. Many people for various reasons don't have any strands. God bless you!

      Suggestion: Use distilled water. You can buy it in a near by store, put it in a water bottle and spray it in your hair everyday or so before you put in your leave in.
      I say distilled water because it’s best to stay away from hard water.

    Water! The key is water. They told us not to get our hair wet, but us 4c girlies MUST embrace the hydration. What's more hydrating then water? First mist your hair with water then use your leave in conditioner and oil at least every other day. Think of your hair like a plant and water, water, water! Do this even if you have a protective style and watch how much your hair grows. It's a must for healthy hair.

    I’ve been natural for 23 years and a natural hair stylist for 19 years (retired) the key to healthy long natural hair is contentment with what you have. Learn what it needs and do it. There is no secret formula because we all have different genetics. I have 4c hair( more like 4z) and what worked for me was leaving it alone and not trying to make it do what it’s not designed to do. And prayer!! Prayer was a game changer ❤

      I didn't have a choice because I was disillusioned with my relaxed hair and the black stylists who would relax it. I also wanted to travel by backpack so could haven't any unnecessary hair products or tools. I went to Madagascar with no shampoo or conditioner. Only an afro comb. to a remote resort with no salon. The black women from the North West of Madagascar were able to braid my 4c hair with no braiding gel or special tools. Just a comb and some coconut oil and I was still able to jump in the sea and those braids didn't frizz up or come loose. They thought I was from South Africa. That's why I tell everyone to go and visit and/or live in a black-majority country. It will soothe and heal your soul...Why do people think Obama went to Kenya? Why do they think Muhammad Ali and George Foreman went to the Congo? Why do they think Meghan Markle went to Nigeria and married a man who spent years living in Africa and visiting Africa?

    😂I started washing my hair more often now ..
    I used to wash my hair once every week now every day or 5 days out the week now. 🎉🎉🎉my growth is crazy... All this time and God finally opened my eyes to the truth.. more hydration.. bc the products we use on hair literally cover the pores in our scalp. Washing daily helps to let the hair grow out . Makes sense.. God bless you all❤

    Going natural alone doesn’t do much for length retention.
    1. Keep your ends oiled and buttered.
    2. Cleanse gently in sections with a gentle cleanser.
    4. Finger detangle.
    5. Keep hair stretched.
    6. Wear low-manipulation protective styles without added hair.
    7. No tight styles.
    8. Avoid hair ties.
    9. Sleep on silk or satin pillow cases.
    10. Avoid hair color.

      #5, #6, and #7 are most important, in my opinion. My hair is longer than bra strap length, and I’ve never worn a “wash-n-go” (I always do stretched styles = braid out or twist-out”); also, I’ve never worn wigs or braids with added hair. When not worn out, I wear my hair in my own version of mini-twists, which is 24-28 total twists- only using my own hair. Good luck, Ladies. You can indeed have long, healthy hair - Type 4 hair is beautiful (as is all curly/coily strands).

    I’ve been natural for about 9 years and I have 1 loc in the back of my head I started 9 years ago. The loc is all the way pass my bum while my other hair is only at my bra strap. I know that the loc is longer because locks don’t shed and retain all its length, but I just wish the rest of my hair would do the same.

    • @CoilyCode
      @CoilyCode  15 днів тому +9

      Awww wow!!! Yeah I think also that loc hair is so much stronger too. Imagine all the loose hair is a strand on its own. I think that’s why we try to emulate locs by putting in long term protective styles. Have you thought of combing out the back of your head?

    If your hair seems not be growing the issue is breakage. Hydtate you're hair really well and lock in the moisture worth an oil. I like to do a blend of regular castor oil, african shae butter and lock it in with blue magic. Braid you're hair in a protective style and dont touch your hair for a month or two. Make sure your ends are in good health. My hair is 4c waist length that's been my regimen for the last 2 yrs growing out my hair. Also green tea is wonderful growing the hair just drinking it regularly

    My hair stayed at shoulder length for a while, until I started moisturizing it twice a day. I always start my day wetting my hair and then layering leave in and oil, and then in the evening I once again oil my hair to strengthen it. I wash my hair once my scalp starts itching, which may be after a week or so. Just once though, so my hair doesn’t get stripped by the shampoo. Since I have high porosity hair, I use Greek yogurt every weekend as a protein treatment, and then always follow up with a deep conditioner. My split ends have reduced since starting this method. I got the idea from my fingernails, as I oil them 2-3 times a day, which keeps them strong and flexible. I always oil my hair 2 times a day now, and it has made it stronger and more flexible. I wet my hair daily in the shower to keep it hydrated. When I shampoo I since I only do it once, I do not rinse it out unless I’ve been massaging it into my scalp and hair for about 4 minutes so the shampoo can break up the buildup.

    I did the big chop last year, I cut the color out. It didn’t take long for my hair to get down my back. I incorporated ayvurdeic powders and oils. I make my own fenugreek/rosemary oil based in castor , grapeseed and olive oil. I make my own deep conditioner using Brahmi, moringa, hibiscus, shikakai, fenugreek and henna powders. I stretch the hair (either blow dry or Bantu knots) then put my hair in twists or braids add the leave and oil to my ends of my hair.then leave my hair alone for 2-3 weeks. I wear a 1/2 wig or head wrap to work. Once the weather warms up I wear my hair out from April/May-october. Soon as it gets cold o do this regimen. Put the hair away and only reapply moisture as needed (once a week) This has worked for me!

    So im in theory mode right now, but I believe what grows our hair isn't products. That is merely an aid to manageability. What grows our hair is health and more specifically technique. I also think there are rules that we can change and ones we must implement, like washing and conditioning, which is mandatory. Yet deciding between using moose or gel is temporary. I am, however, of the belief blow drying our once to twice a month can be helpful due to the lasting stretch. I think trimming should be every 6 - 8 months. Also, I think from water to product to oil, you have to experiment with amounts because it can become a speed bump in your journey.

    • @CoilyCode
      @CoilyCode  15 днів тому +1

      I agree! It’s really the manageability and handling of the hair that makes the most difference. I love stretching my hair with heat, because of that stretch. It is long term, at least if I’m not adding any gels to my hair. But your theory seems plausible.

    • @natasharules6737
      @natasharules6737 8 днів тому +4

      This is not theory. This is the truth. Products can only help retain length by helping avoid breakage. Even at that, our hair texture and type are different so not all products work the same for everyone

    • @blairwalker12
      @blairwalker12 8 днів тому +2

      @natasharules6737 I think that's why, after washing, perhaps every 2 weeks or so, we should use blow drying to encourage the stretch. As long as it's done correctly.

    With my hair, I learned that less is more. Using less products and manipulation created easy wash days which simplified things for me. My hair is so soft after doing green house effect on it. (Saturating it with water/aloe vera water, coating with oil of choice, putting a cap/bag, and then covering with a scarf for hours or overnight). I do that and it makes detangling, wash days or whatever easier.

    I remember the early days of my natural hair journey of spending all day or all weekend following other people's routine and becoming a product junkie. Not any more. I simply avoid shampoos with sulphates and parabens, keep my hair moisturised and protected from snags, being gentle with my hair and avoiding hairdressers who handle natural hair like they are raking hay or weed or are scissor - happy ( you take 3 steps forward and they take you 3 or 4 steps back).
    I trim as and when I find any straggly strands, bonnet to bed or satin pillowcase and take vitamins that I'm deficient in (eg zinc, iron, cod liver oil), avoid too much heat styling.
    I'm too lazy to journal about my hair journey, but do take pictures regularly to see where I have come from big chop to alopecia, constant hair loss to regrowing to longest it's been - bra strap length. To God alone be the glory 🙌🎉🙌

I remember how as a child my wash day consisted of washing, conditioning, greasing, and having plaits in my hair for a week until wash day again. I now do this weekly sometimes switching up my regime. Weekly I use savila and oil my scalp and use whipped shea butter and essential oils. Monthly I use greek yogurt and Ayurveda treatments. Great video Sis! There’s definitely balance needed between protecting our strands and wearing them out and enjoying the hard work, no matter the length. I know for me, I’ve only worn my hair out once in two years and that’s wild when I think about it! 😂😅BUT, I’ve been trying to nurse my hair from a setback in 2022 and then just see how much length I could retain with plaits, and now twists. Through the process, I’m relearning my hair, what products I can and can’t use, and what my ultimate goal is. I do plan on wearing my hair out at least once a month next year, if the Lord says the same.
    Another thing to consider is life changes. Moving to a different environment regarding weather, the quality of water, hormonal changes when having children or menopause, stress from unexpected events, the list goes on! 😅 Your hair looks healthy, and the length will come for all of us if we keep going, no matter how we change up our regimen. My trichologists who are black and female and deal with 80 black female hair loss clients 80 a week recommend wearing your own hair or a silk scarf if you are suffering with hair loss, alopecia or breakage. They don't advocate for wash and gos and afros daily ( unfortunately) as for most of us this either dries out the hair or has it damaged by the elements. They advocate daily moisture and steam and weekly shampoo and deep conditioner. They recommend, twists, finger coils, 2 or 3 french braids flat twists, french chignon or french roll but taking them down every week to remove the shed hair and build up, detangle and reduce tension and friction from the confined style.

    I wash my hair once a week but rinse it everyday. Sometimes every other day, and use a light oil afterwards to moisturise.
    Our hair needs regular hydration and oil (in this order). Shampoo is too drying, hence only weekly. If you have hard water, which is also drying, use vinegar to bring the pH lower.( ~ph5 or 6), Example a tablespoon in 400ml of water and use this as your rinse. Buy litmus paper off amazon test the ph of water.

    I keep my hair braided or I wear mini twists and while in the protective style, I moisturize with aloe Vera juice rosemary and fenugreek seeds that I put into a spray bottle. Then I coat my hair with Shea butter. But I make my own Shea butter by melting it down and added oils. Also, I probably should trim my hair but I actually stopped doing that

    • @CoilyCode

      Nice!! You’re the second person who mentioned making your own shea butter mix. I’m a tad traumatized by shea butter because it caused so much breakage. But, I’ve been researching other butters, and someone also mentioned a rare shea butter. I mean, shea butter did wonders for keeping my hair lubricated. I guess I’ll have to give it another shot.

    I notice what helped me reach longer lengths was cutting only split ends and protective styling with my hair. Mini twist for a couple months are a time while redoing each section every few weeks. I was able to watch my hair and 'early diagnosis' breakage. Since my postpartum depression my once almost waist length hair has split and broke off and I cut it to a neck length bob to salvage what I can. I already see a difference! Within 16 months my hair was waist length. My 2 year Hair Anniversary will be April 2025, and I will get my hair straightened (No Direct Heat) to see exactly how long my hair is. I think by then it will be touching the top of my butt. My hair is growing on average 1 inch per month, and I am retaining that length. I will be sharing exactly how I did this on my channel very soon. I am rebranding my channel to be monetize, that is why I deleted my old videos which were not original content. So my sister used to wash your hair like every 5 days because she heard washing your hair works more often especially for the European people someone suggested that to her and she did that for a while for a long time but she didn't like that routine then she switched to washing her hair every 3 weeks because that fit her better and she also Incorporated using aloe vera on her hair and avocado mask every time she washed her hair and then every two months she would do the apple cider vinegar rinse and her hair is down to her butt. And I've recently gone back to being natural I've done it a couple times but me personally I like short hair we have thick hair runs in our family my mother is a mixed woman from Trinidad and Tobago she's mixed with Venezuelan my father is a black American man but my hair type is type 4 while my sister who I mentioned earlier she is a type 3 girl personally I like to shave my hair every so often because I sweating my hair especially in the summertime I think my hair would probably be longer if I didn't cut it so much or shave my head off I just went natural 2022 and right now it's about shoulder length if I blow dried it straight I can't say that I'm looking for the longest hair if I'm going to be honest when my hair was the longest it's ever been I just put it in a ponytail I was never really creative with it

    • @CoilyCode
      @CoilyCode  15 днів тому +4

      See, if I had thick hair, I’m not sure if my sentiments for long hair would be the same 🤣. That is a whole other feat on its own. I do think there is a benefit to washing your hair often, but only if you’re doing wash n gos. To wash your hair everyday and have to style it would be counterproductive. However, my hair seems to achieve more length when I leave it alone. I don’t like having a dirty scalp so soon as I feel a persistent itch, that’s when I wash it. I notice it increases when I sweat.
      It’s actually refreshing to hear someone who isn’t aiming for length. As long as you’re learning your hair, that’s really all that matters.
      Thanks for sharing. My grandfather was from Trinidad & Tobago 😁😁😁

      @ I used water and Aussie conditioner as a leave in conditioner, although it was meant to be rinsed out. I had a wide tooth comb with a spray bottle at the end and I’d keep water in it to moisturize my hair periodically throughout the day. Over the years, I’ve used various drug store products like Afrosheen moisturizer or Eco Style gel and other things (depending on the city and climate, certain products worked or didn’t work). I’m 50 now and my regimen is S-curl gel, S-curl moisturizing spray, and olive oil. This combo gives me perfect curls without being too greasy.

      @@CoilyCode You’re welcome! I think that the UA-cam videos can be helpful, but at the same time, many women don’t realize that “natural” hair comes in many textures and that they can’t just follow some UA-camr’s regimen and expect their hair to look exactly the same. If your hair is type 4, you’re not going to have perfect “fall into place” curls like someone with type 2 or 3 hair. My hair with and without hair products looks like hair from two different people, LOL!
      Don’t get me started on the political BS on some channels and in the comments! I’ve heard people saying that defining your curls is “Eurocentric”. WTF is “Euro” about the hair growing out of a black woman’s head? If I didn’t define my curls, my hair would stick straight up like a Treasure Troll doll! I’ve also seen a lot of criticism of black women who have or want long hair. You’re a race traitor if you don’t want short hair. 🙄 I can’t stand people who act like you’re not authentically black unless your natural hair is worn in an Afro or locks!

    Anyway- if you are thinking about locs: I used yarn for faux locs (red heart with love yarn). Only did it a couple times between box braids- it retained water but stayed light. I feel like I owe that to why I was able to retain 5 more inches. I think it was having a period of letting my hair soak in water (like a plant) multiple times a week instead of using a butter/ moisturize. Helped me grow my hair, but also a good test to see if you want to get real locs!

    After 30 minutes to a hour I detangle my hair. When I wash my hair I use a small amount of head and shoulders only on my scalp.Then I use moisturizing shampoo on the legnth of my hair. Mostly I do protective styling mini twist, plaits, or braids that I do myself. I use a leave in detangler made with glycerin (shea moisture leave in detangler) then I seal with hair grease. Hey lady - Love your channel. I’m watching your video while cleaning and can see you are using the products but I also noticed you pull your hair quite a bit when you get to the front of your head. I know for me when I first went natural, my hair began to recede. Scared me to pieces. I now fall back on pulling AT ALL in the front and my hairline is like it was when I had a chemical. Not that my hair routine would benefit you, but here it is:
    - 100% Organic Jojoba Oil (I put fresh rosemary, 10 coffee beans, 30 whole dried Alma seeds in the bottle and let it sit for 2 months. Think cold press-ish). Once I’m reading to use it, I put some in a small dropper bottle and add 100% Organic Australian Tee Tree oil. For my scalp only
    - Water bottle with brewed Fenugreek seeds
    - Shea Moisture Kids Curling Buttercream (add 100% Organic Castor to the jar)
    I wash my hair almost weekly. Sometimes I use a clarifying shampoo on my mids and lengths only to prevent scalp damage. I do that before following up with a moisturizing shampoo (using my scalp massager) and then conditioner and deep conditioner, every wash. I never skip this step. I have high porosity, thick 4C hair, I need this protection. Depends on how my scalp has been feeling, I’ll put a small amount of Sulfur 8 on four parts in my hair and massage before I begin adding my products listed above. My hair is super dry. Like desert dry, so I moisturize every other day.
    Oh and now I’m watching another one of your videos while I type this extremely long comment and I see you’re using protein treatments. How is that going? Are you still using that with the clarifying shampoo? The scientific consensus is protein treatments are harmful ONLY FOR low porosity hair. How is that going?

    • @CoilyCode
      @CoilyCode  17 днів тому +7

      Are you a natural hair guru in disguise??? Totally here for your detailed routine! Thanks for sharing. Regarding the pulling at the front of my hair -I definitely aim to not add unnecessary tension, I promise you I was being gentle but taut. However you’re absolutely right. We don’t want to stress the tresses!
      As for the protein treatments, I haven’t been able to do them much due to life changes. But, as things are settling, I should get back to doing them more often. However, I didn’t experience an adverse reactions to it with my low-porosity hair. Science isn’t the gospel truth in my opinion. Some scientific insights are helpful, and others, I don’t give too much weight. I’ve seen low porosity naturals do fine with protein. It’s really a balancing act.
      Thanks again for watching and taking the time to share your routine and feedback! ♥️🌸🌺😍

    Put water in your hair often, keep it off your shoulders and minimal manipulation, and let it grow. I’ve gone from a baldie to tail bone length twice in 6 years. It actually is kinda simple. I wash my hair, deep condition, leave in, air dry, satin bonnet at night. Silk press maybe once every six months. Trim once every 6 months. Prenatal vitamins and lots of drinking water. One thing I wish Black women of all textures would realize is we need water/moisture in our hair. We need to keep our scalp clean and stop being scared to wash our hair. Also, many of us believe our hair is “strong” because it’s so tightly coiled. We yank and pull and put a lot of stress on it fighting its natural texture… In reality, the more tightly it is coiled the more fragile it is. Every place it spirals is a stress point for potential breakage. We gotta stop obsessing over our hair and having a fear mindset. It’s just hair… if we leave it alone and stop working against it it will grow.

      I use oil everyday on the ends, but I use grease as my sealant. Have you tried grease at all? Here are some tips I’ve used to help my low porosity absorb:
      1. Wash my hair with hot water (as hot as I can take it) once my cuticles feel open, I’ll turn down to warm
      2. Apply my leave in conditioner BEFORE I leave the shower. Then I put a plastic cap over my head (if I’m not blowdrying), until I’m ready to apply my stylers.
      3. You can also use a heating cap for whenever you apply products to help with absorption.
      4. Grease has been my go to in sealing in the moisture
      5. Also try using products with glycerin in it (or you can use glycerin itself, you just have to wash your hair more)
      Have you tried any of these?

    Your mini braids takedown video shows you with a rat tail comb in your hand. That comb is for straight hair not natural hair and it will definitely pull out all of your hair. Get a Wide tooth comb and either an Unbrush or Denman brush or finger detangle. Stick with the protective styles, keep your hair moisturized, find and use the products that work on your hair, pay attention to your ends, and wash day once a week. Before taking down ANY protective styles, use something with slip, like aloe, conditioner, or oil (this allows the comb, brush or fingers to guide smoothly through the hair which lessens breakage, the braid or twist to unravel faster, and detangling is easier). Use silk or satin bonnets to sleep in and get a microfiber towel for your hair. Stay away from anything cotton. I hope this helps. The ends of your hair in video look very happy so you’re on the right track.

      @kovarcoley 8 днів тому

      @@CoilyCode it's waist length now the longest it's ever been. I put in the protein treatment and steam the hair for an hour. It's a salon steamer that cost me $300 😢 but it's worth it cause these stylists are charging too much. It's a hair protein called jherri Redding it was used in the 1980s to strengthen hair when doing jherri curls you may find some old videos on UA-cam. I mix a teaspoon of it with Africas best hair mayonnaise (has to be this brand the others aren't good). It makes your hair soft and fluffy like a cloud and I also mix in 2 table spoons of Jamaican black castor oil (this strengthens the strands) steam it then rinse with cold water. I'm Jamaican and my old school stylist put me on this routine before she retired. My cousin who has never been able to grow her hair past ear length used this routine and in less than a year she was at bra strap I couldn't believe it. Also to note I put my hair into two strand twists each time as a protective style with the ends greased and tucked away, after I deep condition and moisture I LEAVE IT ALONE. This is the key. Had 6 inches of growth in 6 months. Also taking MSM capsules and biotin with drinking a lot of water daily eating fruits and vegetables will nourish your hair from the inside. The only sad thing is that I'm in the US right now and I can't get my hands on the jherri Redding online. When I go back home to Jamaica to visit my mom I'll try to see if I can find it at a beauty supply down there.

If someone took the time to actually try to detangle that then you would see the true length of the hair. Some women just have short growth phases. I’m a licensed cos, and you can see in small children how every individual has a different growth rate and phase. My hair is 17inches and my child’s is almost 30inches, while my mother and sister have never had more than shoulder length. A great regimen with low tension and low manipulation is great, but if your growth phase is short, it is what it is.

    • @CoilyCode
      @CoilyCode  15 днів тому +1

      This may be true, but no one really ever knows. No one has studied human hair growth speed to the extent that this is definite. A lot of growth has to do with lifestyle, genetics, and haircare practices, variables that have not been considered when discussing hair growth phases.
      But at least for me, when I sum up all of my habits and seasons of this journey, my length is only because of mismanaging my time. That’s evident by the years of documentation I’ve done on my hair. My hair would’ve been past my waist if I had been focused and knew what to do in 2017.
      I guess if you’re happy with that, than I can’t say anything to change it. Thank you for sharing your wisdom!

    • @aielianna
      @aielianna 15 днів тому +2

      I feel like this is backed by the fact that some people do not take care of their hair at all and it still grows long. In my opinion if you have resilient hair coupled with a long growth phase then you have won the jackpot. People with long hair don’t have to do anything in order to obtain it cause most likely their hair will grow long regardless of the conditions. That’s why I feel like people shouldn’t be trying to do the most to get long hair. If it’s healthy but it’s not long, so be it 🤷🏾‍♀️

      @ I am struggling with patience. I am not good at styling my hair it is short but long enough to two strand twist . I had locs for eights and I have been trying to re learn my hair . I suppose I need to listen to my hair and scalp ie when to wash it when ti it it needs moisturizer or protein

    • @CoilyCode
      @CoilyCode  14 днів тому +1

      I’d just keep it super simple. Since twists remind me of locs, just two strand twist your hair or braid, which ever you’re able to do, and wash it when your hair and scalp gets dirty. And you’ll figure out the frequency by observing your hair and scalp. Most naturals have a schedule, like once a week, once a month etc. I wash whenever my hair gets dirty or scalp starts getting unbearably itchy.
      If two weeks doesn’t work for you, then that’s okay. There really are no rules to taking care of your own hair. Ppl like to wait a long time before washing because that’s less manipulation on your hair strands. But, you can still wash it as often as you need to in order to maintain moisture and a clean scalp. No rules :) you just have to learn your hair as you say. And maybe you’ll need to style it more often in order to do that. OR you can buy a mannequin head with natural hair and practice on it.
      In terms of patience, that’s going to take time. Patience comes from struggling to wait. You don’t develop patience unless you need to have patience. So when you get impatient, you need to remind yourself of your goals, what do you ultimately want, and what’s the sacrifice you’re willing to make. Hair doesn’t grow overnight, but with time, you’ll see the growth. 😊

    Nice to see that you’re trying twists again. I’ve been doing twist for while now. I wish I could remember the UA-camr’s name who inspired me to do twists. Twists doesn’t last long like braids but I don’t mind because I want to refresh my hair about every two weeks. And because twists doesn’t take long to do it’s usually not a big deal. Plus if I want to take it out to wear as a twist out for a nicer outing I can. I would suggest when you first do it to try to stretch it. That’s what that nugget that UA-camr taught me. While it’s damp I encourage it to dry stretched. It lessens the tangles. 💗💗❤️💗❤️. Perhaps flexi rods or rollers or even Bantu knots. I put mine in Bantu knots or a bun.

      It’s not the wigs that’s growing the hair. It’s just the minimal manipulation. Ive worn wigs for years. I don’t think a woman has to wear another woman’s hair or synthetic hair to grow. It’s just leaving the hair alone as much as possible without sacrificing the health of the scalp.

      @@CoilyCodethis is true. I wore wigs for months and yes my hair grew, but when I stopped, I noticed I had given myself traction alopecia from the friction, wig caps, wig combs that hold the wig in place as well as adhesives. Long hair is kind of irrelevant with no edges

      I wouldn’t say long hair is irrelevant without edges 🤣🤣🤣 but, I suffered breakage from wear wigs (with glue) for years and I finally got my hairline back growing again. I would like for it to fill out a little more but if it doesn’t, I’m alright with it.

    Mielle has been all over the media for causing breakage and hairloss. Stop using that stuff. Also... I don't have your hair texture but I think it might be worth the cheap price to try the Garnier Sleek and Shine line. It saved my severely damaged hair. I don't think women with 4C hair are trying it because it's not marketed as being for curly hair. Personally I feel like it blows every other expensive product out of the market. If you try the shampoo and conditioner let me know how it goes. I think it might do miracles for 4C hair.

      I just looked to see if there were any reviews. Look up the video 'Finally Trying Fortifying Shampoo & Conditioner By Garnier Sleek & Shine | CoralineJonesx'... when she says she doesn't want to use any other products after trying Sleek and Shine (!!!!) that is how I feel too. That line is going to put everyone out of business.

    Scalp massage twice per day with a tool, NOO shelf products except for shampoo, make oil blend (coco,castor, teatree or olive) hair needs to be stretched consistenly but not too much twist or braids, use satin scrunchie to band the hair or make ponytail or pigtails, scalp should never be consistelny wet (fungus) only ends of hair need wetting, unless wash day, do not air dry scalp use blow dryer on cool setting, lower radiation exposure from tv cellphone & computer
