@@TechMishka I bought it and I find the vibration quite weak. It is almost imperceptible both in the pocket and on the table. And if you have the protective case it is worse. Can it be that the device is like that or the one I bought is defective and I have to return it?
@@TechMishka Well you have 3 modes - 1.color mode (not really using it), 2.ebook mode (this one I use, because it's snappier than the 3rd one and it's going to make you to focus on reading), 3.Max Ink Mode (it's a more agressive way to get into reading, also black and white and with a extended battery life). As I mentioned I'm using the 2nd option, so no color! In color mode it's different from normal phones, it's more pleasant for the eyes, I like it. It's awesome to read on it and to listen audio books or podcasts. I read news, books on it and listen to music, podcasts and audio books. Overall a great device, I like it, it's a Boox Palma on steroids, I have abandoned my Palma for this one, better overall!
@@binderrobert4909 Hi, I'm still deciding to buy this one. I'd like to know if the display is truely much different than the classic smartphone display? And the Max Ink Mode it really feels like e-ink display or not quite the same? I would much appreciate your help.
@@anahmaied458 Hello! The Colour Paper Mode is like a normal phone, maybe not that bright, the Ink Paper Mode is a greyish-toned monochrome display mode, I use this most of the time. The last option is the Max Ink Mode - mostly the same with the Ink Paper Mode with a limited app functionality, but the same as the Ink Paper Mode, but with incrased battery life! Buy the phone if you use it as a secondary one or you want something for reading and digital detox! A great device! Some of my ideas on this one posted on gsmarena, review section: -- I bought this phone as my secondary device, opting for the Pro version because it offers double the storage and a 32MP selfie camera-well worth the extra 25 bucks. Previously, I was using a Boox Palma primarily for reading. While it was good, two things annoyed me: 1.The lack of a SIM card. I think having a SIM card would have made it much more versatile as a secondary phone. 2.The lack of a color screen on the Palma. I read magazines and newspapers, and having color makes a big difference and is much appreciated. The screen on this TCL device is what attracted me the most, and it’s fantastic! Having the option to switch between color (without the eye-straining brightness) and black-and-white (eBook reader style) is great. The battery life is superb-it easily lasts a week for me. The camera is functional; I mainly use it for scanning documents, and for that, it works perfectly. The sound quality is mediocre, but when using headphones, it’s excellent. I use it for music and podcasts without any issues. Overall, I like this phone (it has a very good and robust built quality) and would recommend it as a secondary device for someone with basic needs who doesn’t prioritize the camera or high performance. It’s also a great option for anyone looking for a reading device that goes beyond what the Boox Palma or Palma 2 offers. It’s a snappy device with a smooth experience, an awesome screen, and a solid battery that keeps it running for a week! Awesome value for the money! --
1 no one needs monstrouos cameras except few bloggers 2 games and videos are not so important so you can be in e-ink mode almost every time 3 I hate everyday charging, so neglecting some videos in social media is acceptable price for week without charging
@@TechMishka it's not bad at all! I put a screen protector on it so its kinda defeating the purpose of the "paper like feel" but I honestly have no complaints 👍🏾
Thank you! Great video! How is it for reading maps outdoors? I have heard it's bad for that. I cycle and use my phone as a sat nav. Otherwise very interested for reading and also the microsoft tools look useful! Thanks!
@TechMishka thank you! It is more for using navigation on Google maps so would be the regular map view and turn right in 200m type thing!;I wondered if the extra brightness mode would help.
Also the advertising on this phone is sketchy as hell. Seriously it says nxtpaper 3.0 is DC dimming nothing to do with pwm. I am still clearly sensitive to any pwm and only LCD phone with no pwm seem to be ok for me sadly. The thing is most high end phones use OLED and pwm 😢
If Apple or Xiaomi make this it would be all over the place and called the next big innovation. TCL made this and nobody notice 😅
Maybe you are right. But TCL have all of a sudden become a huge brand about TVs. And theyseem to design some pretty interesting smartphones.

I really wanted a smartphone like that.
Was about time to see this tech evolving. 👍🏼
I allready gave this phone a shot, as my secondary phone and reading device, it's awesome!
Oh great! So how does it feel about reading thus far? Do you use the color mode or the basic one?

Brother, your voice is attractive, and your presentation is fantastic!!
Thank you kindly!
I'm gonna get this as a secondary device. I've never used a tcl phone before. Guess, I will love ❤️ this.
Would be great to see how you feel about it once you get it.

Sounds fair!
I have the 50 xe nxtpaper and it's a pretty decent phone. I get a lot of processor stuttering but that's to be expected at the price point 👍🏾
Thanks for sharing this! How do you like the display thus far?

What about screen protection? Would it be scratched using it right from the box after some time?
Hey man, i've had this phone for about 3 months, and it doesn't have a scratch, even after using the stylus, and letting it drop, hope it helps!
@theweirduckster I already ordered Tecno pova 6 neo. But thank u. 🙂
Surviving drops? This is nice!

Maps with the NXTPAPER mode do not come along that well, especially these that are satellite maps that don't have paths or streets.

Hey QQ 🙂
When you turn Ink Mode On - can you inverse the colors? Black background and white letters/lines?
Couldn't find such an option.
@@TechMishka Thanks for checking :) I really like the Ink display gimmick. Your video gave me a pretty good idea of how the phone handles. Thank you!
Great smartphone for a great price it’s great reading on this phone. Better than every minimal smartphone
👍
Could of swore it was marketed as using dc dimming and no pwm at all.
Hmmm 🧐
Maybe their Tablet or other non Nxtpaper phone
I got it and it sucks for my eyes so returning it.

I decided to get the Apple Watch series 4 instead if the Mi band 9
Sounds like a good plan. Enjoy using it 👍🏼
@ I will!

If 40 is available, 50 should arrive too. ♥️
I am in India.
How many stolen gift cards to buy this?
This doesn't sound right, mate
😂😂😂😂
Good luck trying to purchase this phone.
It is well available in some regions
It is available in Russia with 3-day delivery
Muito grande. Nada portátil .
Hopefully TCL will get more requests and release a smaller edition.
It's no bigger than most other phones
