Another good video. Although I do get a bit squeamish on spending mid $1k+ on a Seiko, I think this piece is well executed. And I love how you do the alternating variable light shots in your vids. You're the only one I've ever seen you that and I find it very helpful and enjoy it. 👍
The Seiko 5 Sports reissue did not disappoint and I bought it after handling it in person, I think this might be the case as well for the Navigator Timer... Nice review as always!
Almost perfect watch for water sports and also is luxury style for business wear. Great movement with 72 hours power reserve. However; it lacks a signed crown, for such price category. Best regards from Egypt.
Thanks for this review! I am in love with the gray sunburst dial on the SLA017. The one on the SPB143 seems just a notch or two below in comparison (less dynamic). What do you think about dial of the SPB411 and the SLA017?
I just read the description on the german Seiko homepage: the case and the bracelet have a scratch-resistant coating. Everone only mentioned the Saphire glas, but not that there is a coating.
Seiko quality control has been amazing for me - I only buy from my trusted reputable AD or the GA boutique in London. Sure if you buy from some random grey market place it can be hit and miss.
Sorry but after 30 years they lost My custom. I still see new Seiko watches that pull My heart but My brain takes over to remind Me of the miss alignment on the bezels I've had and worse the crooked applied numerals. I sent three watches back to Seiko and they replaced two and the last replacement was faulty with a different problem. The third one I got a refund as I was truly sick of them.. I must say the watches in the video are gorgeous! Thanks for the video and Your perspective on the watches.
There should not be these problems but to avoid them you can buy them at the store so you can check before you buy or only buy one which has been manufactured in Japan.
Agree 100%. Seiko’s prices are ludicrous. This watch is $2,150 MSRP in Canada. That’s insane. I bought a Seiko SPB313 slim turtle last year (got it for 30% off from a local dealer) and the 6R35 is horrible. It was running g +40 spd. I tried demagnetizing it and now it runs -20 spd. Seiko has great designs, nice case finishing and great dials, but there are way too many quality control issues for the asking price. Seiko keeps increasing the prices but has done nothing to improve the quality of the movements (accuracy) or ensure better quality control (misalignment). I won’t be buying any mid-tier Seiko’s without a huge discount going forward.
I don't know if it was your camera or you're using some kind of filter applied to the video, the watch looks so cheap in this video comparing to other reviews videos on UA-cam...

Less dynamic is a good way to put it, more shades of grey vs. how the SLA017 has deeper streaks of almost black

I prefer the new seiko 5 ssk023, my price range. This is too expensive for 6r movement.
