this made me very mad when that man slapped the heck out of jesus. I was disappointed for what he did. but Jesus didn't deserve to be in that position,but he did what he had to do in order for us to be in paradise with him forever. like any other father would do for his children. so we're blessed to have a wonderful and powerful god. and nothing is impossible for him to do.
I agree, even "The Passion of the Christ" showed clearly that it was the Roman soldiers who scourged Our Lord and crowned Him with thorns whilst it was the Jews who maltreated Him before He was brought to Pilate. Anyway, both "The Life of Christ" and "The Passion of the Christ" reflect traditional Catholic theology.
