Honestly I know everyone is losing their minds but the tournament wasn't stolen 😏.. they gave the move a nerf already also a nerf to dragon stance, we all should leave sheeva alone. Let's try to stop complaining about it and work on whoooping the player that spams

@lemon grab That isn't what has been said here. Furthermore Mortal Kombat 11 is a pretty fun and a solid entry in the franchise. It does have some issues with balance but there isn't a fighting game that dosen't. Sheeva's Dragon Drop move is the main offender however and the majority of players feel it needs an adjustment.
@lemon grab MK11 is literally a party game, one of the worst games competitive wise, took the words out my mouth, the only game I know where no matter how much tech and knowledge I have, there’s so much scrub catered tools in this game where it doesn’t even matter if I’m skilled or not, a joke indeed

First of all I know he didn't actually win the tournament. That was a slip up on my part, but given that he got pretty far I'm gonna call it a personal win just because he was able to prove his point. Second of all, though I'm fairly casual as far as MK players go even I can tell that this game isn't exactly the best for a competitive platform. It plays fairly slow, which isn't necessarily a bad thing, but it's also lacking a lot of the variety that MKX had when it comes to the ways you could play each character. It's not a bad game, and I still play it quite often, but it certainly could be better.
I feel like before Titaniumtigerzz got DQ'd Sheeva was just a joke character he would play for a few rounds before switching back to Kotal. But after he got DQ'd, he dedicated himself to the stomps to make NRS look even worse.
It's a statement even without the banned variation name.

Just listen to the podcast he just did with mk reo and mk Tom Brady. He’s apparently a good player but he decided to troll in this tournament, but he was a sheeva main before this apparently. Also for the most part they agree that sheeva is garbage without the stomp but nrs needs to do something about it. Was literally just listening to the podcast last night funny enough lol

@@peterevans2854 or he's trying to draw attention to the problem with a character's special move that needs to be nerfed. Seriously, it's likely all he wants it for NRS to actually nerf Sheeva's stomp. It is similar to the pro For Honor player who used a Nobu exploit in a tourney held by Ubisoft and drew attention to it so badly that the devs said, on stream, that he is going to have to come up with new strats in future tourneys because the exploit won't be around anymore.

@@beastfulboy A character being somewhat beatable and not used at a 90% ratio of the playerbase online doesnt exclude them from being OP. A lot of people still use her with the primary intention of pissing people off. If she even has 25% or so of the playerbase using her, that's still a fuck-ton of people, bud. OP doesnt mean unstoppable, which peeps confuse a lot.

@@beastfulboy OP means just that. Overpowered. It doesn't collide with the meaning of 'Unstoppable' because then that's what it'd be called. It's still beatable, but has a very powerful tool in her kit that most characters don't. Said character is specifically used to tick people off. So many red-flags line up alongside what other fighting games consider OP characters.
It is OP, but not by your own definition you gave, because apparently there is a tier system to OP you have made that others don't know.

jade is also good with pole vault and sometimes kitana with her teleport or ground war

Maybe. In an interview, tigerzz(the guy in the vid) said they should make it an overhead that is plus on block. Id be down for that. It needs to be changed no doubt. It is currently broken.

Has anyone noticed how long MK takes to have significant changes in balancing? I mean, Jacqui since the first day of play, has been top5, and even after all the nerfs (which she only received 2 years later) she remains top 5, NRS takes more than 2 years to balance a character, and even then can not, type? No one's going to talk about it?

Who designed these moves? How could anyone possibly think that this would be "fun". The only reason everyone isn't playing Sheeva online is because its mind numbingly boring to play this way. Its easy wins online but its not fun.

That and also the volume of mind games you needed to commit to with this move at high level was way higher than most people were willing to deal with when noob stomping was just as possible with several other characters on the roster
Him getting that far is not all down to Sheeva, though that clearly is a great example of a pro knowing all they needed to know about a cheesy character and yeah, he accomplished the initial mission of highlighting it to NRS. Worse things have happened at Sea 😅😂

Normally I try to stay off of the nerf train, but something has to be done with that stomp. Make her stomp an overhead and remove the tracking. Problem solved, maybe?

Instead of all the frames and stuff, just make Dragon Drop an overhead. That way when she has the ground stomp she can have mix ups but otherwise she can't really spam.

I don't think this will achieve the goal of "getting NRS to make a change", there's numerous amounts of examples of cheese/exploitative moves/tactics in tourneys big and small but they rarely make changes that truly suffice.

@@MC24DB I have to agree with Spider-ant, I think MK11 is a pretty well balanced game. I don't really think that there's one broken character in this game, and the bottom tiers aren't really that bad maybe only robocop and Shao Kahn.
@@Twisted_Ozzy how can it be balanced with the vast gap between the bottom 5 and top 5 , Jacqui has a 9 frame mid yet can ignore neutral, Shoa and Skarlet can’t even use their main strings because they have huge gaps, not to mention the point system on Kustom moves.

They should give the stomp move a cooldown. If Overwatch can have cooldown on abilities, then maybe it's time MK implements it with OP moves, if they refuse to nerf or remove said moves.

Idc who it is, pro players r supposed to be high level skilled people. This sheeva spamming is disgusting. Titanium named he’s variation ydidnrsdothis so he’s not blind to the cheapness of this broken character and goes with it. It gets me that people blames NRS for this kind of characters and while they are to blame for making this available nobody ever forces someone to play a certain way. Mix it up like a pro. Not taking away from he’s skills because he was pro before sheeva but to see this in a tournament made it boring and disgusting.
That not true, pro players don’t have to mix anything up especially for NRS games. You really think I need to mix myself up with dead shot in injustice 2, you think I don’t need to spam with Cetrion in mk11, heck you think I need to play not abuse the game mechanics to win a tournament where I could possibly get money. That some real rose tinted glasses there, a pro player will do whatever they can to win.

The key to a good kombat game is balance between the playable characters. Sheevas stomp is an unique attack in the algorithm, it creates bad conflicts. Solution?
1. Add enough starting and/or recovery frames to lower its gameplay impact.
2. Change the concept, ex: the stomp is faster, but lands where it's triggered. Would be used at the end of a kombo attack to punish an enemy kounter attempt. Punishable if you expect it.

The stomp WAS only good on a casual level... then NRS buffed its hitbox and active frames with the Ultimate patch. That is why Sheeva was not a problem all year, until she suddenly was.
NRS's recent adjustment to the stomp ('added 2f to stomp offscreen') does nothing, because Sheeva can delay her stomp to any of 30 frames. You can avoid the no-delay and max-delay, you cannot avoid 30 different timings.
I just feel like that move should be an overhead. I dont know, give it a low option and then it becomes a 50/50, but becomes more easily avoidable than before. That way, the move won't be useless, but won't be broken, too.
I once encountered TitaniumTigerzz playing KOTH and he was such chill dude. There was a couple new to the game and he took his time to advice them and the rest of the lobby on how to get to play better, or how to use a certain character. At that time I did not know he was a pro, so I didn't realize I was being taught by a pro player. I have a big respect for him.

I've been having decent luck beating Stomp-Happy Sheevas with Frost, via her Air Icequake. Once her feet leave the ground, jump and do the input and the attack will almost never Land.

Geras,scorpion,sindel, like the list can go on for days about spammy characters it's how well her kit actually works she was already one of the better characters without the stomp
It's really funny cause Sheeva stomp there are a lot of counters to it just none of them are on the top teir meta characters so pros don't wanna bother even learning it. Like Terminator teleport, Johnny stunt double, or Baraka spine burst. Yet when the community was complaining about Cetrion, Liu Kang, or Joker at the top teir pros were out there defending it saying "just learn the match up" so now I say the same thing. :P hehe

Worst thing about Sheeva is that she messes up your inputs not the stomp itself. You dash forward and then the game thinks you’ve passed her then makes you into dash backwards and you get caught. The only thing that beats it is forward moving combos , but then she can just do it again because you can’t punish. They seriously need to increase the punishwindow on a missed stomp, this is just stupid

Just my way of nerfing Sheeva's stomp because honestly outside of stomp she's a pretty fair character
1. Regular Stomp only works as an anti air projectile move - Meaning let's say a Johnny player is trying to only zone Sheeva. She'll be able to use her stomp to land on Johnny as he throws his projectile to no avail
Stomp (Without using meter) cannot be delayed and lands exactly where the opponent's character was standing when Sheeva initiated the stomp
Stomp (With Meter usage) Can be delayed to trick up Sheeva's opponent
Stomp will also have a smaller hitbox so if the opponent just moves a few steps where they original stood when Sheeva initiated the stomp. They will miss the attack entirely unless Sheeva spends meter to delay it's timing

Sheeva's Dragon drop doesn't even need to be avoided if she can't even do it in the first place... Enter Shang Tsung with the Corpse Drop to stop her from going vertical and if she does using Tipping the Scales combo to punish or counter it (29% Krushing Blow btw) or you could punish/counter with Soul Steal since it's fast with a large area of effect, so it's great for interrupting almost any attack in the game.
But Sheeva's STILL a pain in the ass and Dragon Drop still needs to be nerfed!
Just make the damn dragon drop block on standing. It's complete BS.
That would make her drop completely useless, if i have to change the drop i would remove the delay instead that is what makes her drop so dangerous

Its tracking is what is the problem and the delay. Most of you think sheeva delay has a time frame, its dosent... when you release r2 she drops and how the hell do you avoid that?
One nice thing about Raiden is "Strom Cell" really helps when countering Sheeva's stomp. Didn't even think about that when I started playing him, but holy hell does it help a lot.
In the beginning the Fujin should have backdashed instead of forward dashing. Also I feel like people are treating this like he did nothing but stomp. He did other stuff too. Treating it like he did nothing but stomp makes titanium look like a bad player when he's clearly not.
Are you too simple to understand that dragondrop is constant pressure and threat. Doing any other move or string is literally a mixup that you have to deal with .

The reason I see nothing wrong with his style is because when you're in a pool full of pro players, they should have the skill to adjust to any situation, if they can't, then he just exposed a weakness those players have. This may look like spamming to some, but I guarantee all the losers in the tournament walked away learning something, and the next time they'll know how to counter it.

It’s not only good, it’s just not fun. No one likes just blatant guessing in fighting games, and Sheeva just turns it into 21 Questions with the press of a couple buttons without any setup required
I literally stopped playing MK11 because of how stupid online feels at times.
To be fair this player was really good. I've been playing some Sheeva's online and at first was struggling but once you learn what works for your character specifically to stop her it gets much easier. They should streamline it though so everyone either walks forward and backward to avoid it.

Does Baraka lose hard to Sheeva? If not, people should pick him up and use the spines attack. It catches her on the way down. Yeah she can delay it, but it helps the problem much more consistently than dashing or walking. If she doesn’t fall on you, or goes on the other side of you you get stand 3 which isn’t bad either.

Thing is mk players know the move is broken, the commentators do, the tournament players do. Nrs has had many opportunities to nerf the move and they haven't so now a player who made a name to call attention to the move and started spamming it to show them that the move was broken got banned for his name. They cut him out the tournament but they still didn't touch the move. So of course him coming back and still spamming that move is hilarious. Don't blame him blame the incompetent devs because every mk player has to deal with this not just the tournament players

I don’t play mk so I don’t claim to know what moves are broken, but after watching the video, I couldn’t help but notice the spam and think, if he can just jump out of the arena and decide whenever he wants to jump down, then that seems to be on the devs. Because either the move is really powerful, or he’s getting very lucky landing as many as he did. Personally, I think it’s a little of both.
