Holy crapoly! Andrew, from your "hands and voice" videos and your knowledge, I thought (unfortunately?) that you were much older than you apparently are! Thanks for all the consumable content!
True. But he’s wearing a Rolex as he speaks to you! 😂 I could listen to Roger all day & deeply admire his skill & perfectionism. I do feel his watch dial designs are too traditional though. Whilst I respect the pieces hugely, I’m not taken by the Roman numerals & case/lug shape, as example. No doubting the mastery of the movement underneath though! 👍🏻
If he can't afford the watches, but he sells the watches then he should sell them for less so he can afford one 😏 what a brilliant man though. I'm lucky enough to own a Seamaster. I feel that I have a bit of George Daniels brilliance in my watch and ergo a bit of Roger W Smith brilliance.
I find it funny that people are calling this a face reveal when the man has his own channel and you have been able to see his face for months on a weekly basis :) ANDREW MORGAN WATCHES is also super fun!
Do you imagine that one day you'll be doing things like this? I mean how lucky you have to be to be able to be that successful, that you can host an event like that in a very small niche like watches. Huge respect 👏👏
I didn't think I would watch the whole thing, but this was very interesting. It's such a nice change of pace to hear a humble expert discuss their field.
Commented on the other video as well. It was such a great event. I was fortunate enough to be there in person and Roger was so entertaining and informative. Great meeting other watch enthusiasts as well. More events please.
Being British, I could not be prouder to see that the legacy of horological excellence and innovation continues to this day. Living near Hull, I revel in delight knowing sea-fairing accuracy and visual data displays stem from the genius of local men. The intellect behind countless scientific and engineering marvels developed on our small isles has truly shaped the world, lest we never forget those pioneers and strive like them, to make the world a better place.
I looked on their website, and these Roger smith watches are on another level! The title is right, Rolex, PP, in fact all major watchmakers really have nothing on this level, from movement, to finishing, to innovation. If you are lucky enough to buy (and rich enough) one of these watches, you are a true watch guy.
Thank you Andrew & Roger. Fascinating insight to the industry we all love. As an Aussie,I have bought watches that have been manufactured here in Australia. They are built here from overseas components. Great to see Brits supporting their industry. We’ll done,Paul.
Tuned in to this hoping to finally find out what Andrew actually looked like. Disappointed to find he was being played by Benedict Cumberbatch and I still am non the wiser! 😂
This is face reveal day for me, so I can't really comment on anything else. I'm having my mind blown, face reveal, wild. You look much less tanned in real life than you did in my imagination.
I am glad you found out that the tirle is a disgrace and changed it to something a tad more dignified, when you're going to realise that click bait titles get you noob views and drive away watch enthusiasts??
The greatest living watchmaker talking for an hour (see the full talk under a properly respectful title - to Mr Smith and your audience), and you still felt it necessary to use Rolex and PP as clickbait in the title. This is truly the dumbest timeline.
I disagree. It attracts people who have only heard of the ‘mainstream’ brands and introduces them to Roger’s work (which blows the brands mentioned out of the water so it’s entirely true and not clickbait). Why wouldn’t we want more people to be educated about this? The long version is there for the people who are already aware of his work too - have you watched that one in full?
@@hullabamoo Using Rolex in the title of a video that has absolutely nothing to do with Rolex is the very definition of Clickbait. Clickbait advertises itself as one thing only to deliver something different in order to attract views from people who would not normally be interested. It is bait for people to click - the clue is in the name. This channel itself admitted that this was what it was doing to take advantage of the algorithm in a video last year, so yes, it very much is clickbait - by definition, admission and common usage. No comparison to Rolex or PP was offered, in fact there wasn't even a watch offered for comparison - referring to the subject of the video, Mr Smith, as "this" is just rude. As for watching the full version, it should be obvious from my original comment that I have watched it, but to clarify, yes, I watched it in toto. I have also watched several other Roger Smith videos and articles, and I have read his mentor's book from cover to cover... What's your point ?
The group of people who try to get the rich people out of depression and obsession by making expensive watches and also earning from it by a vast margin...

So, this is the face that belongs to the hands. He smiles too.

IS IT A ROLEX? 😮
@@mattilatvala4164 Yes. Explorer.
Listening to a living legend never gets old.
Big face reveal! What a handsome man

Are you coming to Detroit ?
That seems like possibly the worst city to host an event full of luxury watches, like hosting a butchers convention in the savannah
I loved this video! ❤
Northern Ireland watchmakers not welcome?
Rolex is riding on its hype but that only last so long. There are so many brands better in looks and movement.
I wish the British would stop apologising for being British and revel in their brilliance.
I wish you gave your comment more thought.
The Brits have always something to apologise for. As do we all. Keep it humble
Not after Biden's Ukraine
It wouldn't be very British to stop apologizing for being British
ua-cam.com/video/0UsGEyz_2rE/v-deo.html
so this is the face reveal?
He already did a face reveal a while back, search for "talking hands watches".
I've seen Roger before .
he has another channel, he's on cam all the time
was not expecting you to look like that
I find it funny that people are calling this a face reveal when the man has his own channel and you have been able to see his face for months on a weekly basis :)
ANDREW MORGAN WATCHES is also super fun!
Always delighted to see Watchfinder videos. 👏👏

25 minutes well spent. Great episode.
Andrew is very good on his feet and a great interviewer. Loved the content and the interview
Ironically the time seems to fly when I watch Roger Smith speak. Spellbinding.
Great vid, Andrew. I would like to see more of these.
Regards,
Chris
Now I want a Series 4...

We’ll done,Paul.
I could not find where to sign up for the NY event. Pls clarify
There is a link in the description. Just sign up with your email - I registered before this event and got the invite so can confirm that’s the way 😊
18 watches a year, pure hand made. How special 😍
I was hoping to see a microphone to represent Roger Smith. 🤪
Oh no it's a face reveal-warning!
Finally!! The owner of "the hands"!! Gorgeous interview. I enjoyed every sec of it.
He has his own channel. Andrew Morgan Watches.
Tuned in to this hoping to finally find out what Andrew actually looked like. Disappointed to find he was being played by Benedict Cumberbatch and I still am non the wiser! 😂
Roger Smith. LMAO. hahahahah. You must be kidding.
Dear Andrew
You are great human being.
Many thanks
Nizar
And where are "the hands"? Without them it's not the same...
NEXT: Brits invented the wheel
🎉
10:35 so the parts that he doesn't make are a lot of the parts that bring the watch to life. I'm quite surprised by this.
It feels so strange hearing a voice that's so familiar but seeing it come from a face that I've never seen before.
Great video. Nice to finally put a face to that microphone
This is face reveal day for me, so I can't really comment on anything else. I'm having my mind blown, face reveal, wild. You look much less tanned in real life than you did in my imagination.
????????
What? This isn’t about Orient?
Did I miss the watch?
That was absolutely brilliant.
Great interview! And I agree, a Roger Smith is far better than a Rolex
How much would a Roger Smith watch cost me then ?
Two legends in their own right. Thanks guys!
Fantastic content, and wow Roger Smith !!
Thanks for sharing. Anyone else thinks a wrist check with comments may have been interesting?.
10:50 I thought Seiko make everything in -house.
