haha I won a free-to-play league in high school and that took enough effort as he says. Afterward, I quit it. Literally a ton of time goes into trying to win the thing. I agree with Romey on this one.
Ditto. I figured out that sitting at a computer for 5 hours was not as important as trying to build social relationship. Now, I just stick to following football by just trying to keep up with stats and watching games.
I play FFB hevery 20 leauges and i have a wife and a full time job so call me what you want but i love it it's apart of a sport i love and for all you that say FFB is for people who have no life or can't play real life football thats all untrue becuase i got into FFB when i was 14 i started watching football at 18 months start playing football at the age of 5 and i do know alot about football so Jim Rome is not right and my videos was made on Sundays before the pergame shows.
haha. As did I. I just picked up DeAngelo Williams and he carried me to the end. ohhhhh so difficult Rome, so much time spent. He spends more time on this rant then it does to set up your team for a week .
"I have to worry about two shows everyday". HAHA. Rome is a tool. His job is so fuckin tough. Fantasy Football is fun, it takes 15 minutes at most a week to set up your team, especially in football. I take shits longer then it takes me to set up my fantasy team. Most people just like it cause it does keep it more interesting.
agree 100000000 percent.....i love to hear lame os sob how a chick won the leauge and they dont their roster all year and dont care either way. love it
@jshull8605 you've clearly never lived in Cali before, nor have you lived anywhere near the west coast lol P.S. i still thumbed up your 3yr old comment because you are ultimately right >.
Putting the work in trying to win the fantasy football league to me is much more constructive than trying to placate a western woman. Probably more attainable as well...........
Classic case of taking one person's actions and assume everyone else acts the same way. He's describing FF Stat Geek, and insisting that only stat geeks who pour hours and hours into FF ever win. Draft well and take a couple minutes scanning the waiver wire and you'll do fine. I'm not with Rome on this one.
Spoken like someon who doesn't play. Much of this is is not true. Much of Fantasy Football is luck. Winning doesn't make you a loser. And winning doesn't make you smarter than everyone else. But there is something to be said for winning. You did try and be the best, just like in any game. You know who the losers are? They are the ones who join and then don't play, or don't answer trade requests. Or don't keep up with their team. That is who the losers are.
So Jim, what you r saying is that I should play FF but purposely lose so you don't think I am a loser? Lol then what's the point of playing?? Besides in the 5 minutes it took you to rant, I could have already submitted my lineup for the week and be ready to go. Lol you act like it takes hours upon hours. I won my FF League last year without spending more than 10 minutes a week on FF.
Typical Rome take blasting a popular, if a little geeky, pastime. If anyone is insulted, just understand that Rome is an elfin little man who thrives on alienating people for amusement. That's his deal: sarcasm and calling people out to put them down brings him a greater sense of importance and keeps the listeners hooked because human nature is drawn to the confrontational. Every radio show uses this theme so don't take his knocks too seriously fantasy players! Keep having fun with the game!
I love Rome's take on lots of things but his insistence that you're a loser for winning FF clashes with his initial statement that he would play but he doesn't have the time and he's afraid of losing and being "rolled up" on by other managers. His statement that fear holds him back from competing is far worse than someone playing and winning it all against other competitive FF managers. You're a real loser if you let fear of losing hold you back from something you want to do.
2 Flaws with what he said. " If you play you're fine, if you win you're a loser" so we are suppose to play to lose? Also Jim Rome is making it sound like guys in Fantasy Football are on it 24/7... it takes me about 3-4 minutes a week to do it, you just re-just your benched players and your starters and if their is a player on waivers you try to pick him up. That is pretty much it, it doesn't take much time.
Rome advertising he doesn’t pay Alvin and J-Stew enough to play fantasy.
That’s how my guy got epic roles in South Park.
I agree with everything you said. Mix in some commas and periods though.... That is 1 LONG sentence!!
putz,
dont let them hate on you you're awesome.
Signed

I heard this shit live
makes me feel better after getting crushed in my league

i always just turn my lineup in on saturday
@jshull8605 2 questions. How much do you watch ESPN? Who are the scrubs you playing giving away free money?
Rome looks just like Rod Woodson.
@ggm888 Hell yea

"Message boards dating back to August..."
Out.
hey im the 2 time defending champ and im not a loser
If you listen, it's against "Fantasy Football Guy" and not the league itself.
Viva Jimicus Romicus

Someone has to win. Should the winner give the money to the poor?
War takes that step on my toes.

Fantasy football literally takes like five to ten minutes total a day to win sans Sunday. Silly rant by Rome.
lmao - "If you win your fantasy league, you're a loser."
Rome is one of the five and I am one of the other four!! Freakin Fantasy freaks, stop it!!! LOL
