      I like Jim as well,but he’s not very sympathetic when it comes to drug abuse,most ppl that haven’t been through drug abuse,wouldn’t get it and they mainly think it’s the individuals fault why they get addicted and drugs and they’re lives fall apart

    • @rmyoung87
      @rmyoung87 9 місяців тому +15

      @@matthewrowe578 Alternate take: some people have been around druggies most their lives and had their lives impacted for the worse, and don't feel like it's their responsibility to "get it". Yes, addiction and mental health issues are rough, but a lot of us have mental issues or other vices and don't (a) fuck our own lives up, nor (b) fuck other people over. You can say "i hope you get help and if I can assist I will" while saying "you need to take your second and third chances and learn some self responsibility". Taking drugs is a choice, letting them take over is a choice. I empathize it hard to escape, but you chose to go down that rabbit hole on our own accord and we're the ones trying to clean the mess up around you. It's extremely hard to sympathize with that.

    • @BainesMkII
      @BainesMkII 9 місяців тому +6

      @@rmyoung87I understand why someone might not want to help, or even see merit in helping. The difference is that Brian and Jim can come off as not understanding why anyone would want to help, or should want to help. Brian jokes that DDP is doing it for "free publicity". Jim says that if DDP (or anyone) is legitimately doing it out of compassion, then they should be helping kids instead.

      @rsb8380 9 місяців тому +4

      @@rmyoung87 Here, I get what you’re saying, and anybody who does stupid shit needs to own it and take responsibility, but as a former heroin addict, simply letting drugs take over and going down that rabbit hole is not a choice at all. Like, at fucking all. There is no choice about it and you’d never understand unless you were in it. And then, oh you’d understand. There is a choice in initially taking a substance but in my experience of hundreds of other addicts that curiosity and initial compulsion is always brought on by some mental issue/trauma etc.

At one point he was running around in the crowd, I had an aisle seat and he stopped right next to me to yell "F Off" and some other obscenities at Ricky and Juilan. I'll always cherish that moment, every time I see a Lahey quote somewhere I picture him saying it in that moment in that costume. He was a great man.

    The ironic thing about Bagwell's match in Washington with Booker T is the fact that Raw was in Atlanta the following week, and the reaction would have probably been different for that match.

    • @quentinkaasa47
      @quentinkaasa47 9 місяців тому +3

      Not ironic at all. Vince purposely did the match in Spokane to justify not going through with a proper invasion. It wouldn't have been worth buying out all of the expensive Turner Sports contracts for the over the hill talents who hadn't been drawing, while screwing over the rest of your roster.

      I have ran into Buff Bagwell a few times over the years at the LA fitness in Woodstock Georgia. I have never once seen him be anything but affable and warm and humble to people. One time, back in 2017 my girlfriend and I, who were regulars at the gym, broke up and I was completely devastated and Buff saw me and took the time to talk with me and gave me advice about getting over the heartache and keeping in the gym to keep your mind off of things. I know it sounds stupid and cheesy to people here probably but, man I was in a bad place and he showed a lot of kindness that afternoon to talk with me. From my experiences with him, he’s nothing but a stand-up dude.

    • @TheLokiBiz
      @TheLokiBiz 9 місяців тому

      I hope he's not 12 stepping them, and instead is using a recovery method with actual evidence behind it. The 12 step program is a cult - an explicitly christian program that courts are somehow allowed to force you into. Statistically, people in NA or AA are no more likely to get sober than people just going at it solo without the cult. That's not even getting into the fact that old timers sexually preying on vulnerable newcomers is such an established phenomenon it's got it's own nickname - "The 13th Step" (there's a great documentary on this phenomenon called "The 13th Step"). It's disgusting that a lot of people just take for granted that AA and NA are the only way forward for addicts - If it works for you, that's great - But there are secular options out there that more people should be aware of.

    Buff Bagwell, who started out in Georgia (I think either Georgia Championship Wrestling or Deep South Wrestling in the late 1980s), as Marcus Bagwell had the potential to be the next Sting type of babyface.
    Marcus Bagwell, before he went to the late Joe Pedicino's short lived Global Wrestling Federation in Dallas, Texas (in early to mid 1990s) and then to Ted Turner's World Champion Wrestling (in mid 1990s), in either Georgia Championship Wrestling and/or Deep South Wrestling, he feued with Steve "Brawler'" Lawler (the late Steve Gower).
    The refresh Jim Cornette's memory, the late Steve Gower's Steve "The Brawler" Lawler character, who was billed as "Anywhere Where He Wants To Be" was the "kayfabe" cousin of Pro Wrestling legend Jerry "The King" Lawler. The late Steve Gower competed in Georgia Championship Wrestling, Deep South Wrestling and the late Dusty Rhodes' Turnbuckle Championship Wrestling, which Turnbuckle Championship Wrestling was recently revived by Dusty Rhodes' daughter Tela Rhodes and AEW Executive QT Marshall.
    *A litle history of the Steve "The Brawler" Lawler character*
    Before the late Steve Gower had the "Steve The Brawler Lawler" character, in the mid 1980s, the late Steve Kyle also "Steve The Brawler" Lawler back in the 1970s.

    The thing that doesnt really get mentioned is who actually got Bagwell fired from the WWF. It was actually the Hardy Boys, when Buff picked a fight with Gregory Helms he didnt realise the backlash he was in for. Helms happened to be good friends with the Hardy Boys and had grown up with them, so they went and complained to Jim Ross and then Bagwell was let go.
