Actually met Bagwell when i worked at the airport here in New Orleans. Was when WrestleMania was last here. Basically spent 5 minutes reminiscing about the nWo days. Also met Jeff Jerrett and the Godfather. Good times.
What surprises me more than the shaving story is that there was an actual “reality” show called “Gigolos,” where the cast was filmed having sex with clients and Buff Bagwell took part in it. Also, those excuses for him participating… THE SHOW IS CALLED ‘GIGOLOS!’ OF COURSE THERE’S SEX INVOLVED!”
I’ve worked in SUD treatment field for 8 years, and while I certainly wish Bagwell luck in his sobriety, compassion fatigue is a very real thing that I’ve suffered from. Stories like this don’t help. If DDP is the real deal 12-stepping all these guys, I give him props cuz I have tried that and it gets old quick.
I hope he's not 12 stepping them, and instead is using a recovery method with actual evidence behind it. The 12 step program is a cult - an explicitly christian program that courts are somehow allowed to force you into. Statistically, people in NA or AA are no more likely to get sober than people just going at it solo without the cult. That's not even getting into the fact that old timers sexually preying on vulnerable newcomers is such an established phenomenon it's got it's own nickname - "The 13th Step" (there's a great documentary on this phenomenon called "The 13th Step"). It's disgusting that a lot of people just take for granted that AA and NA are the only way forward for addicts - If it works for you, that's great - But there are secular options out there that more people should be aware of.
@dolandarkxgrandayy6953 You're probably too young to remember, but Gigolo Jimmy Del Ray was to women back then what Pamela Anderson was to men, or Taylor Swift is to all of Hollywood today. A good ride.
Jim, you're the best in breaking it down and cutting through all the BS! Totally agree with your take on him. Always changed the channel anytime he came on.
Buff Bagwell, who started out in Georgia (I think either Georgia Championship Wrestling or Deep South Wrestling in the late 1980s), as Marcus Bagwell had the potential to be the next Sting type of babyface. Marcus Bagwell, before he went to the late Joe Pedicino's short lived Global Wrestling Federation in Dallas, Texas (in early to mid 1990s) and then to Ted Turner's World Champion Wrestling (in mid 1990s), in either Georgia Championship Wrestling and/or Deep South Wrestling, he feued with Steve "Brawler'" Lawler (the late Steve Gower). The refresh Jim Cornette's memory, the late Steve Gower's Steve "The Brawler" Lawler character, who was billed as "Anywhere Where He Wants To Be" was the "kayfabe" cousin of Pro Wrestling legend Jerry "The King" Lawler. The late Steve Gower competed in Georgia Championship Wrestling, Deep South Wrestling and the late Dusty Rhodes' Turnbuckle Championship Wrestling, which Turnbuckle Championship Wrestling was recently revived by Dusty Rhodes' daughter Tela Rhodes and AEW Executive QT Marshall. *A litle history of the Steve "The Brawler" Lawler character* Before the late Steve Gower had the "Steve The Brawler Lawler" character, in the mid 1980s, the late Steve Kyle also "Steve The Brawler" Lawler back in the 1970s.
The thing that doesnt really get mentioned is who actually got Bagwell fired from the WWF. It was actually the Hardy Boys, when Buff picked a fight with Gregory Helms he didnt realise the backlash he was in for. Helms happened to be good friends with the Hardy Boys and had grown up with them, so they went and complained to Jim Ross and then Bagwell was let go.
The takeaway is the DDP is an incredible human being for trying to help so many of our childhood heroes. A tale as old as time

Someone should send Ryan Reynolds all the Mint Mobile spots that Jim and Brian does. 😂😂😂😂🤣🤣🤣🤣😂😂😂
That trailer park boys reference was great Brian 🤣🤣🤣🤣
At 36:57 Corny did say 250 people, not 250 million, Mr. Last.
Without question, THE ONLY podcast/show where I look forward to the ads 😂
i think bischoff shaved his head cause CM punk returned to the WWE. it was something he bet conrad his hair if punk ever returned.
Yup exactly
.....that was a missed opportunity for a GOLDEN Manscape segway...
If nothing else, let's not forget that the blockbuster was an awesome finisher
And Buff was the Stuff.
And the girls, could in fact, not get enough
Hell yeah. A flipping neck breaker where the aggressor takes way harder of a bump than the person they are giving it too😂 tremendous
@@joshuagumpert8910 You could say that about half the moves ever performed
@@whatwelearned those half suck
That is the best 43 minutes on UA-cam this year 🎉🎉Pops to Brian for referencing Mr Lahey when referring to Buff in the Trailer Park 👋👋
The next celebrity rehab needs to have Jim as a guest therapist
Vince Russo only joined WCW in late 1999. He had nothing to do with Judy Bagwell being on TV in 1998.
can't believe after the ball shaving reenactment that they didn't Segway into a man scaped promo
I can't help but imagine Ryan Reynolds, hiding in the bushes near a Verizon cell tower with a few hundred feet of coaxial cable wrapped around his shoulder.
Based on his recent photos backstage at AEW, Scotty Riggs has gone back to being handsome again
Actually met Bagwell when i worked at the airport here in New Orleans. Was when WrestleMania was last here. Basically spent 5 minutes reminiscing about the nWo days. Also met Jeff Jerrett and the Godfather. Good times.
Not just a Southern thing Jimmy. We got toothless trash here in the Poconos of PA. They just so happened to get rich off fracking leases underground.
Don't forget the "Judy Bagwell on a forklift" match!🤣🤡
We can go through money like drunken sailors up North too…. 😂
Marcus Bagwell Lahey! That was a Trailer Park Boys reference for all you Yanks. That was one of the funniest things I’ve ever seen on this show!
How come buff and Marty Jennette never hooked up as a tag team 😅
I thought the buff episode was way better than I expected and was waiting for Jim and Brian's review for it even more lol
How the Bagwells didn't get their own reality tv show is beyond me.
It would have been on somewhere between Duck Dynasty and Chrisley Knows Best🤣🤣
We used to be a proper society that's why.
He was on a video game show in 94
i’m pretty sure jr has covered extensively why he personally fired bagwell you just had to sit through conman thompsons ads to hear it
Bless Buff’s heart. I enjoyed the guy. As An armchair wrestling fan he seemed good in the ring and in the Mike.
32:51 I'M MOWING THE AIR RANDY! I'M MOWING THE AIR! *Slams mower into the wall*
Funny that BAGWELL does not deny the “Judy bagwell called Jim Ross” story until after she passed away.
“Thanks Missy for getting this guy in the business.” 😂😂
"our lowest paid wrestler makes $100 grand a year---how would she know!🤣🤣
Bischoff lost a bet so had to shave his head lol
we just watched the nitro where judy does her first promo and i gotta say the live crowd was on fire for judy 😂
Missy looked disgusting in this😂
Sure does. She looks a hot mess.
Just Jim's review of this episode was a wild ride from start to finish... gotta watch the actual episode now after hearing this LOL
Gigolo Jimmy Del Ray has worked in the WWE longer than Gigolo Buff Bagwell. And more successful.
He was also better looking.
I love that Jimmy's gimmick of being a sexy man was a meant to be ironic because he was highly cretenious
@desisdosis473
Deuce Bigalow taught him everything he knows.
Bam Bam would be so proud of his son.
@dolandarkxgrandayy6953
You're probably too young to remember, but Gigolo Jimmy Del Ray was to women back then
what Pamela Anderson was to men, or Taylor Swift is to all of Hollywood today. A good ride.
R.I.P. to Giggalo Jimmy
Best podcast ever! I literally laughed out loud when Jim said "and the whole Hee Haw gang!"
Still waiting on Cornette to hear his thoughts on the iron claw
Right?! That would be great. Solomonster did a really good review of it.
The sissy is too scared to watch it in the theater!
Uncle Jim story telling is a world treasure lol. The details and story telling. Also his animation is hilarious lol 😂
The story was crazy even before his career began.
Jim, you're the best in breaking it down and cutting through all the BS! Totally agree with your take on him. Always changed the channel anytime he came on.
His mother shaving his balls had me in tears 😂😂😂😂.
*A litle history of the Steve "The Brawler" Lawler character*
Before the late Steve Gower had the "Steve The Brawler Lawler" character, in the mid 1980s, the late Steve Kyle also "Steve The Brawler" Lawler back in the 1970s.
You don't know that for a fact.
They need to hire Bagwell to play Theory's estranged Dad, who's come back to coach his kid to greatness 😂😂😂
