This was actually a great review! I thought i was going to be done listening in less than a minute but i was wrong, You have an entertaining and great personality. Good job and awesome fridge! 👍
I don't understand why you have so many downvotes. Your review of this fridge showcases all the features I was curious about. Thanks for the video, this fridge is getting delivered to me in a few days.
how's the LG frig holding up? still working? I read quiet number of negative feedbacks about LG Frig,,,like 5 years broken compressor, running and not cooling...well I was about getting the counter depth LG Instaview ..just checking how this LG frig's holding up after 3 years :) In the Craft ice maker, there is a button to turn on/off the craft ice and I was reading people asking how to turn off the craft ice maker LoL !!! hahaha
It's going great! I replaced the main ice maker in the door, and have turned off the craft ice maker since it needs replacement, too. Our water is very hard here in Phoenix, so the plastic trays get calcium buildup and the cubes don't slide out correctly any longer. The craft ice is fantastic, but we didn't replace that ice maker since we all go through ice VERY fast. I use two ice cube trays in the slim shelf in the freezer.
I love your energy and enthusiasm! I just purchased this fridge on Costco online. I needed to see a video on it. Keep up the good work! Excellent video, thank you for sharing!
I am a huge fan! I was told by an appliance repair guy who has spent two decades in the business that if it's going to go bad, it is usually in the first 12-18 months. We're almost a year in and it's awesome!
I’m aware there are only 3 molds on the LG craft ice maker. But there is supposed to be a way to make them faster by doubling the output in the same period of time. But the cubes aren’t as clear.
We have LG LRMDC2306S. During first month we’ve had 4 service visits for craft ice maker not working. Each service call reveals the water feed line to the ice maker is frozen solid although the freezer temp is set at +4F. We added two thermometers into the freezer that log temp and they both show 4F so temp sensor is good. Does the craft ice maker line have a heater/defrost? Latest tech wants to switch out water feed line but by this point we have zero confidence LG know how to build a fridge.
I love how excited you were and hope I'm the same after spending 3k on a fridge, but I died when I saw what you were trying to do and then said "oh this was a mistake" hahaha... great vid.
Awesome video. That door handle on the door got me nervous that will shatter the knock knock glass. You might want to put a sticker silicon bumper on your door handle.
Any issues with the craft ice 10 months later? I'm buying the fridge and craft ice and your review here and on the home depot website are part of the reason. I've been reading about the many issues people are having with the craft ice. Like the machine not making any or only making half-round. Is it still going strong? Thanks
It locks the controls. The doors will always be able to opened, regardless of the lock being activated, which turns off the in-door water and ice dispenser so you can clean them.
Says it can take 36-48 hours for initial batch to produce. I'm sure you probably figured that out already since it's a year later but wanted to mention for anyone else wondering lol.
How are the craft ice balls now? We got ours Wednesday. First couple batches so far have the fog at the end and the divet or gap on one side. Did yours finally clear up and round out? Thanks! Great review video!
Thank you! New water filter and air filter today--coming up on 12 months in another two weeks, so stopped into Home Depot. Good for another six months!
@@landobando392 it will take 6 months to fill the tray...I just replaced my LG that had the two ice makers and it made lots of ice...I don't care about spheres...I want plenty of ice.
Idk how but I managed to get one of these exact fridges from Lowe’s in Dallas TX that was assigned in the system to be a floor model but never made it to the floor. Got it for $1300 🧐 in factory wrap. Only problem I noticed if the craft ice has a salty taste to it???
Nice, it does look very bulky though, and dangerously close to that door knob next to the fridge. I fear an accident opening that fridge door too fast and crashing into the knob
Wow, great walkthrough video! The enthusiasm is great. I am hesitantly hopeful that my new LG will bring me the same enjoyment. Forgive me for asking, but how do you have leftover yogurt from a 4oz portion?
Leftovers with kids is a whole new game! They absolutely level-up the leftover game; "Dad, I'm going to save this for later," puts a half-eaten sandwich quarter in a bag...not a joke. Kids are great!
Nope, it has never been completely round. I thought it would get round, but mine has always had a flat top and bottom, which is super-handy to keep them from rolling around all willy nilly.
Mines coming next week and I cant wait!!!! BTW Thank you for such a fun and exciting video on the fridge!! Only us dads geek out about our fridge with perfect Whiskey ice eh!?!?! LOL
My craft ice maker took early retirement. I didn't get it fixed since our family of six goes through ice like crazy, so I'm supplementing with a few ice trays in the shallow drawer.
After a couple of batches, the craft ice still comes out with a flat spot like in the video. Not sure how long I should be waiting. Does anyone else have a similar problem or found a way around it?
Bought mine in June 2020 and didnt receive it until Jan this yr (thnx COVID). I have the same results as well with the somewhat cloudy bottom and the flat top on the round ice. I think the flat top may have to do with specs saying water pressure on you water line should be at least 20 psi to ensure enough water is getting to the mold. I don't know how to measure what my pressure is but water seems to come out pretty fast in the door.
This is counter depth, but not pushed back all the way. It is 7.5" from the wall, which explains the 7.5 inches in front of the counter. Our home was built in 1978, and I should have move the water supply line when we remodeled the house but just didn't get it done before we had to move in. Next time I have one of these walls open, I'll move it to the full-depth wall to the right of the fridge. The wall behind it is furred out only 1.5", so a proper supply box doesn't fit. Sorry, long answer--no, mine is not pushed all the way back, and it would look far nicer if it were.
Best demo video ever! ha ha, fun. Thanks Dave, for proving this fridge is magnetic (so funny when you say "sadly yes," then show us the many magnets your kids put all over the front of it. But there's so many conflicting answers on reviews and info it's good to know it IS magnetic--at lease enough for those little magnets, not sure if it would hold those 9" magnetic shelves though. Love that tap see-thru window feature! I was leaning on the Samsung RF22R7351SR Counter Depth, but MANY complains about their ice maker so that lead me to LG which you've confirmed makes ice fantastic! Your video helped me move the LG Model # LRFVC2406S to our no. 1 spot. Still have a few more to check out.
Hi Dave. How is your craft ice maker working? This fridge has been a nightmare for me. 7 repair attempts and my craft ice maker still isn't working. Even when it worked, the balls have large dimples on each end. They don't show that in the commercials. They replaced the water line and the icemaker itself, then the control board. It works for one cycle, then stops. I hope you are having better luck.
Wow, Mike, that's terrible! My balls have dimples (gotta laugh at that...) but no one seems to mind. It just keeps making the craft ice. I have a winner, for sure. I cannot imagine what would kill it after just one cycle. We have not turned ours off, ever. My kids would protest loudly if our ice maker quit making ice balls.
@@RF-fr7jl The door was damaged in shipment but I accepted delivery anyway. Everything worked at that time. A week later the repairman installed a new door (the one with the ice maker) and the icemaker developed a squeal. He replaced the auger motor and that fixed it. Two weeks later a water leak flooded the floor. He replaced the water line going to the lower craft ice maker. The craft ice maker stopped working after that. He replaced the craft ice maker. Did not fix the problem. He replaced the control board. Did not fix the problem. I got the fridge in November 2019. It's now the end of August! UPDATE: A week ago, the craft ice maker started working again. LG has agreed to replace the fridge, but I don't know when. COVID is holding things up. BTW. The LG ads would have you believe that the craft ice balls are perfectly round and clear. THEY ARE NOT! The north and south poles have large craters in them and one side is not clear. Other than that, I love the fridge. lots of room. I find the door in a door useful for milk and soda. The upper ice maker works well. I would buy it again. I hope they improve the craft ice.
p.s. also noticed that your fridge is next to your door, which is where ours will be going too, and we were concerned the fridge door wouldn't open but can see yours opens just fine. Great video and "A" for the "sadly, yes it's magnetic" line. :))))))))))) then shows a zillion children's magnets all over the front of it. ah ha ha.
3 balls drop after about 30 hours. The first week you'll think it takes forever, then after a few weeks you end up delighted when you have more balls than you ever thought possible. There won't be a whiskey situation you can't handle.
Yep. I thought that would be a big downer for me, but it has not turned out to be at all. My kids love those ice balls, and we appreciate the extra ice maker and tray, and we use a lot of ice every day with six of us in AZ. We added a few ice trays to the thin shelf to keep the good ice for my wife and kids. My wife likes the regular ice cubes, so I save those for her.
I hate to say it, but my craft ice maker has taken a bit of a break. It is hanging open, mouth agape. No, I have not called for a service appointment, nor did I purchase the extended warranty. So, we are craft ice-free currently, and needing to chill our whiskey with regular ice, like neanderthals. Ugh.
Yes! I often laugh that my videos should all be titled "Ode to a Tripod." Thanks for watching the video. Hopefully soon we'll have some new big-ticket household items to check out.
I don't understand your statement. The cubes come out of the door ice maker (they're actually wee pyramids) and the craft ice balls come out of the bottom freezer ice maker. Is that what you're saying?
@@michaeljones5681 Shoot, I missed the joke the first time around. Sorry! That's really funny. I did speak with the recent space mission while they were at the Space Station through the fridge. Turns out they didn't need more ice. Oh well, offer what you can, right?
It's in the freezer drawer. You'll see it in the video, alongside the smaller regular door-dispenser ice. Craft ice is ball-shaped, door ice is pyramid-shaped. Look for the part of the video from which the thumbnail is taken.
I don't like LG, but watching this man being so impressed with and really So loves his new refer. That I want one now! The round ice cool, I wish I had some at my house. I could play with that all day and show it to everybody.
You’re to close with your camera. I have basically the same thing but I haven’t figured out how to set the number of ice cubes in the craft maker to 6 instead of 3.
Nice video. I bought the same fridge. How round are your craft ice balls? Mine have a dimple (flattened spot) the size of a dime on both the top and bottom of the ball. Thanks.
Mine are that way, too. The instruction manual says they'll be completely round after a few batches, but that isn't the case. Mine have similar flat ends on them. However, we don't mind that one bit!
@@DavePR Yes I suppose I can live with it too. LG has no answers. I think the craft ice thing is too new. Someone said that it may be low water pressure. I'm on a well and my pressure goes from 30 to 50 psi. Most city water systems are steady at 60. For what it's worth. Best of luck to both of us :)
@@mikeclemens4082 I'm on city water, and we're dialed back at the main to around 80, so really high. I think there is just limitations to the technology, so we're not going to be shooting pool with them any time soon...
I wish you would do a follow up on how your craft icemaker is working. I bought this after watching your video my cubes looked like yours and after almost a year they still look like that. LG has been out a couple of times and cannot fix it. LG completely miss represents what the craft ice will look like in their videos and you will never get round ice. They have no intention to replace the refrigerator because somewhere in LGs owners manual in the fine print they tell you this. Unfortunately LG commercials do not.
Read through the comments and answers for followup of the fridge. We do still very much love the fridge, but craft ice has been offline for quite some time now.

Lmao fucking love this guy... What a great video and great energy pal! Love it
...and you're now my new favorite! Thanks!!!
So we can get cubes with an update
I don't understand your statement. The cubes come out of the door ice maker (they're actually wee pyramids) and the craft ice balls come out of the bottom freezer ice maker.
Is that what you're saying?
@@DavePR no I was making a joke but thanks anyway
@@michaeljones5681 Shoot, I missed the joke the first time around. Sorry! That's really funny. I did speak with the recent space mission while they were at the Space Station through the fridge. Turns out they didn't need more ice. Oh well, offer what you can, right?
@@DavePR lol
Shopping for one of these and this was a great review. Big whiskey ice! Science finally delivers something to better mankind
And their contribution to humankind? Whiskey ice. Sounds like a winner to me!!!
Where is the craft ice?

There are three molds in the craft ice maker.
What's great is that the sale price right now is lower than the entry level for LG! Black Friday whoop whoop!
who has this on sale?
Zack S Lowe’s
@@landobando392 nice I see it all the time at costco for 2600 (when on sale) I have yet to pull the trigger though :)
Zack S would def pull the trigger when on sale ! I’m waiting for delivery on Tuesday hope I get to make a vid
Drop your video link here. I'd love to see it.
This guy is hilarious!
I saw the commercial, and was so thrilled about the ice! It actually almost sold me just on the ice! I'd definitely get the extended warranty!
I read on the LG site that the quick ice feature causes the craft ice to be less round and less clear, perhaps that's why you're having flat spots?
I wish you would do a follow up on how your craft icemaker is working. I bought this after watching your video my cubes looked like yours and after almost a year they still look like that. LG has been out a couple of times and cannot fix it. LG completely miss represents what the craft ice will look like in their videos and you will never get round ice. They have no intention to replace the refrigerator because somewhere in LGs owners manual in the fine print they tell you this. Unfortunately LG commercials do not.
Read through the comments and answers for followup of the fridge. We do still very much love the fridge, but craft ice has been offline for quite some time now.
Cool!
I haven't seen the crushed ice feature work yet.
Empty fridge...load it up..lol
Did you intentionally quote American dad?
What?!?! Share the American Dad vid, I'd love to see it.
nice !
👍👍✌️
Kids gotta grow up with a drunk dad? Sad.
No such thing as an awesome fridge by LG
Tanner Paxton who makes an “awesome” fridge to you
@@beri232 nobody anymore. Unless you want to spend the money on a viking, subzero, or thermador. But almost every manufacturer will be better than lg or Samsung
Tanner Paxton I would never buy Samsung for any appliance. They look great but they’re all garbage. Samsung does however make excellent televisions. Most people cannot afford the refrigerator’s you mentioned above nor do they have the room for them if you’re in a smaller home. Those are luxury brands. I bought a Maytag side x side 10 years ago and it has only needed a $50 part in that time. I was able to diagnose the problem and fix it myself because of UA-cam.
Funny
i luv people like you; break your appliance so i can work on them; yay; lol ill take your money. i can tell you also dont know anything about these things; they break everyday oh and that same ole compressor and sealed system; oh your gonna luv it when you wake up one morning and nothing is cold; lol; service call again; oh and when that evap freezes up; oh another service call oh wait the ice maker quit; yay another service call; lol; and the list keeps going and going;
Leave me your number if you're in AZ and you'll be the one I call!
Pretentious much?
Jason Noyes so what refrigerator do you recommend Mr. I-Know-Everything refrigerator repair boy? I own a Maytag and have been able to do all my own repairs (only one in 10 years). UA-cam can teach a guy a lot and save a guy a $100/hr service call
@@beri232 yea go ahead we dont need people like you for service; i would deny your service call period. also you couldnt trace a wire schematic nor computer diagnostics either; so good luck with yourself; peace out
Jason Noyes yeah.... I’m sure you’re a really busy tech too.... Not!
You pay an extra 1,000 for large ice balls.. Waste of money. I guess if you are a hardcore alcoholic who needs whiskey ice ball's this is perfect for you
Wait till u have to have it repaired. LG,, worst brand out there !!!
Ronald Brasseur not if you buy from Sears with protection agreement!
@@truthseeker1181 Home Depot also offers a warranty.
Dave Robinson they do, but NO comparison to Sears warranty!
@@truthseeker1181 Tell me about the Sears warranty. How does it compare to Home Depot and Lowe's warranty programs?
Best buy's warranty is the best. $300 food loss protection if your beloved fridge dies on you. Plus the cost of any spoiled medications in the refrigerator covered too.
