WHAT LEAGUE EVERY ENGLISH CLUB BELONG IN

- In this video I rank over 100 English football clubs from across the top 5 tiers in order of what league they truly belong in.
Obviously, this will cause some debate. Especially over the likes of Charlton, Barnsley, Palace and the Sheffield clubs. But this is entirely my list and I’d love to hear your opinion in the comments.

Dorking are literally a pub team - club didn't even exist 25 years ago and started in the worst possible league and got promoted all the way up under 1 manager/owner. Such an incredible achievement. However they are part time and there is still work to go off the pitch. Hope to see them bounce back to the national league this season
West Brom more of a top tier club than Palace any day
& Southampton & equal with wolves
There should have been a category of bin bag for MK Dongs
That’s actually pretty spot on 👏
Good video Alex 🙌
Agreed Matt.
Thank you Matt means a lot 👍🏻
So far from being 'spot on'!
Bit unfair to say “football was a thing before 1992” then broadly dismiss everything that happened before 1992.
There is more to football than the last 20 years, Palace, Fulham, Southampton, and the Sheffield clubs in the prem.
Ipswich are historically a bigger club. Have won the English title, FA cup and a European trophy.
Major Honours
Sheff Wed - 8
Sheff Utd - 5
Ipswich- 3
Yeah History didn't start 20 years ago your right but both Sheffield teams beat you in History and attendance. That's why they're in there and your not 🤷
@@roberthawkes1260 have either won a European trophy?
Either had a manager go on to win a World Cup?
Wednesday average lower attendance.
@SuperKinlo but the European Cup is the only thing you have over both clubs. All 3 have won the top division but Both other clubs have more domestic trophies than Ipswich. I'm a blade and love to put Wednesday down any chance possible but like you said earlier you can't just have attendances based over the last 20 years because it suits. Both Sheffield clubs used to get over 40k before the all seater stadiums came in. Ipswich are maybe bigger than Palace and Fulham but not the Sheffield clubs. And you know your clutching at straws when you try to say a club is big based on how a manager went on to win something. That's like saying Aberdeen are a big club because Alex Ferguson went on to with a shit ton of trophies at an actual big club.
@@roberthawkes1260 good points. I’d argue we are same size as the blades.
Baffles me how someone could have Palace or Fulham on the list, never won a major trophy.
Innit, I don’t want to sound biased as a Pompey fan but we are clear of Southampton, we fill the home stands, week in, week out, have 11trophies in comparison to Southampton’s 4, we’ve won two first division titles and two fa cups, if Southampton are up there, so are Pompey, plus if we had the big bucks. We would be challenging Southampton rn.
I’m a Westbrom fan and I’d swap Crystal Palace for Westbrom as Westbrom always realy been a prem side an palace more championship
Well he definitely didn’t go on all the stuff he mentioned at the beginning lol. Just chucked them anywhere in the end.
Love where he put westbrom that kid is so spot on my mate 👍👍👍👍👍great decision 👍👍
ExeTeR CItY iN leAgUE 2
bro they might get promoted soon
with youngsters like sonny cox coming through
and had a period of like 10 games unbeaten. and they also will want to take the piss out of plymouth argyle
it's probably because of your age that you don't remember the 80s when luton were in the premier league equivalent and won the league cup beating arsenal in the final .they were always in the top two divisions at all times and they were deducted more points than any other club in history for going into administration which led them to slowly fade away .this is of course not your fault for not being clever enough to understand this .ask daddy what he thinks and then adjust your thinking lol
You’re lucky Luton weren’t in pub team mate
@@AlexCraigGH does mummy know you're still up lol
I replied to your comment at 2pm mate.
You completely forgot about Barrow
i now know where you live
Sorry. The tiermaker wasn’t made by me. Like Barrow as a club, visited last season. But national league for me as they’ve only recently got into the FL
When did you do this some of the team s were put in the wrong league
My suggestion may be a bit biased take Plymouth out of championship and put Charlton back up
@@NanaSF-cafc... True. Historically speaking, I would put Charlton on a similar level standing with Norwich, Coventry & Fulham.
Luton Town in League One? Are you crazy
Scunny in League 1 but Grimsby in league 2? you clearly know nothing. Grimsby have always been the biggest club in Lincolnshire.
It's a tier list, not a review.
Scunthorpe recently been poor but we’re in the championship back in the day
Blackburn won 6 fa cups before hand not to mention they won 3 in a row..... while in the top flight
They won 3 in a row before the football league had started.
Love these comments 😂 it’s all just opinion chill 😂
Love your videos/predictions. Agree with vest ones.
For Me.
Premiership.
West Brom, Middlesbrough
Championship
Sheff Utd, Sheff Wed
Championship
Brighton, Huddersfield, Wigan
League 1.
Barnsley, Blackpool, Plymouth
League 1.
Wycombe, Leyton Orient, Northampton, Exeter, Mansfield, Gillingham
League 2.
Shrewsbury, AFC Wimbledon, Port Vale, Tranmere Rovers, Oldham. MK Dons
National League
Scunthorpe, Rochdale
Perfection then. 😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁😁
Id put cambridge utd in pub team🙂
Saw them beat us 4-0 once so I can’t put them there
@AlexCraigGH thay wouldn't beat you now,was that in the fa cup?
Sheffield Wednesday should be championship
based on recent history (last 20 years) agree Championship level....but overall history (140 years) and potential....then they are Premier league level.
Historically speaking, Wednesday are definitely top tier! ... No question!
You literally have not ranked them on what you said you would. You have just ranked them on where you think they should be. Worst ranking i have seen in a long time.
Torquay national league yet 80+ years of our history in EFL 😂 yet Yeovil L2 only 16 years in EFL..:makes sense
Charlton have spent over a quarter of a century in the top flight, and over 40 in the championship, it's only in these current phase and way back in the 1920s where we've been in consistently in the third tier
Sheffield Wednesday haven’t been in the premier league for almost 24 years they have the most expensive ticket prices and they are a Premier League club Fanbase Wise I remember them being one of the best clubs in England in the early 1990s getting to 3 Major cup finals plus Europe
The last 24 years have been the worst in their history and they are still Yorkshires most successful football club when it comes to the numbers of trophies Won
We have spent 90+ years in league 2 and league 1 how is Torquay a non league club?
Strange
And he put Yeovil L2 only 16 years in EFL 😂
Crystal Palace Premier League?!
they've been there along time tbf. i think you can question sheffield wed more and probably forest
@@circle2867 Palace only become an established Prem team in the last decade. They've actually spent more time in the second & third tiers than the top flight over the course of their history.
yea
@@circle2867How can you question Sheffield Wednesday and Nottingham Forest? Sheff Wed have won more major honours than any other team in Yorkshire. Forest have two European cups to their name, two more than Arsenal and Spurs. And one more than City.
@@footballfanar9717 because they spent so long out of the top flight. sure they both have history, and if we go down that route then you have to put clubs like huddersfield in.
Recent years might cloud people's judgement but Gillingham and Walsall have spent a LOT of time in the third tier and I'd call them your typical third division side along with Oldham.
Boro and Derby are bigger than crystal palace ffs. There's even an argument that Ipswich and Norwich are too tbh. Selhurst park is an absolute shithole for a kick off.
Coventry are bigger than palace
Big yes to Derby and Ipswich. I'm not sure what the argument is for Palace, massive recency bias.
Nice try but you did some noticeable mistakes, like Blackburn, Huddersfield and many others. You need to do more research 😅
Let me help you a little bit. Put:
Palace, Fulham, Leicester, Southampton, Millwall Shrewsbury, Southend United and Morecambe lower.
Blackburn, WBA, Derby, Ipswich, Huddersfield, Grimsby and Stockport higher. 😅
Wrexham in league one is just madness. Some recency bias going on there, they are league two and that's being generous. Other than that though, fair play, pretty good list.
Agree Wrexham no higher than League 2
Atleast you put Argyle in The Championship where they belong
criminal.
Wazza sending you down with crippling debt 🥳
These comments are all opinion. I think you’re 90% bang on
Coventry Premier League for Leicester
@@IanP63819 ... No chance!
Torquay National League 80 years football league 10 in Non League
Yep and he put Yeovil L2 only 16 years EFL, he clearly hadn’t done any research
You’re having a laugh with your predictions are you mate.
Brighton and Huddersfield Championship clubs any day of the week. As are Leyton Orient, Wycombe, Northampton, Exeter league 1 clubs any day of the week.
Also Scunthorpe league 1, you having a laugh, that’s the biggest joke of them all. (Alongside, Brighton league 1)
Nice video Alex hope city go up this year
There’s no way Fulham are a prem club. I’d put them in league one. Brum should be in the prem too
Brighton were in europe
Once
No way are you putting Palace in the prem
Should be in the Premier League
Fantastic work
Millwall above luton weve been in the top flight for 17 years ,one major trophy .millwall 2 years top flight no major trophy.
Luton are a pub team
I agree mostly
Shocker taking out Albion
Would've certainly put West Brom in Prem over Sheff UTD
Huddersfield in league one thats a joke were one of the most championship team out of them all
I am old enough to remember people saying that if the titanic had been painted sky blue, then the titanic would not have sunk, and not gone down, (sky blues/Coventry City included)! Mind you, that was in the days gone by when Coventry City had flirted too many times against relegation from the First Division/Premier League, during the sky blues 34 years in the top flight before they went down to the second tier eventually.
Clueless.
Why is that? Because he said something that made you upset?
As a Palace fan.... A thumbs up from me. Palace in the Prem and Brighton in L1.... Brilliant!
Dorking fan here. I agree we are not National League standard. But don’t be surprised if we become a mainstay in the division in year to come.
Colchester maybe L1 remember them playing us in the championship
Scunny leauge 1
Charlton championship
Huddersfield need to go up one I think
Last season Both Sheffield Wednesday & Sheffield United was in the bottom 3 almost all season but near the end SWFC had 34k fans & SUFC had 31k fans that’s a total of over 65k fans
Lots bigger than Newcastle & Villa
I can remember when SWFC was getting 50k + inside Hillsborough stadium when it was standing
Sheffield is the birthplace of football the city of Sheffield is More than Twice the size of Newcastle
@marc.the.red1987 So that’s why SWFC had 34k at bottom of the championship and SUFC had 31k at bottom of premier league that’s over 65k fans Newcastle ground only holds 52k 🤔😂 do your maths 🤷🏼♂️
Wasn’t that long ago Newcastle was only getting 18k for home games 🤷🏼♂️
& as a city Newcastle is a little town compared to Sheffield what’s Englands 3rd largest city by size & 4th largest by way of Population
You only have one club we have two because we are a Major city unlike a little town like Newcastle
@marc.the.red1987 How can a club who ground holds 52k fans be bigger than two clubs who got a combined attendance of 65k fans be bigger 🤔😂🤦
They was both bottom of the league at the time 31k SUFC & SWFC 34k fans that’s a total of over 65k fans in Sheffield beats Nufc 52k fans what part of that don’t you understand??🤷🏼🤷🏼
It’s not hard to add up & to work out 🤷🏼🤔🤦
@marc.the.red1987 Newcastle United have only become big recently because of the Takeover or you would still be Yoo Yooing from PL to Championship
SWFC when they get back in the PL their self will almost be as big as Newcastle on their own
When the capacity is back up to just below 40k fans
Like I said how does 52k fans beat 65k combined fans 🤷🏼♂️🤷🏼♂️?? It doesn’t theirs only one person living in cloud cuckoo land & it’s the same person who can’t do his Maths 😂😂
& As for a City Size the Steel City of Sheffield blows little Newcastle out of the water I know is more than Twice as big as Newcastle & also Twice size in Population to!
Let’s not forget that Both Sheffield teams have been poor for years especially SWFC back in 1993 both played each other at Wembley stadium in fa cup semi final the attendance was over 73k fans - Sheffield is also the Birthplace of football have some respect & Stop talking Rubbish
@marc.the.red1987 to say we’ve not had no premier league in almost 24 years we are still Yorkshires most successful football club & we still get decent attendance not like we had years ago as I remember over 50k fans inside Hillsborough stadium but now we have Danny Rohl here he’s made 6 good signings aready so here’s to a better future
All the best for the new season from Sheffield I think you got my points 🤔👍👊 and they was all very true also
Good luck for the new season from Englands 3rd largest city by way of size & 4th largest city by way of population SHEFFIELD
@marc.the.red1987 What’s not to get I just said that we are Yorkshires most successful football club and the early 1990s was a great time to be a Swfc fan with 3 Major cup finals Europe ect & top tier football from 1984-2000
Take care of yourself mate from Sheffield
Blackburn and WBA should definitely be in the Premier league they both have won over five fa cups been in European football over 7 times in there history and Albion have spent more time in the top tier than the likes of West ham Sheffield utd and Nottingham forrest
Forest have won club football's biggest prize twice on the bounce (the last English club to do that), the 9th best honours list in the country. ... They're 100% top tier! ... No question!
Blackburn actually won trophies PRIOR to 1995. Same could be said for clubs like Bolton, Preston and Ipswich
Historically speaking, Blackburn should be top tier. ... No question!
First thought: I'd swap Barnsley for Charlton. Not too long ago, The Addicks had several seasons in the PL, have a bigger ground and probably a larger following on away days.
He did way Barnsley could be between Championship and League one. But I agree Charlton bigger than Barnsley
Great video, watched it all knowing we’d be in the premier league.
Disagree with Huddersfield. Swap them with Blackpool and Carlisle league one for me.
There are a select few teams that will always be Premier League. Spurs being one of them.
I’ll take league one
Love it
Alex what time beat your team on the last game of the season 2.1
QPR. Vlog is on the channel mate 👀
Nice video
I'd say League 1 for Chesterfield. We have more seasons in that division than we do any other, we also get bigger crowds consistently than the likes of Crewe who you have put in there
Think I actually agree here. Maybe I overlooked Chesterfield due to recent troubles on the pitch since around 2016. Good to see you back in the Football League
Cheers mate. Great to be back! 😁
As a Blackburn Fan since 1986, I agree that the current Rovers are mired within the Championship. That being said, you have 10 other clubs in your fictional "deserve Premiership" that have serious flaws:
Since 1992 and including the upcoming season; these 11 clubs ranked by performance:
Southampton (PREMIER) --25 Premier / 6 Champions(D1) / 2 League 1(D2) / 0 (D3) -- no hardware
Leicester City (PREMIER) --18 / 14 / 1 / 0 -- 1 Title & 1 FA Cup
Blackburn (CHAMP) -- 18 / 14 / 1 / 0 -- 1 Title & 1 League Cup
Fulham (PREMIER) -- 18 / 8 / 4 / 3 (D3) -- no hardware
Crystal Palace (PREMIER) -- 16 / 17 / 0 / 0 -- no hardware
Sunderland (CHAMP) -- 16 / 13 / 4 / 0 -- no hardware
Leeds United (CHAMP) -- 15 / 15 / 3 / 0 -- no hardware
Wolves (PREMIER) -- 11 / 21 / 1 / 0 -- no hardware
Nottingham (PREMIER) -- 8 / 22 / 3 / 0 -- no hardware
Sheffield Wed ( CHAMP) -- 8 / 19 / 6 / 0 -- no hardware
Sheffield United (CHAMP) -- 6 / 21 / 6 / 0 -- no hardware
Why start at 1992? Why not 1991?
@@thomasfitzgerald3685... Football didn't only exist since '92. Take it from 1888, when it REALLY started.
@@philholland9675, I took it from 1992 because I doubted the creator had any understanding of the EFL before that date. His opinions being based on the fraction of the EFL totality. Blackpool or Millwall over Charlton to league one
Millwall fan,I’ll have what your taken😂😂
Blackpool and Millwall are way bigger than Charlton.
@AlexCraigGH .... historically speaking, they're not.
Wigan recently won the fa cup? 11 years ago
11 years is more recent than when you last won one

Plymouth in the Championship but Huddersfield in Lge 1 based on what? History, support?
He got that one wrong definitely
Huddersfield who have spent more time in the top flight than the 3rd and 4th tiers put together and more time in the 2nd tier than all the divisions. Absolute bollocks.

There was football before the premier league came along.

Coventry in the Prem
100% agree
