Amanda Tapping is a terrific actress, to pull off the character of a grieving widow like this, unlike her normal character. I had a lot more respect for her as an actress after this episode.
Probably the best love scene of all time (TV OR MOVIES!) every single part was perfect from the music, to carters look into jacks eyes as she kissed him, her grabing of his hair showing body language attachment to him. Jacks 1 word answers that said way more that 1 word, just one of the the best intimate scenes between people of all time. Then to end off the scene, that look of complete loss and what do i do now!!! It will be hard for anyone to ever reproduce an intimate scene like that with everything that was going on between carter and jack in that episode and the show in general!
Yeah what a Pity Sam and Jack never got together the way they wanted to color f****** military regulations they need to make a reunion moving fix that s*** or at least a miniseries hell David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson they do they look miniserie once a year I don't see why the cast of Stargate can't do the same a miniseries to wrap everything up he'll The X-Files was on damn near 20 years
charles neely they did get together when jack left the sgc. She even carried around his photo with her. Then they must have had some falling out because she threw away the picture I believe.
Something similar happens to our Sam in Continuum. She watches Jack die and then goes through the Stargate into an alternate timeline where she meets their Jack. Only she hides her grief more because they were having a secret relationship.
When you've lived through that in real life, this episode hits you bloody hard. Just the same as Sam lost him just after their first anniversary, I lost my wife about 2 months after our first anniversary.
He paused at the end!! He just wished he could say yes instead! Oh!! 😭 One of the best episodes. It makes me ponder so many things. What is the multiverse was real and how would I react if I met my double.. ouhouuuu goosebumps !! 🌹
@@81Bayer_DFW Best guess: because he exemplifies what she sees a good soldier and an honorable person as being, plus the opposites attract intellect vs instinct element, he's easy on the eyes, and there's probably a bit of the older man/daddy issues element deep down somewhere where she'd never consciously address it. They really do complement each other well, each bringing different strengths and perspectives into the mix. Makes for a good team dynamic, and can make for a good relationship dynamic as well.
A new Stargate tv series... Stargate Multiverse Where they hook up the Quantum Mirror to the stargate and help parallel Earths defeat their enemies. Could see a return of our favourite actors.
Oh..Man...it's a shame, if things were a bit different between Jack & Sam. They both seem so perfect for each other, if weren't for military regulation's they've would have reveal for their feelings for one & other. This scene got into everyone hearts just by watching this episode...thinking if they would end up being together. Gen. O'Neill may still have feelings for Lt. Col. Carter...?
A bit late to answer ^^ Bit if you check the lore a bit, it is hinted that jack and sam really are together later on Sam keeps a picture of jack while she is in atlantis and there are quite some other signs too Could not be happier!
its been years since ı watched this show and sometimes I think about it, if they are there what my alternate selves are doing? are they happy? are they lonely,? for me this scene relates to me alot because there is this girl i know who well we got along great and everything but before we we could really get to know each other she had to stop talking to me. and everytime i see this scene it honestly makes me think about her and how for all i know i could be with her right now.strange as it sounds.
Not the saddest moment in the series.. For me it's a tie between Martouff's death and Janet's. I can't even watch Heroes cause it pisses me off so much.
I feel like the writers were scared of what would happen if they officially got together and thought having them be lurk this was better, somehow??! Other shows were able to bring soulmates tougher and not lose anything from it (drama wise) but this show couldn’t seem to do it!! 😭😭😩
Their relationship would have required one of them to leave Stargate Command. You can't have a romantic/sexual relationship between officers in the same chain of command in any but the most unusual circumstances. General Hammond might be inclined to look the other way, but anyone reviewing their command structure (like members of the House and Senate committees cleared to know about it, Hammond's superiors, etc.) would also have to be willing to look the other way, and that's a lot of potential vetoes to allowing them to serve together in the same unit or even on the same base. Alternate Jack and Sam got away with it because one of them wasn't military, so the rule didn't apply.

This theme, this episode.... one of the most perfectly made tearjerkers in history.. everything, the story, the music... it was just so perfect.
That love theme between Sam and Jack was so deeply moving and beautiful. Thanks for capturing it in one of the best episodes where it was played.
Jack still loves her. The hug proved it.
The theme just exudes unfulfilled desire and a never ending longing, a love that cannot be admitted and no future together.
So deep and real, the love from her to him. Jacks compassion for her rose up to comfort her. So very moving!
Yeah. I'm so in tears by watching this
wow, that ending, that sense of loneliness, that sense of where do you go from here.
Beeston 01 INDEED!

Im so sorry for your loss! Im praying for you
3:10 our sam realizes she might be missing out on something
I still wish Jack and Samantha (Major Carter) had a relationship on the show.
They were both Air-force officers, that kind of thing is HIGHLY frowned upon in the military.
Dishonourable discharge frowned upon. XD
When he hugged her it almost made me cry.
I love that they never do. It’s a massive cliché-dodge
@@SyndicateBrink Hate to break a bubble, but it's IMPLIED by both the writers and a deleted scene in Atlanits, that they are in a relationship later.
@@kadindarklord They're not really working together at that point though so I assume it'd be more acceptable?

Yep. A tinge of jealousy and remorse all in one. Tapping's facial expression is gold.

This episode, and that love theme, absolutely broke my heart! 😥 Samantha Carter (Amanda Tapping) is the kind of lady I could love! 🥰
The music man, this music is heartbreaking =/

The soundtrack...it's feel train turned into sound.
This music sounded in more episodes, but most of time in this one. It's beautiful and it's too bad that Joel Goldsmith didn't release it.

what a sweet video and episode,...they so should have got together in this reality
One of the best episode ever
MY favorite use of this music was in season 4 episode 20 "Entity" when Sam was controlled by the alien AI. and O'Neill has to Zat her

I miss sg1, they should have made a movie where the stargate went public
Yes, had they gone public, that could have started a whole new series.
The regular her is just looking on as they kiss almost like "Damn that could've been me in another life" in more ways than one
