I just bought the kit to complement my outdoor gigs... Took some ideas from u - with the connectors - straight to the main L-arm... That sure is a lot less hussle to haul around on outdoor gigs....

I've been considering this little "Pearl" because it's always more fun to play acoustically in live settings (vs. using my Octapad spd30) ... Thanks for sharing all these - answers a lot of my questions.

Great jam session! I also have the same kit with the tom add-ons. I use it mainly for rehearsal practice, but I found the snare is quite useful to copy electronic snare/clap effect type sounds.
How do you like the add-ons? I havent got them yet cause I dont think they will ever be available in Brazil. But Ill but them in europe someday

Great demos,.thanks. This.is.a.great.tool.for.traveling.musicoan as intended. For others like me, just playing at home, a small regular kit would not take up much more space and would sound a lot better. God product for busking! Cheers.

What sort of cymbals do you play? Your ride is really well suited to the music, and it's still small enough that the bass drum can support it.

It's a HHX Evolution 16" Crash.
It's not even a crash-ride. Just a crash.
I was using it so it was easier to carry and to mount over the drums

thanks for uploading this. im considering now to buy or not. u need microphone to play or the sound is enough wizout microphone ？ since i play standard jazz, not sure the sound volume ia enough or not
it really depends on the size and acoustics of the venue! I've been using it for live jazz without mics for a long time, but in a small space. Results may vary!
@@CrisRibeiroDrums Thanks for answering. I already bought and start some gigs. I think this kit is good for jazz standard because we hit snare softly. When I play Jazz funk, snare often goes down. audience had to help snare to put up. So, i may buy other snares.
Olá Cris! Valeu pelo video, muito bacana. Moro em NYC entao achei que seria um volume bem menor para carregar em metro, etc. Tenho essa bateria a um mês e gostei bastante do bumbo, só nao me adaptei ao som da caixa. Vc nao chegou a trocar a pele da caixa, né? Valeu Obrigado!

Yes!
How do you make the bass sound so big?
It works great if you use a Bass Drum mic. But even acoustic, I like the sound. It's dry, defined and with a punch to it

My snare wires have bent upwards on this kit. Do you know where I could find a replacement that would fit this build? Have you run into this problem at all yourself?

@@CrisRibeiroDrums legal. Pena que essa batera é bem difícil de conseguir. Acho que desse modelo é a que tem melhor qualidade sonora.
I bought this kit but snare loosen very easily and audience has to get it at right position back a couple of times in gig. So, not recommend.

Have you tried a 20" ride with that attachment?
Never. Would probably be too heavy for it
@@CrisRibeiroDrums I have the same kit and clamp and I put a 20" zildian medium ride and it's not too heavy works great. I wish I could find a smaller cymbal that sounded good but I tried a zildian A 16" crash for a lot of money and it sounded terrible. I have my eye on that Sabian 16" hhx evolution you have but no store by me has it. Why did you choose that particular cymbal?
@@markcubbedge6701 I've had it for a long time now! Being using it as a crash ride even thought its not. I really love it as a crash. But was missing a real ride cymbal. Last week I bought a 19" Diril Raw Ride and it's great (its called Cassio Cunha signature if you're curious about It). Dont know if they sell those outside Brazil but I think it would be great with the clamp
@@CrisRibeiroDrums That hhx sounds so good when you play it as a ride crash, I'm tempted to just order one from online. I get a great tone with my ride and I love it but it is so big and heavy. I like to be minimalist so smaller is better. Every 16" I've tried so far is very hard to use as a ride. I've been playing instruments for a while but your videos inspired me to get a pearl compact with the clamp and a high hat, I also have a 12" thin tom on the side and found really good ways to make the whole set nice and crisp while being quiet. I'll have to send you a pic of the setup sometime soon or make a video. Thanks for the inspiration, your skill is amazing too.
