I am a disabled woman who lives in the United States, I work at a thrift store, and I really love my job there very much!
People with disabilities should work at any job that they want to, and employees should not judge them.

I recently helped a wheel chair bound disabled gentleman chauffeuring him to his errands in his retrofitted Van for a 6 hour period. To him, the pandemic was the best thing to happen to his life because he now has the opportunity to work from home forever without a commute as an IT Support Agent . Indeed disablity is not inability he was such a subject matter expert in his field from the conversation i had with him. God bless the disabled people. 🙏

Here in Canada, I have witnessed myself employees who are supposed to help disabled people get and keep jobs, they help employers instead and abuse the system to make more money for the companies. The subsidies paid by the government were used to save the companies money and not to help and integrate the disabled. Disabled people just want to love, be loved and belong, just like everyone else 😢

They make them work for less than minimum wage and for free as interns? So the rich owners of the businesses are getting free labour off of disabled people? That's messed up. Pay living wages.

    • @chownful
      @chownful Рік тому +12

It is a 4 week internship and it's not unheard of for internships to be unpaid, especially given the circumstances (e.g he knows nothing about cars). Honestly I think doing this would probably end up costing the business owner (not sure why you assume they are rich).
It'd be easier for them to just hire someone that they wouldn't have to train so much.

Bravo to German law and the people for giving the disabled a chance to work. Here in Canada we have laws for hiring disabled people but they are not enforced and businesses and government entities don’t feel pressure to hire disabled persons as for work shops we have none and therefore not too many people with disability work at least the majority with visible disability

@@ReginaJuneyou just minimised this persons desire, to fit in with whatever apparently odd preconceptions you seem to have.
If somebody asks for help to get a job, and you tell them to just do arts and crafts or gardening, or get a pet instead..
Do you think that is useful?
      You disgust me, frankly.
You wear your ignorance so proudly eh.
Some people have high aspirations and it’s not up to you, or anyone else to discourage them.
You suck as a person, IMHO.
I don’t know the answer other than a local job centre or maybe their therapist or assistant maybe able to help find something appropriate.
But I’m not going to tell people to do the opposite of what they’ve just asked, without even asking them their interests.
I think you need to realise that other people have full lives with dreams and goals of their own, and this wide world isn’t here only for you or your way of doing things.

They should stay home and garden, get pets, learn anything and everything to their ability and interest. People who need income could also do those jobs if they are worth doing by a person.
