- The recent Nintendo Direct just revealed a new Metroid, a new Legend of Zelda game, and a Marvel vs. Capcom collection. The Nintendo Direct recap includes reveals like the Zelda Echoes of Wisdom trailer. The Metroid Prime 4 trailer. The Marvel vs Capcom Collection. My Nintendo direct highlights also include Donkey Kong Country HD, the Nintendo NES content. Some of the stuff is coming to Nintendo Online. The Nintendo announcements blew everyone away. I grade it as A. Depending on your preferences, this one or Xbox's will be your favorite. Only Sony's presentation disappointed.

C+ I don’t like see so many rereleases for only 4-5 new games to be announced. Feels like they are relying on nostalgia to sell this year, and it disappoints me that that’s the case with new hardware around the corner

Indeed, but a very good game. Better than Tropical Freeze IMO.
I own it on my 3DS as Donkey Kong Returns 3D, but I think it may have been a Wii game also.
It originated on Wii. The 3DS version made Golden Temple into a full world and added more stages to fill that gap. Those are the new stages being added here that weren't in the Wii game.
@@ParadoxalDreamnah tropical freeze is definitely better. But both aren’t as good as the rare trilogy as they don’t flow as well but still fantastic.
The new Zelda uses the Link's Awakening Remake art style. I'm super excited for Dragon Quest 3 2D-HD finally coming out and 1 and 2 next year.
Donkey Kong WII game returns in HD not the SNES game.
I borrowed xmen children of the atom from a friend for Saturn.... and it by far was one of the coolest fighting games i ever played at the time.
All the colors the flashing and movment on screen can fight in the air. Each character has their own Ultra/fatality type move. Im hyped to learn this. Yall have a great day.

You didn’t talk about Mario & Luigi Brotherhood??!! That game looks amazing!! It was a big highlight for me. Plus Metroid of course loved that! But a big one for me was Dragon Quest 1,2,3 HD. I never played these games but I love the 2D HD rpgs so that’s definitely on my radar.
My first console bought with my very own money was Nintendo (classic) these games make me nostalgic. I am all in in the next console !
Took em about 6 months but they finally opened up. Can't wait for these insane games.
It's so funny, everyone was expecting maybe a new mario party and maybe some dlc and instead we got a REALLY good direct, especially for so late into a console's life

I was a Nintendo fan until tha wii came along.switched to the 360 back then .the Metroid games were always 10 out of 10 games on snes and GameCube.and when i see gameplay for the new one,i say great but visual wise it looks like a gamecube game with better lighting and some refections.but i'm shure gameplay wil be great
Metroid prime 4 looks like is a lower graphically intense Halo 4. The pirates even look like elites.
They said the same about tears of the kingdom. Look how that turned out. Even Metroid prime 3 remake smh
@@scuppo no, what I'm saying is that it looks like Halo 4. Like the design elements and atmosphere and all that, just looks like it's running on lower end hardware than the 360, other than resolution. How long has this game been in the oven for? Imagine is Nintendo had hardware near or at the same level as the PS5/Xbox series... Man Nintendo could make some seriously beautiful games and still have the Nintendo gameplay/story.

If I remember correctly Halo and the og Prime came out he same year. The Space Pirates in the Prime series have had different designs in each game. However the design of them in Prime 4 are the ones from the original game.
@@thaneros with that split jaw? I don't think so, I don't remember seeing those 4 jaws on enemies with that body style in any other game. Halo took a lot of inspiration from Alien, which is where that jaw I think came from
Pretty happy about Donkey Kong HD and a new Zelda game, Prime 4 while I'm sure it will be a solid game was pretty underwhelming. I wanted Prime 4 to be Metroid's BOTW moment that pushes the franchise forward with something new and fresh, but instead the gameplay looks exactly like it did 20+ years ago, graphics more or less look the same as Prime Remaster and they are even re-using the same music and sound effects. for a 7 year wait I expected better, this feels like it could've come out 5 or 6 years ago
Don’t be too quick to judge it. I’m sure they just used that music because that’s the music we all know and love. I would agree is is a bit safe in the trailer but probably for the same reasons. 🤞it’s epic
Metroid stole the show fasho. That marvel collection will be for sure worth it I been trying to get a og copy of marvel v capcom 2 for my xbox original and they go for over $100 alone.
Not a Nintendo fan ever since I became an adult many years ago.. Their games are just too kiddie for me but great for the kids :)

Xbox showcase showed games 'coming 2025 ' (possible delay) and barely showed any gameplay to counteract bad press of studio closures.
Although state of play wasn't as good as Nintendo direct it showed mostly games releasing this year
@@e3vL1 Xbox showcased showed almost 15 games coming out before the end of 2024 and 10 coming out next year with about 5 coming out later than that…. All except gears had gameplay by the way.

Zelda game, brothership, Horizon (we knew already) and Metroid was it. Nothing else was anything to get excited about.
mario party looks pretty good. it seems to have the same budget as mario party superstars for the maps instead of the cheap ones from super mario party
Mario Party peaked several years ago. Can’t really imagine playing anything from this show. Even the ones I mentioned are not day one have tos.
I bet this is a Switch 2 launch game. I also bet it will be the first Metroid game to sell over 5 million copies.
IDK about that. They announced it with a Switch logo, and Nintendo doesn't usually change once they've announced a platform.
I'm thinking it'll be either be cross-gen or will get a re-release on Switch 2 later on.
@@rpg_havenI bet it’s both. Most of Nintendo’s recent systems have launched with a cross gen first party game. Twilight Princess for GCN/Wii, BotW for Wii U/Switch. Metroid Prime 4 will have the Switch version that was shown and most likely a Switch 2 version with higher resolution and maybe some added lighting.
Metroid Prime 4’s trailer was pretty tame. Almost felt like a fan creation. I really hope it’s good. 🤞

Great to see that Fantasian, Ace Attorney Investigations Collection, and Dragon Quest HD 2D are coming to Xbox, but the lack of Romancing SaGa 2 Remake and and The Hundred Line The Last Defense on Xbox (the latter of which also isn't coming to PlayStation, either) is disappointing. Especially Romancing Saga, seems like Square is still up with their BS again despite committing to release more games on Xbox a year ago. But at least the other three Square games are coming to Xbox, I guess.
Also, personally don't care about this game, but the lack of Marvel vs Capcom Collection on Xbox is baffling. Capcom continues to arbitrarily skip Xbox with the most nonsensical of decisions. There is no logical reason why The Great Ace Attorney Chronicles wouldn't make financial sense to release on Xbox, but Ace Attorney Investigations does. Same with that Mega Man Battle Network collection skipping Xbox. What tf is wrong with Capcom? At this point, SEGA and Atlus support Xbox more consistently with almost all of their games than Capcom does with their smaller games.
i wish destin can comment abit on this. why xbox is excluded again on these games....

I didn't watch the direct but saw a fww of the trailers. I think Zelda looks neat, but I wasn't into anything else. I was also very surprised by how boring Metroid looked. I'm sure it's has deeper gameplay, but the trailer was bad.

Unfortunately i cant get hyped for Mario and Luigi. All of the games were childhood core memories for me. Im hoping the gameplay will be fun but the art style just isnt it for me :( At least the Game Series is still alive
Is it me or is the remake culture getting out of control this year? The industry really seems to focus in safe redo's of older generation's favorite games.

For the mainstream Nintendo is 2nd to Xbox's showcase. But to me, Nintendo is bringing in what people just want. COOL GAMES that don't remind us about the bleak reality of the video games industry.

Nintendo Direct was pretty bad until Metroid Prime 4 showed up. So hyped for that game!
Man what really sucks is thay the new Metroid prime game is coming out this late in the switch's life... These people waited for so long.... For a game to be stuck on the switch rigjt before new hardware comes out. Forever held back by this system. Sad, really.
I think it will be on both old and new switch. But also I think they made prime remastered to test what they could achieve on switch, and what art style they wanted to aim for. So it will be on a similar benchmark to that. And that game looked really great.
@@DaRkLoRd-rc5yu doesn't matter if it will be backwards compatible or revised for the new switch, it'll be held back because it was designed to play on a previous gen (the switch) system.

Even from the trailer you can tell it fits right in with the rest of the trilogy. It feels like more metroid prime. Almost as if they could have made it on the gamecube.
Which could be seen as a bad thing. But when those games were as good as they were, how well they still hold up even today and how long it's been (metroid prime 3 corruption came out in like 2007) its actually really welcome to have it back in the same way we would expect.
It's better than them changing it beyond recognition and it losing its identity.

Just because the hardware is better doesn't mean it has to be super complex or overcomplicated. There are just certain things you can do with newer hardware that you could not with prior hardware.
It will be forever limited due to the switch, nothing you can say to change that.

Yes it could have looked better but gameplay wise it was pretty perfect and pushed limits of what the series had done in the past.
Minus the frame rate drops in the forgotten forest, but at least there was no combat in there and it was mostly just a maze that you walked through.
And say persona 4 on PS2 or persona 5 on PS3. Both came out on old hardware after the next gen game out but we're still really great games that I don't think had their vision compromised.

the DKC game is not a remake of the SNES original game, it's a HD remaster of DKC Returns on Wii, which is one of the most underrated game of the system in my opinion. I think it is a better and more challenging platformer than Tropical Freeze.
Metroid was the only thing that looked good.

Thought was a big L of a conference wasn't excited about any announcements I had 3 hopes didn't get any old pokemon games on switch or lost kingdoms 3 or put lost kingdoms 1,2 on switch

This was the most Meh direct ive ever watched. NES speedrunning game looks cool. Zelda game looks cool. Metroid looked very Meh but whatever its early. Rest of it was pure filler and obviously pushed the "good" stuff to switch 2. We will have to wait for a new "good" mario.
