A student walks into their classroom at Kerrydale Elementary School and quickly scans the room’s whiteboard for the familiar list they see daily. It’s the day’s learning intentions and success criteria, and the student already knows what they need to accomplish by the end of class. It’s the secret to student success at Kerrydale Elementary, and for the principal, Alyse Zeffiro, it is the culmination of three years of hard work in implementing the practice school wide. It’s called Visible Learning, and students and staff at the school will tell you, it’s working.
