Go back to kids went to a college because they wanted to all their life, not because someone paid more and now it is the college they always wanted to go to. Until just recently, Michigan didn't do much with the NIL. They had kids that came to Michigan because it was what they dreamed of. My opinion, for what it is worth, is kids play harder for something they have dreamed of all their lives. Not what was bought and paid for. They take their money and move on to the NFL and make more money. I agree that you were out coached today, but was part of the problem these kids that did not grow up living and dying the "Game" their entire life. Maybe it was the coaching, but maybe it was real heart also.

I also remember losing to Texas this year and watching them plant their flag in The Big House, thinking exactly what you said "If you don't want them planting the flag, you should have been them on the field. Better get them next time." Great content. Hope your channel grows.
Hey really appreciate you checking the video. And the nice words. Yeah you guys got the toughness. Total agree. Osu get off the field. Congrats on the win!
Throwing swing passes and passes 2 yds past the line of scrimmage has not and does not win games. Running into a brick wall for zero yards time after time does not work. Use your strengths against their weaknesses. It’s common sense. These guys make millions of dollars to piss down their own leg and shit the bed. That was some of the worst coaching I’ve ever seen
Perfectly broke it down. If you had Chip Kelly's job we would be playing in the B1G championship. Still in shock 12 hours later that that game was coached that poorly. Felt like Day and Kelly were getting payed to lose.
Hey thanks for the nice comment and checking out the vid. I’m still in shock. I still cannot figure out who called most of the plays in the second half… just no fluidity. Laughable bad to the point I can’t even be mad just shocked
No, no, no this guy would be better at eating potato chip's on the couch watching the game, rather than talking trash about xhio chip Kelly. It's easy to be a Monday morning quarterback, just saying. 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024. GO BLUE!!!
Chip Kelly barely had a .500 winning percentage in the NFL and Philadelphia wasn't sad to see him go. Not sure how OSU thought he would be a good fit with their program.
Penn State fan here. I still cant believe we get to play in Indy next week. I was already looking ahead to the playoff and potential matchups there. Great analysis, i think your spot on from what i saw yesterday
Well for sure. Urban Meyer had trenches. He was 7-0. Jim Tressel had trenches. He was 8-1. Ryan Day comes in and brings in a bunch of flashy receivers, and he's 1-4. Guy is an idiot.
Eh... I think that most Buckeyes first coping mechanism is to say Michigan cheated. 2021 - Connor Stallions not even on the sidelines 2022 - Day has stated he knew the had the signs and changed them. 2023 - SignGate came out in week4 and Stallions was fired. 2024 - Errrr... Sane analysis like yours is uncommon. It absolutely is won in the trenches. And will always be won in the trenches.
@@dznutz217 For sure. Ryan Day is an embarrassment. And Chip Kelly even worse. I can give Jim Knowles a pass cuz they played well, but that was ridiculous that he continued to run the ball up the middle when it clearly wasn't working. Sure, try it once in a while, but when you've gotten stuffed after about 4 or 5 times, stop going to it. They did some trap blocking in the second half and started running, and what does he do...goes back to what WASN"T working. That was terrible play calling. And they were getting STUFFED. It wasn't like they were even gaining 3 yards on those carries. They were stopped right at the line every single time.
This isn't rocket science and every commentator is missing it. OSU lost primarily because the field goal kicker missed 2 field goals, the QB threw an awful pass that got intercepted on your own 10 yard line (leading to a UM touchdown) and another interception on the UM 10 yard line (loss of 3, even 7 points). That's a ~20 POINT swing!!! You can have the best coach in the world but if the players don't execute, no coach can save the team.
@@BeersBytheIvy (thankyou). What I hear most in the post game commentary is that OSU stubbornly tried to keep running between the tackles and should have passed more. I agree with both of these perspectives. Both can be blamed on the coaching staff, head coach and offensive coordinator in particular. But in the end, OSU wins the game if they make 2 relatively easy field goals (one commentator said the kicker made 14 in a row, although one stat I read on line indicated he had missed one out of ~10 or 11). The interceptions hurt as well. I guess in the end, a lot of blame goes around.
Watched a dozen or so game responses since The Game ended and your the only one that gave specific reasons for wanting RD/CK fired rather than just ranting. Props to wanting your team to live up to the talent expectations, something my Wolverines lacked pre-Harbaugh. Whenever our talent matched OSU we choked in The Game. Good Luck on the National Title run! Keep it in the B10!
Came as a Michigan fan wanting to bask in the glory but ended up learning more about football. Count me as a fan for the future, regardless of who wins.
I'd go for Marcus Freeman over Mike Vrabel, but I totally agree on Day. Dude gets out-schemed in every game that matters, but their superior talent often carries the day. But if the other team is anywhere close in terms of talent, OSU folds like a cheap suit.
This is a fantastic video! You broke it down very well without the crazy emotional reaction. (Which, to be honest, is what i was looking for). As a Michigan fan I am, of course, am hoping you keep Day for a long time! He cannot coach the big games because he is too concerned with trying to LOOK like he's a tough, hard nosed bad A**. When in reality he is not. He inherited an amazing amount of talent that he effectively used to crush teams like Youngstown State and Northwestern, but can't COACH that talent when matched up with teams that have similar talent... That was brought to light when they lost the last three years against Michigan and instead of coaching and developing to his teams ability, he just went out and tried to BUY a team that he hoped would be able to beat Michigan despite his lack of coaching ability!! (He even hired another Head Coach as his OC to help him!) But even that failed because NFL talent still NEEDS to be utilized correctly.... And he can't do it! Again, great video and I'm adding another sub for you!
M fan here... good video man. I feel for you guys, but am really enjoying this. We had to live through Tressel and Urban and it totally sucks. I wasn't expecting us to win it, and figured it was going to be a blow out. Your grades on Ryan Day are spot on. F for Failure! lol
Great breakdown, I can tell it hurts but you know your stuff. This wasn't like the previous 3 years where it was 2 talented teams in a tight battle where 1 mistake is the difference. Today was Ryan Day and Chip Kelly killing the Buckeyes by 1000 paper cuts of idiotic decisions and Michigan capitlaizing. Love it, Go Blue.
I like your take on it. I'm a UM alum and lifetime fan, but I can empathize with you. Lot of great names from the past, especially Tressel. I hated the guy, but he could flat-out coach. I don't remember his teams being particularly flashy, but they won. I think he was 7-1 or 7-2 vs. Michigan. Loathed him but respected him.
Michigan fan. Solid video and quick analysis. I laughed when you said “Ryan Day F. For failure… to do anything football.” 😂 well said. Missed opportunities for OSU. I think we’re about to turn the corner for a new 10 year war when OSU brings in a new coach.
Ryan Day is James Franklin lite. He chokes in the big games, and plain out did not have your guys in the best position to win. This one's on Day and Kelly
@BeersBytheIvy, I have several. Mike Vrabel, Luke Fickell, Greg Schiano. And probably around 50 coaches from Ohio who would love the job and have balls!
As a Michigan fan, I agree with your analysis, good job. You are also right about JJ. He was a difference maker at QB for us, and kept drives alive in big games. He is what we did not have when Ohio was killing us every year. I think with Bryce, we will have someone who is as good, or better, so the rivalry will be good for the next 3 years. On a side note, you guys crucified your QB last year, and ran him out of town. In my opinion, which does not count for much, he was better than the kid you have now.
I am a huge Ohio state fan, and that loss to Michigan was probably the worst ever, but it may be what Ohio state needs! A wake up call! It’s never easy to lose to your rival, especially when your heavily favored. This might be our Virginia tech loss to wake us up! Michigan definitely came prepared, but our offensive scheme fell right into michigans strength! Ohio state has all of these top receivers but very seldom used them. Tressel always recruited heavy in Ohio because they would fight harder for their state and university. Tressel would always practice plays against Michigan every week during the season, so that the game would always be in their heads! Just throwing talent on the field doesn’t always work. Just ask cooper! But playing from your hearts with the talent you do have will win you championships! Just look at Tressels championship against the hurricanes! We were outmatched in every position, and the hurricanes overlooked us, just like we did to Michigan yesterday! Michigan showed all heart, and deserved the win, but it just may have woke the lion in Ohio state, just like Virginia tech did when they beat us and we destroyed everyone after that, including Michigan, Alabama, and Oregon for the championship. So, thank you michigan! Hopefully we have that same result!
@ Maybe they were in the past, but Ryan is the living breathing embodiment of what OSU is today. The way he stood there pretending to be confused watching his players unravel about the flag plant was a great representation of the program.
UM fan here. Glad you said what I thought about the end of game scrum: When you lose just get off the damn field. Go stew for the next 365 and come back and try to beat the other team's ass. That's college football. Anyways, GG.
A lot people have different opinions. Sounds like we see it the same Please consider subscribing and commenting again. Trying to build something cool here
As a Michigan fan I appreciate how you broke down the game to its essentials. Your main point seems to be that Ohio State built its team one way, but then played the actual game another way. That is an interesting observation. Put another way, they seemed to play the game not to lose, rather than to win. Whereas Michigan played the game to win--albeit their path to victory was very narrow and required Ohio State to play a certain way, which in the event they actually did.
Michigan: We did great, but Ohio did stumble. It happens. Great rivalry. I like watching both teams. Next meeting - same conditions - might be different.
Congrats on the win! Thanks for the comment. Here my new video I think you will like it. I actually look at the film on this one ua-cam.com/video/cpkSQ3a-rBU/v-deo.html
As a 40 year Michigan fan. I agree with your assessment. However, we hope that Ryan Day keeps his job. We believe we can get a few more losses out of him! We will see you in AA next year. 👍

Love the content and honesty. I feel the pain in your voice man.. I actually had a tear come down my face.. don’t agree about the getting off the field because ask yourself would Bo, woody, earl, Lloyd or bo ever do that? They r tougher and more prepared for this game and that’s disappointing. Best WR in nation and we beat our heads against the wall
The problem today was that they tried to "out-tough" Michigan offensively, running it up th gut into the most talented part of Michigan's defense, (now that Will Johnson wasn't playing). You don't have to out tough teams to win, on offense - cuz on defense they did play tough pretty much the whole game and weren't bullied like they had been in recent years. They should've utilized their speed and athleticism in the passing game. This whole narrative about them not being tough enough i think really got to the coaching staff's heads and made them play in a way that their team simply isn't designed for. Not every team has to be a run-it-up-the-middle grinding-it-out sort of team. After all - people forget that it was Meyer's passing attack that torched Harbaugh, so it wasn't like he was resorting to smash-mouth football to get wins over Michigan.
@@TampaDE5 Nothing's more frustrating as a fan to watch a team lose to an inferior opponent largely, if not entirely, due to the coaches underutilizing his assets. Michigan had no passing game, they didn't have JJ throwing to Wilson or Johnson like they had last year to keep them a balanced attack. This year - all they had was running. OSU, has the sort of offensive weapons at every position that any other school could dream of, but they chose to try to win utilizing the one thing they do the worst and the one thing the Michigan defense does the best at stopping - interior rushing
as a 37 yr diehard UM fan who lives in ohio but also just a coll. football freak i sub'd because you seem honest and real. only thing i disagree with is your take on the UM qb situation over the last 20 yrs. IMHO only, most osu fans got used to beating UM & feel entitled like its normal. over this whole rivalry UM has lead by 22, 24 ?? the whole series & osu fans dont see why they had a great run, tressel built a good program then meyer comes in & elevates it while on UM's side carr retires we go 3 or 4 yrs of rich rod then a few yrs of hoke the joke then harbaugh comes in & takes 2 or 3 yrs to reestablish his culture, system & players so IMHO there is why osu had such a great 10yr run vs UM. thx for the vid but PLEASE don't get rid of ryan day!
@BeersBytheIvy Both 1969 and 2024: -New Michigan head coach both times -Buckeyes having one of the most "dominant teams ever assembled" both times -Michigan rebuilding both times -Ohio State favored by (effectively) three score margin both times -Michigan defense found a way to shut off the normally effective OSU run game both times, pass game stymied too. I'll have to dig more later, this is what came off the top of my head.
WHO CARES that Ryan Day beats the crappy teams! That's what GOOD teams are SUPPOSED TO DO! Ryan Day is 1-4 against Michigan, 4-6 against Top 5 teams (with TWO of those wins coming this season), 10-8 against Top 10 teams, and 1-3 in the College Football Playoffs. Sorry, but THAT'S just not good enough! The 1-4 record against Michigan, ALONE, is enough to warrant a pink slip.
@@BeersBytheIvy The obvious choice is to plug in Jim Knowles as the new head coach. He's earned the shot, and he's a TOUGH GUY, too, unlike "Charmin" Day. He also has college head coaching experience.
Mad respect from a Michigan fan. osu beat the soul out of us for so long... but we got our MOJO back. Can't wait for osu to get back to toughness so we can really see some old school smash mouth football like the good old days!! Also pls don't fire poopy pants Ryan, it was really windy and cold.
Michigan fan here. I gotta say Day is an awesome coach. I think if he was fired, not only would OSU maybe lose against Michigan in the future, they’d probably lose against everyone else too, at least for a few years of transition. He’s lethal against 98% of teams. I doubt any college team these days could find a better coach. My point is that OSU probably can’t have it both ways, just like now, not only did they lose against Michigan, but now also likely out of Big 10 Championship and some playoff spots. I can’t stand the guy but Day is a high % winning coach.
Indiana fan here. The fans beat IU at Ohio State. Our team couldn't handle the crowd noise and switching to a silent count allowed your defense to tee off. But officials helped too. The made up "tight end flinched" call when your d tackle jumped into our guard in the first half was pivotal. And the not 1, not 2 but 3 blocks in the back on the punt return that sprung your guy for a td at the start of the second half was the other. I can show you video of both plays on X to prove the point. No one teaches blocking in the back so how did OSU know they would get away with 3? No top team would allow 3 guys to block in the back on one play? Rigged officiating. And it always comes back to bite you in the ass when you play teams on a neutral field with neutral officials. You play soft in big games because you get slanted Big Ten officiating. We've had 3 former HC's fined for calling it out. And our last HC said "well I guess you have to earn the right to get those calls". Earn the right for fair officiating? But you always then go on to lose in the playoffs when you don't get ridiculous calls. That is why OSU is soft.
Can't defend Coach Ryan Day anymore. That loss was unacceptable. Also, he went away from the duel threat Qb that use to dominate the Michigan teams. Ohio St, is too talented to let this happened.
That’s what I am saying. Osu is like the guy who knows karate. And Michigan is a boxer. Strong right and Osu is like but why didn’t my training help me
Ryan day has to go as the head coach. It may not be possible right now, but as soon as a door opens up we should be running through it. This is just so sad to see for all the guys who came back.
Hey man, love your breakdown. As a Michigan fan, I thought we wouldn't stand a chance. With that said, you guys are going on to regroup and play for a natty. So don't jump the gun on firing Ryan Day.
In Jack Sawyers defense he and the defense did their part to win and rightfully defended the field they did for the 60 minutes. It is not their fault the coaches and offense sputtered.
yeah I went back and watched the tape yesterday and I did give Sawyer and the defense the right props. Video here: ua-cam.com/video/cpkSQ3a-rBU/v-deo.html

Michigan fan. I remember the toughness you had under Tressel and Meyer. I remember being jealous of it.
I also remember losing to Texas this year and watching them plant their flag in The Big House, thinking exactly what you said "If you don't want them planting the flag, you should have been them on the field. Better get them next time."
Great content.
I hate swing passes 2. Ryan day is not a leader who can lead through darkness. He’s a sun is shining kind of guy
You're the only cool Ohio fan I just ran into. 💯💯💯💯💯
Thanks! Appreciate you checking out the video
Nice job laying everything out. Agree completely on Day. Keep working and polishing. Like it.
Hey thanks! Appreciate the feedback. You got any thoughts on who should be the next coach?
Penn State fan here. I still cant believe we get to play in Indy next week. I was already looking ahead to the playoff and potential matchups there. Great analysis, i think your spot on from what i saw yesterday
Go win that baby! I am rooting for you guys! Old school big ten vs new school
Buckeyes tend to blame the QBs- CJ Stroud, Kyle McCord, Will Howard. But this game is all about the trenches.
100%. Well said
Well for sure.
2021 - Connor Stallions not even on the sidelines
2022 - Day has stated he knew the had the signs and changed them.
2023 - SignGate came out in week4 and Stallions was fired.
2024 - Errrr...
Sane analysis like yours is uncommon. It absolutely is won in the trenches. And will always be won in the trenches.
@@Antonio-p1bReal Talk. And Day's One Win is really Urban's players.
I think you nailed it. You clearly state so many of the thoughts that I had as I watched the game. Will Howard is NOT a clutch QB. Day needs to go.
@truthhasspoken I agree with this. I think people are saying play after play OSU did not have intensity.

Hey Thank you for giving the video a watch! Appreciate the support and enjoy the win!
I'd go for Marcus Freeman over Mike Vrabel, but I totally agree on Day. Dude gets out-schemed in every game that matters, but their superior talent often carries the day. But if the other team is anywhere close in terms of talent, OSU folds like a cheap suit.
Ya think freeman would leave notre dame? I’ve gone back and forth @sunsin1592
Great analysis! Coming from a Michigan fan. Honesty and bluntness about The Game recap.
@peterwessel8816 - Thanks man! andt thanks for checking out the video. Congrats on the win! Well deserved
(He even hired another Head Coach as his OC to help him!)
But even that failed because NFL talent still NEEDS to be utilized correctly.... And he can't do it!
Again, great video and I'm adding another sub for you!
I enjoy the honesty about the brawl after the game, sorry look for the buckeyes
Great Analysis & Humble Gestures. Fantastic Podcast
Really appreciate the kind words!
So much agree with you on Ryan Day. In over his head.
Vrabel doesn't care for the college game. Frankly its below his level.

@infiniteideas Thanks for nice comment. Thank you for saying this, because it's exactly what I feel. 1000 paper cuts. Enjoy the Win! Well deserved

Hey thanks. Good win. Yeah well we need a new coach. Root for Osu in the cfp. That’s how Ryan’s stays
Ryan Day is James Franklin lite. He chokes in the big games, and plain out did not have your guys in the best position to win. This one's on Day and Kelly
I hate James Franklin. I feel for PSU fans and guess what like you said OSU has James Franklin
Well said fire day.

💯 % Agreed! Fire Ryan Day! 🔥
Any suggestions on who the coach should be?

You hit the nail on the head. Michigan plays like OSU used to with Urban and Tress!!
They honestly do. They run down hill and there D get stops when they need them
Well done bud. Football is won on the line. Go Blue.
Damn right it is. Idk why Day thinks it won on the sidelines

No. No. Hawk Tressel smith gamble vrabel griffin krenzel clarett zek etc

Side note, that is a clean ass jersey.

Hey man….loved the video lol…go blue
Thanks man! Congrats on the win! Well deserved
Very well said. Thick headed play calling instead of winning the game. They couldn't stop the pass the one drive we threw it. Disgusting
Right on! Thank you! How annoying was it to live in ohio as a UM fan?
Who's the best QB in michigan history? @bushcraftohio7320
People rag on Davis Warren. Is a 5 star, a 4 star, a three? Nope. He is a WALK ON!! Let that sink in.
He played with guts
This loss has a lot of parallels to the 1969 game.
Ya gotta educate more. How so?
@BeersBytheIvy Both 1969 and 2024:
-New Michigan head coach both times
-Buckeyes having one of the most "dominant teams ever assembled" both times
-Michigan rebuilding both times
-Ohio State favored by (effectively) three score margin both times
-Michigan defense found a way to shut off the normally effective OSU run game both times, pass game stymied too.
I'll have to dig more later, this is what came off the top of my head.
Solid takes. Well done. It’s time to move on.
Appreciate comment. I agree. Move on.
Good comment here. Yeah to your point. It’s just Michigan. Everything else is cherry on top. Who should be the coach?
@@BeersBytheIvy The obvious choice is to plug in Jim Knowles as the new head coach. He's earned the shot, and he's a TOUGH GUY, too, unlike "Charmin" Day. He also has college head coaching experience.
Mad respect from a Michigan fan. osu beat the soul out of us for so long... but we got our MOJO back. Can't wait for osu to get back to toughness so we can really see some old school smash mouth football like the good old days!!
Also pls don't fire poopy pants Ryan, it was really windy and cold.
I honestly think the only way is to get a new coach. We need smash mount football back. Thanks for checking out the video!
I agree. Bring in Mike Vrabel. He basically has no job right now. He's a consultant for the Cleveland Browns
Pretty much yes
Hire Mike Vrabel as Head Coach and Zac Robinson as OC…
solid, dude.
Thanks man, tough loss. Appreciate the support.
Hey I went to IU, grew up an OSU fan. So fan of both. Here's my breakdown of that game - ua-cam.com/video/iZYeG9qdFUk/v-deo.html
Hell, dude! I’d rather see YOU as OSU head coach at this point! You seem to have a better grasp of the game than Ryan Day!

I've got two words for Ryan Day and Ohio State... Go Blue!
I think that Ryan Day will be coaching the Chicago Bears next year, and he can take Chip Kelly with him!
That would be incredible. He’s better off a pro coach
Strong right and Osu is like but why didn’t my training help me
Dig up woody...
I’ve got like 500 comments today between the socials and this is by far the most creative
Isn't he the guy that accused Bo and the winner Michigan of cheating in the 1969 game in Ann Arbor? No, he's the coach who punched that player.
Ryan day has to go as the head coach. It may not be possible right now, but as soon as a door opens up we should be running through it. This is just so sad to see for all the guys who came back.

In Jack Sawyers defense he and the defense did their part to win and rightfully defended the field they did for the 60 minutes. It is not their fault the coaches and offense sputtered.
