It may just be those 2 particular buffalo that like jumping fences. It will be interesting to see if there are different ones that jump next time.

Your herd looks amazing from what I can tell. It's a big increase from the 5 or so you had.

I wonder if permanent exterior fences with higher temporary electric interior fencing could work for you, that way your only really moving and dealing with the interior fences , that said probably isnt the cheapest idea and you'll be putting in alot of infrastructure work permanently which may not be something you want forever as far as land development -- Just some Random Canadian checking in ( we like your channel for its honesty and insights!)

You might have to look into a permanent fence & just have gates in everywhere to let them rotate around.
I know about the cost whether it's temporary or permanent. We only have 6 acres total, about 4 in pasture & we need to put up some sorry of field fencing to keep the goat's from wondering, the cow's & horse respect the barbed wire, goat's don't give rip. And now that we have HOA neighbor's, don't want them whining abt the goat's trespassing. It'll be over $2k, just for fencing for 1 section. So I feel your pain, the temp wasn't any better, at least not with the electric (net) fencing. Good luck. Might have to make your own custom post's for the temp fencing? 🤔

I'm pretty sure you said this on one of your previous videos but I figured I would just ask… How much current do you run through your exterior high tensile fences?

It’s putting out 6.5-7.5 right now but I am hoping to get it up closer to 9 or 10. I’m going to try grounding the charger that I have currently a little better and if that does not work, I will have to switch out chargers.

@@BrokenArrowBison thank you for the info! I am currently expanding my fences and definitely think I need to bump up the juice. For grounding, I currently have three 8-foot copper rod about 7.5 feet down, approximately 9 feet apart and about 8 feet from the charger. Thank you for responding so promptly!

That sounds pretty adequate on the grounding rods as long as you have good ground moisture. Anytime!

What about the posts that Greg Judy uses? He has utube with videos on what he uses. Shure his are not bison but cattle yet that is what your using. Also you could have done what is used to keep deer out & that is double fence with alleyway between. Since bison think more wild like deer it might work & could be discontinued when shock fence trained.

I have gotten behind on my yt channels so I have been out of the loop. I have never raised livestock so what do I know? I have watched a few chicken farmers and if they have a chicken (primarily roosters) that get out of hand and will not play by the rules that chicken becomes their next meal. I know that would be extreme measure on your part. I guess you are just going to have to out smart them. Could make that part of the fencing more robust? I doubt if they would attempt to jump any metal post. That solution is more of a financial outlet.
