I love the Art-Toolkit products. My go-to paint palette box is the original size with 28 mini pans. With that many colors I don’t need much mixing space. I also have couple of the demi-palettes (not shown) that hold 12. With one of those you can put together a really tiny pocket kit! Must get one of those bands next time I order from them.
Ohhh! 28 colours is AWESOME. How do you like your Demi kit? The bands are really strong, a lot stronger than I thought, and they don't wear out easily, which was my initial worry. They just snap back together like new!
Art Toolkit makes some very nice travel palettes. I have two and the Folio is my favorite one, the size is perfect for me. Cheers and happy painting! 🎨🖌
Lol I already have so many travel palettes but dang I am going to have to get one of these. I really want to get the large one. I am afraid to go check there sight out seems like they have so much stuff than I originally thought the did. Thank you for the video, it was very good.
What size is the zipper one you have? They have 2 sizes available. Thanks. Also, would you sometime do a review of your pochade box in one of your other videos. Thanks!
YT randomly recommended this and the video was SO good I’m now your 190th sub! ❤️🤩 Thank you for the awesome review, I do actually desperately want that drawn to high places one now, so sucks for me 🤣😂
@@beckyisj im looking for a dupe for this lmao since i am from faaaar awayyyyy place 😭😂 i found out that i can make it with a slim/ pocket business card case and just buy an empty make up pans 😂 thank you for the review ! ❤️
Is the Art Toolkit case itself softshell or hard shell? Can you bend it in half or is there something making it rigid to allow using that for sketching on top of?! Thanks for this review, I've been eyeing the set for some upcoming trips! ❤ from Kentucky - Courtney
Thanks for the question, Courtney! The canvas case (the blue one) is soft so you can't really sketch on top of it unless you put something inside (e.g. a watercolour pad)
Think it's bound to happen with how much water touches the pan (since it's WATERcolour after all). Personally it doesn't really bother me but the folks at Art Toolkit may have some tips for you!
@@beckyisj curious to know is it just for ease of use while on the go sketching? i see the appeal there for the water brushes but even the nicer japanese ones vs the cheap mass market no name US craft store brand s always too much trouble for me though i’d love to figure out how to adapt my watercolor sketch method or color strategy to work from water brushes like you do - coming from a chronic water cup spiller (even clips and magnets don’t stand a chance against my clumsiness 🤡🤡)
@@sayat_nova yup I bring around my waterbrush because it's a lot more convenient. It takes a bit of getting used to but it's easier to set up and use when I'm out (I don't need a flat surface to hold my water cup at all, so I can stand anywhere). Would recommend giving it a go!
Very informative video. You sure do have a plenty of their products- and that gold pallete though WOW. I really like how compact the sets are- and really like the toolkit pouch- everything is handy! I'm currently using the Portable Painter regular and mini for my wc needs and a seaable pallete for gouache. I would like to know if you have problems keeping your colors from mixing since there's hardly any separation of the pans. And is the mixing space stain resistant/ difficult to clean. Thanks for the review!
Oh gosh yeah I have an irrational love for their products. The mixing space just needs a wet cloth wipe down, although some staining colors (e.g. some yellows) do stain. I have heard that toothpaste or brush soap works to get those stubborn stains out but I haven't tried them. As for mixing separation - the colours do end up together if I use a lot of water, so if that's how you paint, you might need a separate palette filled with just the mixing trays. I work one color at a time when outside so I'm able to do 2 colors at the top and another at the bottom right for my setup, but the great thing is it's customizable so you can do whatever fits you! I've also heard good things about portable painters - their ability to hold a lot of water is to envy for!
Oh! I meant the paints in the pans. Like they're so close together I'd worry if after I was done painting they would bleed together. Most palletes have thick pan walls fir the paints- the one here are so thin! 😆
@@SereneStudio ohh!!! My bad. I don't experience that at all. Not sure what sourcery is involved but once the paint dries in the pans, they stay really put

They really do! I'm really amazed at how resistant they are even when I've been using it for probably almost two years now. So good!
So helpful, thanks for sharing

Thank you for the kind words! These palettes are really awesome, I love that they're small enough to fit in pockets and really tiny spaces

This is the smaller pocket one that holds the 3.5x5.5 sketchbooks. And yes, I'll be reviewing that Pochade box as well :)
Thanks for sharing really interesting
Pocket palette: As soon as you said magnetic pans, i went ohhhhhh. That’s a great idea!

ah that is so nice to hear, thank you so much! Hopefully Art Toolkit does more cool collabs this year ☺️
what neat looking teeny palettes
They really are!
Does the folio palette fit into the pocket toolkit case? Thanks 😊
Just tried it out - it does in the biggest pockets inside where you insert the sketchbook on both sides ☺️

At 3 minutes and 40 seconds you take one of the pans out of the pallet exposing rust. So how is it rust proof?

One more question. what size of travel brushes do you use? By the looks of them, they're da vinci?
yes these are the Da Vinci Cosmotop! But I nowadays use my waterbrushes a lot more often :)

@Keke Serene A bit of mingling in the hot tub never hurt anyone! 😇
I wish I knew how to get this.
You can get it through their website or their retailers :) arttoolkit.com/retailers/
These are so small - great for very tiny drawings and sketches.
