I'm a dual citizen (became Filipino again on Oct 31, 2023) and I plan on doing winters in the Philippines and summers back in Canada. My dad does that right now, he lives in Calgary during the warmer months and goes back to the Philippines, but keep in mind he owns his own business so he isn't very hands on with his company.
It is very difficult to live only on CPP and OAS. Today maximum benefit from both for a single person is $2130 per month Pero you need to have contributed the max amount for 40 years. You will know that you've reached the max when you see that CPP is no longer deducted from your pay today that requires an income of just over $60,000. Mas madali if you have a spouse since both of you will be eligible. Ang sinasabi ko Lang you cannot rely only on government pensions you need to save and invest on your own.

You get use to it Alwin, We too we go for holiday during winter. Stay put here in Calgary during summer. We travel not only Philippines but all over the world except Africa and South America. Just been to Europe . The best way to clear the snow is a blower or snow blower it’s fast and you’ll enjoy it.. 😂

The hirap esp this Winter is real. Homesick 100%, the layering of clothes, the commute during Winter and the idea of having to stay at home vs enjoying the outdoors the way we do in PH.
Pag lumabas ka ng bahay ng walang gloves, thermal and toque, mapapaiyak ka sa inis at lamig at mapapasabi ng "ayoko na!" nanjan pa ung if you are a commuter, you have to get used to walking on snowy pathways na may black ice. malas mo if hindi nag-shovel si neighbor, masakit itapak eventually. Malls close early unlike SM in PH. Delayed buses and trains pag Winter due to heavy snow fall or accidents (still due to weather). Pero sabi nga sanayan lang. Cool weather vs init, traffic vs convenient transpo, low income vs mid-class PH rate even in part time job. Ipon malala then uwi for retirement 😅
My elderly friends in church with family in Australia go there for 6 mons.during winter here in the UK🇬🇧

M from California.. a lot of Canadians bought properties in my hood. They fly here during winter time there.. for six months. They are called SNOWBIRDS. They start going back home… around March or April… when Canada is clear of snow.

@@alwinemmamy parents in laws ,I helped them to come here after 10 years of living here they received pension but they cannot stay in the Philippines for a whole year or else pension will be cutoff they only allowed 6 months to stay in Philippines that’s why they leave during winter time and back in summer time.But if you worked and at least live here for 40 years you can retired in any country you wish to ,without worrying your pension will be cutoffs

It's winter, and you're in Canada. Is that all you have to vlog every day about shoveling, the cold temperature? Dapat ang may ari ng bahay ang mag shovel. You don't have to shovel that snow. it's nothing. What will happen if you own a house? Your own driveway is full of snow. You have to stretch out before shoveling and physically fit.
Masarap lang ang Canada kung bayad na ang bahay mo at wala kang masyadong utang,iwas luho. Kain tulog trabaho lang buhay sa Canada swerte lang kung yayaman ka syempre may kasama pang RACISM hindi biro ang buhay sa first world country.
