Ohhhh man... I had no IDEA that Sengoku Dynasty had made it all the way to 1.0 already!! You spoil me stupid with these amazing videos! THANK YOU CrypticFox! Feudal Japan survival/base builder game was not on my bingo card, however, I'll take it ANY day of the week! Looks so damn good! SMH....
I played close to 80 hours so far in the game it is a bit super grindy early on. However once you get say 20-30 villagers it does because more fun. Basically you then start to get into the swing of things. And you get the basics like water-wood-food-gathering done by your workers. You still need to help them along the way ofc but its not so bad early on. Also do not forget if you feel like its too much go into custom game and you can tweak it. For example you can instantly build a house with one hit nearly if you have all the resources so it does save time. Fun game and in a nice setting. Another game you may want to take a look at is Medieval Dynasty :)
It's probably worth noting that traditional japanese shovels were basically just an oar with a slightly shorter paddle section, which the game depicts pretty accurately. Being made of a single solid piece actually helps them live up to the "rugged and durable" description. Very simple, but solid *because* of that fact, not in spite of it.
Not sure if you are planing of playing this again but there is an option in the settings that you can build a part of the building automatically with one click. Im posting this an hour in to the stream much love enjoying the content 4 years
So, I loved the vibe of Medieval Dynasty, but Sengoku Dynasty looks even more like something I need to get, because it's Feudal Japan... man when I finally own a PC I'll be having quiet the list to work through
To answer the question in the chat yes the publishers are the same but different developers. :) The games are similar but different. I have played both games. Also yes falling trees do not hurt you but they do in MD :). Also bears in both games.
@@CrypticFoxGaming If it helps, the most common bears in Japan are a native species of black bear, and they're much smaller than the common brown bear found in medieval europe. ...unless the devs also put the ussuri/ezo bear in, because those can compete in size with kodiaks. Given their traditional territory though, that seems less likely :)
It seems like toplitz has a thing for finding different developers to make dynasty games. They also have a Wild West and upcoming vampire dynasty game. Haha
Those two games arent the best in my opinion but Medieval and Sengoku have come along way. Even at 1.0 They are still actively being worked on. Medieval Dynasty is getting an update is 27th. Anyways its good fun.

Yeah they had a successful Dynasty game a few years ago and they're riding that pony :)
