I like the genuine awe from Alec learning the ways that Sam has perfected the process of this design. Can't wait to see a team up with Will. Maybe a tour of his new shop?
11:07 There's something so satisfying and cool about using a hammer you've made as a tool to make another hammer. Like making a table on the floor, then making another table on top of the first one.

hay alec i just want to thank you in being the one who got me into bladesmithing. its been a struggle over the years and people telling me I cant do it (btw I'm 13) but im now making knives and selling them. so again i thank you .
As someone who is a big lover of Jigs, templates, and mass production techniques to speed up a build, I hope Sam is paid "by the hammer" instead of by the hour :D haha
I really like this video because it shows how blacksmithing can be turned into an actual business. Rather than make a single very cool, high complexity item, you are making a highly (hopefully) profitable item.
Wow this was awesome. Well done bud. And thanks Alec for giving us a behind the scenes of your business and the people running it, other than yourself. Really loved this video and the awesome presentation.
That was freaking dope. Sam you're an absolute boss. You have the nailed and the number of times you got Alec to say that's insane was many. Thanks for a behind the scenes on those beautiful tools. And great bandana man.
Hello Alec, welcome back to the US I'm looking forward to see your upcoming videos. Hope you had a great time with your family and glad you made it back safely. Take care, my best to you and yours. R. Chavez
Man I’m so glad you shared this video with us. You have an amazing team with you, and I just love your enthusiasm showing even how even a master blacksmith can still learn from the skilled people you’ve hired and trained. Many companies can learn a thing or two from just this video alone on what an employer should be like, and how it turns a business into a fun place to be at.
i suppose production blacksmithing is a thing that is rarely done nowadays, drop/press forging with full dies is just so much faster and more consistent, but that consistency is the difference between soulless mass production and artisan craftsmanship. this is the ultimate refinement of this craft, that man needs to be paid more!
I have been hitchhiking 9 countries over seven years all throughout europe, only to learn how to forge knifes and swords. I have visited hundreds if smiths of all sorts for my passion. If id have known that you would visit Croatia, id almost die to see you, since your passion and love for what you do comes extremely close to my mindset. Sam looks like the kind of guy to respond to everything with "Radical" or "Totally duude", and before anyone gets their knickers in a twist, I look pretty much exactly the same lol. Loved seeing this process!
Sam's a damn Lone Ranger stud. Dude is up there just cranking out hammers, coming up with his own processes - making it happen with his dog. Great addition. And I truly hope to see Will and Alec together in a video collab soon.
I love that he got more comfortable being on camera and talking as the video went on. It can be intimidating, but he's a nature. you should do more with him!
Really glad to see you back in the states Alec. I've been watching your videos since pretty much the beginning and you deserve everything you have. Good work picking great people to work with.
There is a guy who lives down the street who is tactical training his Belgian Malinois dog. Like full police dog training. I sometimes see him training in a big field within sight of my kitchen window. The dog is incredibly responsive and instantly obeys hand signal, verbal and sound commands. It's amazing to see.
Glad to see you back Alec, was starting to get worried. Still wish you'd drop RAID as a sponsor, as they are a predatory company that takes advantage of their customers and aren't really worth putting your name to. All the same, glad you're well, and would love to see some more heat, beat, repeat on the channel!
Welcome back to the states Alec. Good to see you and Sam together in the shop. Maybe do a collab with him and will on a sword? And where is Yogo? Hopefully they all get along with Bella!
If there's a competition like Forged In Fire, but for hammers, Sam needs to go on it to show them how it's done!! He'd be the only contestant to make the hammer, go out for a quick lunch break and be back before the time is up! That would be really satisfying to watch but it would probably be a bit brutal on the other contestants 🤣😂🤣😂 That video was a thing of beauty, thanks for the behind the scenes look 👍👍👍

I have followed you for years. Since you were at your small shop and very young. Then come to find out you were in my small town in Missouri and I missed it. I can’t believe it! If you ever come back through maybe you can give me pointers on my shop setup.

Alec, your hammers look great the only major improvement they could use is to make them with an elongated octagonal handle. A rectangle handle with heavily chamfered corners make for the most comfortable handles. Look at the wooden handles on snap-on body hammers if you need a reference.
