      Miles was never bad off. Sure, in the early days with Charlie Parker, one of his idols. He done somthin about his heroin problem unlike just about everyone on this track and made it out, well into his 60s. Many of the great ones died young during the magical 50s Golden era.

    "Kind of Blue" is not "one of Miles most celebrated albums..." It's actually, one of the most celebrated albums in the history of recorded music. This tune is not from "Kind of Blue" but thanks very much for posting it.

      This recording of Love For Sale does appear on the re-released legacy version of Kind Of Blue. It was originally released on 1958 Miles, though. I think it is relevant to Kind of Blue because it was an earlier experiment with some modal playing, with Bill Evans on piano.

    This was a 1958 job, not Kind of Blue... besides, no one ever played it better than Parker.. he was so true to the tune, and thats what it is all about. Adderley is just funny, he was such a sandbagging nuisance on Blue.. and Miles cant even play it right here . He struggled with many tunes after all, most notably Monks Round Midnight. I´m no hater, mind you... I love his slurred notes.. the empty spaces between notes .. it makes a great impact to the story telling, and music is all about that

    • @robertwoodward9231
      @robertwoodward9231 22 дні тому

      Yes Miles had been playing what's called a modal style and he was using the mute can more often. This is my least favorite song on the great Something Else album and side two is just incredible. One of the best jazz albums, all time! I didn't care much either for his take on Round Midnight but he kept to the changing tides of music and seldom if ever looked back. Bitches Brew is a great example.

      You're not looking very hard for this kind of music then.
      Jazz is very much alive, its simply in the cracks.

    Wonderful of course - but if interested try the Philip Catharine solo on the same tune . On "Strollin'" (with Chet Baker)

    In 1959 I only pretended to understand this. Then after a life, I don't try anymore.

    How is it possible that the official miles davis channel labels this tune as if it belongs to kind of blue? Shame on you algorithm

    "Love For Sale" is not on the Miles Davis album "Kind Of Blue".
    Check out "Love For Sale" on Cannonball Adderley's album "Something Else". ua-cam.com/video/-s3dKqx0PbI/v-deo.html
    Miles plays on that album,

    Sorry, I'm not sure if this is Wynton Kelly or Bill Evans on Piano for this track. It's hard to tell me; the piano solo doesn't pop as very characteristic of either of their styles. Any confirmations?

    OK...here's what I have found according to my knowledge and quick web research this was never on the '58 miles album not even as a bonus track on a re-release, BUT, it is listed as being on the 40th anniversary edition (or maybe it was the legacy edition) whatever, Miles website and Wikipedia seem to agree. So that's good enough for the MILES FREAKY FANATIC
    PS FUCK THE STATS AND WHAT ALBUM ETC JUST SHH AND LISTEN
