Lyrics:
Love for sale
Love for sale
(Sweet love)
Love for sale
(Lots and lots of young love)
Love for sale
For anyone out there who is not a jazz fan, if you listen to this masterpiece, you will become one. 😎
Imagine following Miles Davis Cannonball Adderly and John Coltrane yet somehow Bill Evans totally does it and takes over the song for his solo. One of the coolest recordings ever
Every time I listen to it it’s like I’m being born again
#the best
na cannonball owned the song not evans was the weakest solo lol!
@@samtothegyo what you’re out of your mind bro. The Evan’s solo is is so creative and just awesome
Many consider "Kind Of Blue" the greatest jazz album of all time. They will get no arguments from me.
I agree.
It is No secret that the working girls kept Miles alive When he was worst of in the sixties, and Thankyou girls!
"Kind of Blue" is not "one of Miles most celebrated albums..." It's actually, one of the most celebrated albums in the history of recorded music. This tune is not from "Kind of Blue" but thanks very much for posting it.
This recording of Love For Sale does appear on the re-released legacy version of Kind Of Blue. It was originally released on 1958 Miles, though. I think it is relevant to Kind of Blue because it was an earlier experiment with some modal playing, with Bill Evans on piano.
@@roseshipley9855 Correction taken. Thank you. When I got Kind of Blue in 1959 I pretty much wore out my first copy and bought a second! 😎
Cool....the JOINT!!!!
@@roseshipley9855 this isn't modal at all
Each soloist brings their total originality to their solos . I think it's great how different Cannonball's and Coltrane's solos actually are . The whole feel is so different.
When Cannonball comes in, it's one of the most thrilling moments in music, ever.
+Tom Djll I keep coming back to this recording just because of that cannonball entrance. It's like he steps up to the plate and just exclaims, "Step aside gents! This is how it's done." Love this recording.
Absolutely!
I was watching a doco recently on Kind of Blue and the guy said that Cannonball was playin' as if he was being paid by the note. Jesus!!!
i think maybe cannonballs solo on this tune is the best ever made over "love for sale" changes
Its just perfect
That is nasty when he comes in, He was so good!
Cannonball is absolutely titanic on this track
When it hits 3:39 omg that’s my favorite part😩
He was awesome
Cannonball's solo is my fav of all time
probably one of Coltrane's calmest solos over an up tempo tune
Ahaa...yeah
what a way to play a head... good taste & elegance.
thank you for the music miles
Wow, this "Love for Sale" is the ultimate cool!!! Cant get much cooler than this.
Charlie Parker's version?
It’s so friggin good it puts tears in my eyes
Cannonball, the Coltrane. Back to back. Potent stuff.
back when jazz was jazz.
It actually feels like Coltrane doesn't know what to do with this song.
@@baguettedepain3975 well thats your feeling then, but how do you know, right?
@@alessiocazzettamusic Maybe because i transcribed analyzed and played his stuff and studied his life more that you can even fathom :)
@@baguettedepain3975 lol. lmao. ok
Bill Evans , one of the best comp[ dudes ever.
I would say this is best track i have heared from Miles Davis It is my favourite as there are also some big stars playing here such Bill Evans, Cannonball Adderley and John Coltrane
One of best jazz numbers ever, cannonball was amazing.not kinda blue, not modal, but awesome!
The greatest innovator of all time.
miles was awesome on this one
Cannonball,s soloing is exhilarating as always. What a crew! Exuberance for days!😎😎😎😎
All I Can Say is? "Classic!❤😮😊
3:39 omg😩🔥
Miles davis is a legend. Love this song. However, Imma sample this real quick.
Not everybody's taste; I know, but I love this kind of music :-) !
Yeah, I can't stand when performers make this tune melancholy
so what!
Father Leo Clifford said, when God made you He broke the mold. He must have been overjoyed when Miles came back.
Probably my favorite Miles Davis song and it's all because of the interplay between him and Cannonball. Unreal levels of hype occur when he comes in
Quarantine and chill with a glass of wine, looking out the window at some big beautiful majestic trees and vibing to Miles. Does not get any better than this, except being in a beach house on a hill looking out the ocean.
You're absolutely right Take a glass of wine or some cocktail
Put jazz songs in the background, just relax and get into the atmosphere.
Jimmy Cobb rimshot on the four in Trane´s solo is the clock of my life.
Life changing music.

In my opinion Bill Evans is the master on this recording 😍
se deshacen en la boca :)
This is such a BIG part of my life! I am appalled to just see 36,891 likes! This is GENIUS'S at work!
+Carole Tallerino We like it (love it, actually), and know why. That's all that matters.
It has nowhere near that many likes.
The best romantic jazz tune ever
Shawn Shorter ...This is one of them.
This never gets old
Chet Baker's interpretation of "Love for Sale" is outstanding as well. Type in Chet Baker- Love For Sale (1985) and thank me later 😉
man, am I stuffed to the gills!! Cannonball, that was a most tasty solo!
A classic!
Timeless and lasting for ever as long as memory works!
Like that one tree on lake wanaka. Music flows, stormy times. Rifts of music slides. Captures emotion. Like a photograph. On a reflection. Just want to come back. For more

#1 Jazz Master💙
SIMPLISMENTE INCRIVEL!!
105 people confused the thumbs down button for the thumbs up button. That's the best explanation I have here.
Hi thanks for posting that song, great version of "Love for sale" but i think it was on "1958 Miles", not "Kind of Blue". Miles Davis (tpt); Cannonball Adderley (as); John Coltrane (ts); Bill Evans (p); Paul Chambers (b); Jimmy Cobb (d)
+Guiohm Deruffi it was on the 50th anniversary version
ok Jack thanks for letting me know, i didnt know that.
It was the Kind of Blue session. Miles called for "Love for Sale" to give the band a break from the modal. . .mode. A jam.
I don't believe this is true either Ben Bowen
@@christiansepulveda1440 The 1958 quintet recordings were included as bonus tracks in a 50th anniversary release of Kind of Blue! That may explain the album art chosen for this video, however they are still from separate sessions! This song is included on a disc alongside Stella By Starlight, Fran-Dance, and On Green Dolphin Street. www.amazon.ca/Kind-Blue-Anniversary-Miles-Davis/dp/B001D08SK0
GREAT.
beautiful
Great track to chill with!
Great stuff, but why is it that when I put this as a Craigslist ad for my record collection, it kepts getting flagged and removed...ohhhh.
Record companies do that so you can't reuse it without paying. It's happened to me
I used 2 have this slow jam on cd by the late Miles Davis.Thank God 4 UA-cam
YEAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH
Extraordinaire Pure bonheur de Plaisir Totalement magnifique
Wow ❕
Very sweet love for sales
Yoooo, this goes haaaaardd🔥🔥
This is so good!
Bill Evans ❤️
exquisito gran melodía. thanx for sharing.
How ? What ? ♥️😍🤩
Ascoltando la sua musica ti sembra di vedere le periferie americane desolate ,senza speranze, disperarate.Talento unico!!
Que hermoso tema lo lindo esa trompeta con sordina y la entrada de trane descomunal. Hermoso disco una locura todo.
Who the heck are the 'life impaired' who put 'thumbs down' on this?
Racists, and ppl with no taste in music🤷🏾♂️

Baby I Appreciate the Mixes you do i noticed after the 2nd mix it was like way is the like button pushed already about the 3rd or 4th song it was like almost all of these tunes were what I liked So Thank you for the mixes💋👀🖤😊
They don't make music like this anymore.
Yes they do. Check out Cyrille Aimee's version with Roy Hargrove and Joel Frahm
You're not looking very hard for this kind of music then.
Jazz is very much alive, its simply in the cracks.
They sure don't many try to imitate but so what??
❤️
Traccia per tutte le generazioni!

sei un mito non tramonti mai uaooooooooo uaoooooooo
In 1959 I only pretended to understand this. Then after a life, I don't try anymore.
How is it possible that the official miles davis channel labels this tune as if it belongs to kind of blue? Shame on you algorithm
This was a 1958 job, not Kind of Blue... besides, no one ever played it better than Parker.. he was so true to the tune, and thats what it is all about. Adderley is just funny, he was such a sandbagging nuisance on Blue.. and Miles cant even play it right here . He struggled with many tunes after all, most notably Monks Round Midnight. I´m no hater, mind you... I love his slurred notes.. the empty spaces between notes .. it makes a great impact to the story telling, and music is all about that
Getting me and L there thru the day.
And Love for Sale does not belong to Kind of Blue but to Something Else. The leader is Cannonball Adderley
that is another version..this version was recorded in 58..different band all together
Thank you (the one who posted this masterpiece from Miles and the team !. I have the Kind of Blue CD and the song is not included...
Tony & Gaga are coming!
yeaaaaaaa
im so exciteeeed!!
Yeah!
That's why jazz is so exciting and vibrant, possibilities always exist, this Miles Davis version is incredible, Tony and Lady Gaga build on that without the improvisations, who knows what version people may listen to in 2077?
cannonballs solo is greater than gagas version of that song!
Wow! Bill Evans really stretched out on this one!
Wonderful of course - but if interested try the Philip Catharine solo on the same tune . On "Strollin'" (with Chet Baker)
The music on the radio today can't even hold a candle to something like this. Cardi B and Lizzo... eat your hearts out!
there is absolutely no reason to compare the two lol
My man!😃
This is good ain't it
This wasn't on the radio either, not even back in '59. Completely apples to oranges.

Sorry, I'm not sure if this is Wynton Kelly or Bill Evans on Piano for this track. It's hard to tell me; the piano solo doesn't pop as very characteristic of either of their styles. Any confirmations?
It's Bill Evans
Yeah it caught my attention too. If its Bill Evans then I love him even moar
