I am at a really f'ed up period in my life and decided to turn things around. I am tired, lost and frustrated but also pissed at a degree not even i could imagine but the good thing is that when i am pissed my motivation also goes on hulk mode. I just downloaded the template as a first step and it looks like i don't have many worthy stuff to put in it especially considering how late i am to be starting this. Looks like i have to sit down and work on different ideas, designs etc. not because it is needed for education or business but just so i can have something to show. Maybe work on a few softwares which i haven't used before and add them in there. I will need a lot of guidence and support for sure but i know it is silly to expect too much from someone who is busy and just trying to help out. I will follow your videos and am sure the information you are sharing will help to a degree. Thanks for the tips and sharing the template 👍
I just graduated with my bachelors in architecture two months ago, and this was very very very helpful! thank you so much for making it so much easier to join the scary real world (:
I've been procastinating on starting my portfolio for a while now and this just gave me the motivation and tools I've been looking for! Thank you so much!
I'm not an architect, but a mechanical engineer. It's interesting to see how other disciplines in the design field go about doing the same thing in a different way. Like you said, LEED is so important, and not just for architects, but for civil engineers as well: air ducting, water usage/insulation, pump/chiller efficiencies, etc.
I'm finishing my Interior and Spatial Design degree and I was losing motivation to keep up the hard work for a number of reasons... You're a huge help and motivator to keep going, thank you for your work and your dedication. I like how you just take a few concepts, broadly explaining the way to go about them and then provide visual references to understand what you mean by that. I'm baffled by the amount of people (of professionals!) that will talk about something (e.g. my Portfolio class professor) and then provide you either a flimsy .ppt - or just nothing - to help you visualise it and learn how to do it yourself. But then they expect a beautiful InDesign layout as a result because, like you said, it has become an industry standard! I wish traditional educating institutions would hire competent teachers with the skills they require their graduates to have at the end of their studies. I understood more about portfolios from your 20min video on YT than in 4 months of Portfolio class ❤
Absolutely agree! I have hard time learning from the professionals around me because they're underqualified in this subject or they recommend youtube or other resources. I hope we all get to work with competent and inspiring teachers. Wish you the best of luck and fulfillment with your works!
thank you so much for this! recent grad here, just what i needed to get my butt up and start working on my portfolio. the horror of reworking on previous designs i dont like anymore is a major setback! thank for being crisp and clear and real af! Def subscribing!
Yes making and remaking your portfolio can get pretty draining..! Sometimes you just have to give yourself a deadline and say enough is enough 😁 good luck!!!
i just quit my job a week back and have been in the cycle of condensing work for my portfolio. As unemployed as I am, I feel encouraged and informed after watching this video, thanks for sharing this Dami
Thank you so much!! I'm a freshman at Architecture school and this is very helpful for me to get a head start in terms of collecting my works and preparing my portfolio!
I was waiting for the universe to give me a sign to finally start my portfolio. I guess this is it. I also can't wait for the next videos for the series. I'm going job hunting late this month and let me tell you,,, I will remember this favor * dami scary face* forever
Thank you so much. Aside from architecture , the way you talk and persuade is so captivating. I love how you go smoothly from professional to personal to professional again. You make me love the job even more.
I’ve been out of undergrad for two years now and have found videos like these really helpful in continuing to craft my portfolio and professional presence. Thank you!
Just graduated a few months ago, I'm nervous about what's to come professionally, but very excited!! Thanks for being a part of these first steps for many of us, Dami! :)))

Dami, you’re great!🙌 super relatable while also having experience and insight on where I want to be. Keep it up👍
Thank you, Dami for sharing. I am already inspired to move faster, with new ideas, about upgrading my portfolio's version. It has been a matter of time and learning new software, etc. which I am happy I did... ... from hand sketches/ drawings to new software. I have proved myself: "No matter our age/ generation, instead how motivated are we to keep us updated for...". That has been my key! Thank you so much for all the tools and your great sharing attitude.. 🥰♻️
Hi Architect Dami, sharing your thoughts and ideas about the architecture profession was really a great idea. Architecture might sounds scary, especially for us who are having a hard time to grow and improve our skills, but hearing some words of wisdom from the experts really helped us to be more interested and appreciate the beauty of our Profession.
Thank you very much Architect Dami, I am a fourth-year architecture student who is currently looking for my very first internship job, I do feel stress and frustration, your video did help me! I appreciate it!
As usual, great video. I especially appreciate how detailed the breakdown is. A lot of other videos are a bit general about the content of a portfolio. And thanks for the template! But can we speak about how masterful your transition into the ad was? Bravo, LOL!
Im getting addicted to you , cuz you're honest and very open about the stress of being an architect and the diferent mental phases of the process , and still chasing the dream of that one project that'll change the world forever but get slapped every day by the diferent client needs. Honestly honestly u encourage me to still be positive about this industry ,keep up the great vibes

This video was extremely helpful! Thank You. As a full professional now with 4 years of experience now seeking to my second firm job, it was a bit rough to imagine what employers are looking for with a few years out of school. This allowed me to re-imagine my portfolio from a few years back and make it better.

Commenting to comment but to be honest, it shows that you've put interest in producing this video. The voices, the script, the graphics and photography skills.
Hi Dami, first of all many thanks for all these wonderful videos, I found you through *the other platform* and quickly became addicted. I have been watching most of your videos and finding them very inspirational. I am an Architect/Urban Planner graduated in Brazil, and have been living in the UK for the past 7 years. It's been for sure a challenging adventure and due to the fast pace in the industry here I have been procrastinating to do updaties on CV, Portfolio and etc. May I ask if these are still available on the website? Tried getting to the right place but links seem to be broken. Hope you see this eventually!
Hi Dami!! I'm so happy to discover your UA-cam channel! I'm currently a student in interior design in France, and I totally agree with your way of explaining the difference between architecture and interior design. By the way, I'm still struggling with my studies, especially the "concept" step and when I have to create the floorplan after completing my "esquisse" step. It's so hard to transition from drawing to a scaled plan and to implement your concept onto it. But I love learning step by step how to develop a concept from something intangible, just in your head, to something tangible that you can touch, smell, see with your eyes, and most importantly, live in. Thanks for sharing your experiences :)

Very helpful. I have been staring at my screen for days unable to start. Now I am excited to.
thank you so much dami , you are my first go to in anything in career and school path
Thank you so much! As someone who wants to begin internships, I had no idea where to start.
Thank you for sharing Dami, this was helpful. Please kindly repost the template for the portfolio.
I just got my bachelors in Architecture, thanks , this is really helpful, and i look forward to learning more from you.... thanks again.
