I am also interested in the thread boxes. Awesome video. I'm ready to replace a needle and I was dreading it but not after seeing this video. Thank you.
+Redvixen511 You will NEVER regret buying a smocking pleater, especially if you do a lot of smocking. I started by using Grace Knott's pleating dots--a very time-consuming way of creating the pleated fabric for smocking. It takes a little practice (not much) to use a smocking pleater, but the results are worth the money when you see how evenly and smoothly the pleats are formed.
I bought one Martha Pullen sewing smocking 24 rows. But when I search where I can buy the needles, the seller told me is no 24 Martha Pull sewing is 16 rows. The question is where I bought he told me the Martha Pull is 24. I do not know any about this kind of sewing. I bought it for my sister who’s like to do this kind of work. Also i bought it with or needles so do I have to buy only needles what fix on this machine, hope you can resolver my questions
Laurie, I just got a Read pleater and when I go to place the needles into the machine they fall out before I can even get the second needle placed any suggestions?
I am interested in finding out more about the box your threads are in. I have both sizes of pleaters now and I think I need something for my threads. Can you share about those and how they help you and where to acquire one Thank you
I have a question about the burrs on the tips of the needles. In hand sewing, one uses the emery bag of a pincushion to keep the tips of needles sharp. Will the emery bag do the same for the smocking pleater needles?
