Deserving to stay in this world?
The concept of “deserving to stay in this world” in Islam revolves around understanding the purpose of life, which is to worship Allah and live in accordance with His guidance. Life in this world is a test, a temporary phase where individuals are given opportunities to prove their faith, strive for good deeds, and prepare for the eternal life in the Hereafter.
A person’s worthiness of remaining in this world is not based on material success, social status, or worldly achievements. Instead, it is rooted in fulfilling the responsibilities bestowed by Allah-maintaining faith, doing good, avoiding harm, and contributing positively to society.
The Quran emphasizes that life is a blessing and trial:
“We have certainly created man in toil and hardship” (Quran 90:4).
This verse highlights that enduring life’s challenges with patience and faith is part of our purpose.
Ultimately, staying in this world is not about personal deserving but about Allah’s decree. He determines the span of life based on His infinite wisdom. A believer focuses on using their time in this world to worship Allah, uphold justice, help others, and seek His pleasure. By fulfilling these responsibilities, one aligns with the purpose of their existence and prepares for the eternal reward in the Hereafter.
