As far back as I can remember, '85 was the first one on wax. I stopped buying them at '90, which I thought '90 mix was weak, not sure if any more were made after that but glad SOMEONE remembers them!
They were all on wax ..from no1 ...i bought them all every year and all the promo remieis ...and megatax ..and more ...many were actually done by ..the crew at DMC ...they edited these together from the sample mixes by DMC
That harmonica sample is from artist area code 615 , the song is called "stone fox chase" kurtis mantronik also sampled it for his track "listen to the bass pt ll
Master at work also provided a remixed version of Stone Fox Chase. There are three or four version of Stone Fox Chase; however, the original is by Area Code 615 The 1970 double album is called " Trip in The Country " by Area Code 615, hit songs "Stone Fox Chase", "Devil's Weed and Me" There are about 10 members in the band.
It is possible, or one place that might have it is the Sound Library, a little pricey but they buy used records all the time, and if these B & P mixes havent been reprinted, they will be even harder because I dont think Rock N Soul buys used vinyl...
@marcusrob02 Thats why its called B & P '87, because they took all the greatest mixes from 1986 and waited till the end of the year,,, but yes, I agree they should have named all their mixes backward by one year, still great tunes tho
Actually I just found out, they are Universal Music Group,,WTF man! We are gonna lose all the good shit, even underground bootlegs,,,its almost like these Big Brothers are purposely trying to buy the licenses to every song made, just to have the power to shut us down. I think what happened is there is a song somewhere in this record that contains a clip of a WMG owned track, so Im not gonna waste my time uploading the B side, I WANT TO THOUGH!!
@intromix You'd think by now they mightve realised that this is promotion for them! Anyone who really likes the tracks in the mix may just go out and buy the original! Suppose its just lawyers making money again!
Wow, 2016 and this mix-record is still amazing ! Great memories of the 80s with this one!
