Best of You Tube. From an old mechanic, 6 things out at once find out what they have in common. You are only looking for 1 thing not 6. A fading skill, along with how to read a schematic, then use it as flow chart.
Well my car has this same problem. Has been setting for two months. I just watched your video. I just pulled out the left panel and can see the blue relay. I am a lady so I will have my son take out the two bolts for me. I am going to be heading to Advance Auto to pick up this part. What an easy fix if this is my problem. Prayers it works. Thank you so much for this video. I had just given up
Thank you Mr Williams Exactly exactly exactly the problem. Exactly. I just bought this car we drove it to Sheboygan Wisconsin and I did the same thing again as it did before I took it to the mechanic who charged me a fortune to " fix it" Ever need any tile installed give me a call
Gosh I wish I lived near you. I have some problem with my 98 Avalon. When I try to start I have a BUNCH of relays going bananas.... no start. Had someone come over just to load test battery and alternator.... and said “oh crap... I forgot it won’t start”. To my surprise it started. Once.... lol. That tested good. Tried to start again and got the typical relays everywhere going bananas. The ones under the hood and the ones under the steering column you show in this video. I don’t even know where to begin. Just put so much money into it for struts and breaks and rotors and radiator.... only to have this happen a few days later 😢
I have been trying to diagnose this exact same problem for at least a year. It was so intermittent I could not get it to repeat itself while at the mechanic. Thank you so much for posting this and for posting the link to the part.
What worked for me, is disconnecting the battery for 20mins to reset the ECU. All dash lights started working again. I came across this fix from a Toyota advice web page. I would try resetting the ECU as a first step, since it worked for me. But, it’s great to know that the relay is another common fault that leads to the same issues. Thanks for sharing the video!
Thank you so much for showing us this video It is very helpful I bet for a lot of people. I am one of them, i am working in 99 Toyota avalon and I did replace the started plus the ignition relay but this is new to me about hear the ignition number 1 relay! Very interesting. Thank you so very much 🙏🏾
I have an 01 Toyota Solara. I have the same issue. Changed neutral safety switch, alternator and Battery. Cars runs but no working gauges. I think this might be the culprit. Im gonna try it out. Thanx for this video sir
Great video. I have the same issues with my 98 Camry and also it’s not going out of gear. Could that also be another symptom of that bad relay? And you the alternator won’t charge the battery? So no need to change the alternator?
Hey Ron, any other ideas I have the same issue no power windows, no air conditioning, no radio, no turn signals,no power seats. I replaced that relay and it still doesn't work any other ideas of what it could be the only difference is my car is a 2000 xls. Is there another relay I can replace.
Good to know. Problem I am fighting is an intermittant: nothing works - no ryme or reason. Battery good, alternator puts out 14.1 volts [when running].
@Ron Williams I have similar problem on a 2003 Avalon, but only the light on the main dashboard with all the gauge is not working, everything else works perfectly. What can it be ?
I"m having the same exact symptoms with my 1999 Camry LE V6. Can you help me where to find that wire diagram? I've already checked 100A fuse under the hood. Half of my left side fuses get no power under that kick panel fuse box.
What year was that car if you don't mind me asking? I have a 2000, everything works fine except the gauges. Lights, blinkers, and windows are all working. Sounds like I could have the same problem.
Hi Ron, I noticed my instrument cluster not responding. All gauges, battery indicator light and others not showing on the board after switching. I don't know what fuse to check. Its a corolla 04 model. Kindly help. Thanks.
I changed that relay TWICE and it did not solve my issue. After trying to turn the Avalon back on it blew another fuse. I’ve tried replacing alternator, battery, and a few other fuses with no luck! I LOVED my Toyota!!!! Been trying to fix this dash issue for almost a year. Took it to THREE mechanics and the final shop just told me to junk it. No one wants to put anymore time into figuring out the dashboard power window ac etc issues. 😩💔 I just had the oil changed and brand new tires put on days before this issue occurred. Still can’t get myself to junk it though. Anyone have anymore ideas for a fix?
I've been haveing these same problems but my car also has to be jumped to start and after a few minutes of running it will start idling rough could that also be from the relay being bad?
Please tell me if you got this fixed and how cause mine was the same and now it won't start at all eith the security light always blinking even with the master key
So . What I'm gonna do is to replace the Relay and new battery to see what it does so if the problem keeps going I'm gonna check the alternator and maybe the air filter
Hey would this relay have anything to do with flickering headlights, inside lights? My 03 Avalon lights flickers at idle worse on dim and worse on cold nights and im at wits end trying to figure it out, its kind of common on these as ive discovered
@@amirah669Pull your 25 amp A/F sensor fuse under the hood then start it up and it'll stop pulsating mine will, you'll get an engine light but it'll go off after you put fuse back in or in a few drive cycles or can turn it off with little cheap scanner,
@@amirah669 It's something Toyota should've addressed but of course they didn't,only thing left to try as i know of and it may work may not is 130 amp alternator..yw
@@amirah669 If you pull fuse out to check it dont run it up road without it its just to prove that its an AF sensor possibly to computer problem..if you figure it out Please let me know lol

And do you have any idea about 20 no eccelarat after a wrong jump leading
Thank you

@IAm-kz2hc I was able to fix it ended up just needed a alternator. Hope this helps
Dealership tech probably knew what it was but didn’t want to be cramped in that space.
If you see this is it a 4 prong or three for the relay part
Everyone store we call ask that question.
