- Police in Georgia's capital used tear gas and water cannons Tuesday to disperse protesters who rallied outside the parliament to protest a bill that would require media and non-commercial organizations to register as being under foreign influence if they get over 20% of their funding from abroad. They denounced it as “the Russian law” because Moscow uses similar legislation to stigmatize independent news media and organizations critical of the Kremlin. Regis Gente reports from Tbilisi.

I'm seeing this as the same situation of ukraine in 2008 to 2014. Good luck georgians.
Guys you have to cover Ivanishvili’s Speech on a pro-government rally (people brought in Tbilisi from regions by force and money) this monday. It was essentially an official announcement of the change of the foreign policy (which was pro-western officially up until now). He said that the aim of the law is to stop NGOs from organizing a revolution in Georgia and he also blamed western financed NGOs for all the problems in Georgia in the past 20 years.
He announced “The Global War Party” (The West) as the N1 enemy.
revolution in this case means... too much democracy?
Stay 💪 ppl
🇺🇸💪🇪🇺
Stay up like students in US universities 👍
America and France and the UK have this exact same bill word for word😂😂 How dumb are these people?? They are protesting for foreigners to fund originations. They need to be in prison
@@krishnakatikitala-bw1xo Those cringe losers? No thank you
The USA has a Foreign Agents Registration Act (FARA).
Australia has a Foreign Influence Transparency Scheme Act 2018 (FITSA).
The UK has the Foreign Influence Registration Scheme (FIRS) pending.
The French National Assembly is examining a draft foreign interference bill.
Georgia wants a similar law... but critics call it "the Russian law" SMH.
Are you joking?😂😂😂😂
Georgia needs urgent EU and US support we have pro Russian government which have no support from locals they use police power against peaceful protests
Why is it a Russian law?
Why does Russia not wanna make friends in the world? They remind me of China!
Seems like a decent law. Transparency is good
In U$ , AIPAC should register as ..
----> foreign
Sad for Emerican
This law is good for the people.
This law is good for the Country
You are a troll financed by the Georgian Dream party and your uninspiring English is pretty bad too.
You can move to Russia, they have this law. Good luck!
vatnik
Ahaha Gorgia 🇬🇪🇬🇪🇬🇪 you all are lying
This law is the same law france and america has. Word for word the same law😂😂😂Why would any respectable country want forign money funding groups??
Shows you that foreign funding is DANGEROUS!! Western news won't ever say we are the 1st people who introduced this law
Krembot misinfo as usual.
Familiarize yourself properly if your not a zz bot
@@delos2279read the law and see for yourself
I dont know if you are bot or you just dont know what you are talking about georgian dream is one of the worst governments out there in 2024
They are simply going to try to use that law to destroy everyone and everything in georgia that doesnt supports russia and is against russia which is 94% of country lol
Western hypocrisy. US has similar bill.😂😂😂
Uhm, not really. They serve different purposes.
The us has a different bill buddy
Stop your lies. The same law exists in the USA. Why don't you talk about it?
When DW is reporting thier nationls activists are hurt.
Shameful to Russia 👎
Why do you call it 'Russian-law' ? Russia was not the first to come up with such a law; for example, the USA has a very similar law since 1938 - The Foreign Agents Registration Act. I'm sure other countries have something similar. So I don’t understand why this law is called Russian, every country is trying to protect itself from external interference
it is not same.... FARA is totally different
