How thick is the Bible and how hands friendly is it? I like the ESV, but I am looking for a "large" print edition with good dark print for preaching and teaching. Is this one about the same size of the Large print personal size edition by Crossway?
Thanks for showing this Bible. I was tempted to order one of the imitation leather editions, but I noticed that the description didn't mention references. So I suspected they were absent. And now that I see the actual layout, with its narrow inner margin, I know this isn't the Bible I was hoping for. Very helpful review!
Great to see you back with a review.. Very nice ESV. Crossway did a great job with this Bible. Thanks for sharing with us. Hope to see you doing more reviews soon. Are you settled down now to where you'll be sending out Bibles for others to review? Good to see you again brother. Blessings to you.
They have moved the release date back several times. I have been eagerly awaiting the release. Thank you, pastor Brian for reviewing it. Honest opinion. Is the leather worth the money or would I be better served with a tru-tone with the intent of an eventual rebind?
It is quite thin but, for me at the preorder price I believe it is. On the other hand if you would to save some money and with the great imitation leather that Crossway has blessed us with, go for it. Either way a win. What can I say, I'm a sucker for leather 😂 May the Lord richly bless you and yours.
I'm not trying to be rude the're is still allot to observe in these Bibles, the only thing is this The NIV and ESV and other versions have also now removed 45 complete verses. Try and find these scriptures in NIV or ESV on your computer, phone or device, you will see they are not in the esv bible that's only some listed that are missing altogether are 45 verses they are still all in the Kjv Bible Matthew 17:21 , 18:11 , 23:14 ; Mark 7:16 , 9:44 , 9:46 ; Luke 17:36 , 23:17 ; John 5:4 ; Acts 8:37
Your comparison is faulty. The tradition of man, like the expansion of piety and the adding of marginal notes in the text is the source for the TR and Ecclesiastical readings. Like the pericope adultrae and johanneum comma that were added to the text. I was a KJV onlyist ordained under Peter S. Ruckmans ministry for over 15 years. The KJV added whereas the ESV and other faithful translations have removed what man has inserted. Good day and God bless 🙂
Thankfully, my copy of the ESV has these verses: - But this kind never comes out except by prayer and fasting (Matthew 17:21 ESV) - For the Son of Man came to save the lost (Matthew 18:11 ESV) - Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you devour widows' houses and for a pretense you make long prayers; therefore you will receive the greater condemnation (Matthew 23:14 ESV) - If anyone has ears to hear, let him hear (Mark 7:16 ESV) - where their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched (Mark 9:44 ESV) - where their worm does not die and the fire is not quenched (Mark 9:46 ESV) - Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left (Luke 17:36 ESV) - Now he was obligated to release one man to them at the festival (Luke 23:17 ESV) - for an angel of the Lord went down at certain seasons into the pool, and stirred the water: whoever stepped in first after the stirring of the water was healed of whatever disease he had (John 5:4 ESV) - And Philip said, "If you believe with all your heart, you may." And he replied, "I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God" (Acts 8:37 ESV)
The same thing can also be said with my copy of the NIV: - He replied, "This can come out only by prayer" (Matthew 17:21 NIV) - For the Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost (Matthew 18:11 NIV) - They devour widows' houses and for a show make lengthy prayers. These men will be punished more severely (Matthew 23:14 NIV) - If anyone has ears to hear, let them hear (Mark 7:16 NIV) - where the worms that eat them do not die, and the fire is not quenched (Mark 9:44 NIV) - where the worms that eat them do not die, and the fire is not quenched (Mark 9:46 NIV) - Two men will be in the field; one will be taken and the other left (Luke 17:36 NIV) - Now it was the custom at the festival to release a prisoner whom the people requested (Luke 23:17 NIV) - From time to time an angel of the Lord would come down and stir up the waters. The first one into the pool after each such disturbance would be cured of whatever disease they had (John 5:4 NIV) - Philip said, "If you believe with all your heart, you may." The eunuch answered, "I believe that Jesus Christ is the Son of God" (Acts 8:37 NIV)
I saw some Amazon reviews of this Bible. It seems that it has some printing issues, particularly in the Gospel of Luke? How's it in your Bible?
I have glaucoma, and I don’t consider an 11 point font to be a true large print... Having said Thst, this is a beautiful Bible.
Very nice edition...glad to see you back.
Thank you sister, feeling better and have a renewed amount of spiritual zeal. Praise Jesus 🙂🙂🙂

Not enough margin space. Sorry.
