- Omar Abuzaid - Why Computer Engineering is the Future My name is Omar Abouzaid, I am a 16-year-old American-Egyptian 12th grader in an American Curriculum school in Al Ain called GIPA. I have taken many roles of leadership in organizations such as the school’s “Red Crescent Organization”, “The Student Council Organization”, etc. because I believe that if you want to make a change you have to take action. I also have much experience in public speaking due to my involvements in the aforementioned organizations and my participation in other public speaking events and debates. I have a vision for the world and I plan on realizing it. Because of this, I am honoured to have been chosen to speak at this conference since it allows me to spread the message that I have to share with the world and I don’t plan on letting a chance like this go to waste. I believe that speaking is one of the most powerful mediums of inspiration and change which is why this speech is of the utmost significance to me. This talk was given at a TEDx event using the TED conference format but independently organized by a local community. Learn more at www.ted.com/tedx
Man the crowd ain't cracking up... His jokes are on fire my guy
fr, tf's wrong with the crowd
I love his confidence.
Come to think of it , there should be a TED for kids too. Imagine , talks for kids , held by kids.
He describes the need for advancements as humans just being lazy, however i disagree. We are in a continuous search for more advanced tech because it’s not just convenient, it’s more efficient. As we grow smarter, tasks such as going to get groceries are too far below us to spend time and money driving to get them, by ordering off of the internet and getting it delivered via drone doesn’t just get rid of human interaction but gives us the time to focus on something more challenging, something that we can do to help make a change in the world to better our people.
You make a good point. The part about us being lazy was just leading back to the point that humans will always look for the most convenient way to do things to save time because of the way our brains are wired, it's not literal. It's kind of like how people say "hire a lazy person because they will work smarter not harder." Thanks for the feedback!
@@MohamedSewid Thank you!
Whats so important that you cant go to the grocery store for 5 minutes
Not really and you know it lol, not going to the grocery to focus on things that will change the world? Lol, more like checking social media, watching videos, playing videogames...
That's true. But from my experience, I think most people are just busy going to social media platforms and just play around. It just doesn't apply to the majority.
Young man, you have a good head on your shoulders. Unfortunately, MY problem with phones is...my eyes. Too small for me to do a lot with such a small screen.
We'll have artificial eyes soon enough hehe
Very powerful message, confidence 💯

@@gayatrisonawane8271 it's been pretty fun. Back at high school it was so stressful and boring, but now, I learn things I actually care about, so it doesn't really seem like 'work' anymore. It's really fun, but it's a really competitive program. So I'm still trying to maintain my grades so I don't get dropped out
@@savagesfadygang3338 were doing basic programming and we're learning how to make processors rn.. By the end of the year we have to make a mini PC that works and everything.

Are you also studying computer engineering?
Currently, I'm studying dentistry
@@OmrAbzd nice lecture
In studying computer engineering (first year)
Yep
Omar Abouzaid
Can you please help me?
I’m now confused on which to study: dentistry and computer engineering.
I started computer engineering about a month ago, but I’m still not sure if I want to pursue in the major.
Can you tell me the reasons you changed your major?
And did you find some difficulties in dentistry that you did not expect to find?
It's present
The rfid chip forces him to pace too much.
tuff crowd, wonder sarcasm
It's okay to move around the stage because it shows confidence. But damn! this dude is overdoing it and it's distracting.
Jim Moriarty could you put yourself in his shoes?
bro imagine you're a student presenting a "TED TALK" which most successful professionals do lmao.
Bruh it's probably his first talk. Imagine talking to hundreds thousands of people at once. He's really nervous and he's trying his best.
bruh, he is very young speaker just give him a break.
Why not have a vegetable garden in your home 😂
yeah it's true.... until we create an ai that is capable of creating algos itself hahaha
Nah
Julius Marquez
Computer engineering is hardware related schematics
I’m sorry, buddy. But it’s not. All the craze behind a tiny rectangular piece of metal in your pocket? I ain’t buying it.
Ridiculous!
