Exploring an Abandoned Thrift Store, that was a Former Church!!

This abandoned thrift store had absolutely everything left behind and it looks as though the owners had just disappeared one day to never return. With a living space in the back of the building and the thrift store located within the nave. I don't believe that anything bad happened to the owners, unless maybe they died of old age but given the remote nature of this location, I believe they had a tough time making ends meet and decided to move on to other things. It is not surprising to see everything left behind here, there really isn't anything of significant value, it is mostly housewares, clothing and other odds and ends but it makes for a very interesting explore! I found a sign that said "Closing for the season 2010, opening will be posted January 2011", well that reopening never came for this place and it has sat abandoned ever since!!
I hope you enjoy this one as much as I did!!

I was baptized and married in that church. Baptism in 1966, married in 1992. Lived in that small French community for the first 40 years of my life (I live in Alberta now). A FORTUNE was spent renovating the basement to turn it into a legal community hall and a brand new oil heating system was added at the same time. It’s a shame it’s in this state now.
Oh wow, that is really cool. I agree it's too bad to see it like that now but who knows, maybe someone will revive it again one day. Thanks for the comment!!
I love church! I go every Sunday and serve with children!
Oh cool, so did you enjoy seeing this one then? Thanks for the comment!!
@@StaticSpaces yes very much, thank you. 😊
Despite being abandoned for a _decade_ I'm impressed at how most of them still look new and untouched (definitely something that can be used normally). They should really be recovered soon lest mother nature acclaims them. Some of these artifacts are priceless, too.
Yes, as long as vandals don't get to these places and the building doesn't fall apart, the contents can stay protected for years. Thanks for the comment!!
We love thrift stores! To find one abandoned is so cool. What a great video! Thanks for sharing this awesome explore!
Abandoned thrift stores with everything left behind aren't very common. I do have another one with everything left behind as well, so stay tuned because it's even better than this one. Thanks for the comment!!
Thank you James for another great explore. I love this place, a Thrift Shop in a church. WOW that is amazing. I love Thrift Shops, I like to look at all the vintage things. Greetings from Doris in Australia 🙂
Glad you enjoyed this one Doris and thanks for the comment as always!!

Good to hear. Thanks for the comment!!
Ty so much for sharing …we love seeing old churches
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the comment!!
Great find! I love the video formatting!
Really glad you enjoyed it and thanks very much for your comment!!
This is great . This is a resellers paradise. So much vintage treasure.
Couldn't believe the amount of items left behind. Thanks for the comment and glad you liked it!!
That TV in the kitchen would be awesome for playing old video game systems on. Most older ones like that sit right on the floor. Raised up with the built in cabinet makes it much nicer.
They are becoming less and less common but you can't even give away a tv like that anymore...nobody wants to move them. Thanks for the comment!!
Love churches, thank you for this content.
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the comment!!
I was in thrift heaven seeing all those retro pieces!!! I love how you pay attention to all the artifacts!! Super video!!!!
Thank you, glad you enjoyed this one. Thanks for commenting as well!!
Me2!!!OMG
That’s so funny , when I first seen that pink frog I laughed because I have one just like it . It feels soft and velvety like . It’s weird I sometimes see things in your videos that I have from a long time ago . I enjoyed seeing all of the old mugs and everything else.
That's cool when you see objects you had from years ago, brings back those memories. Thanks for the comment!!
@@StaticSpaces You’re welcome. :) Yeah Seeing the objects sure do bring back memories . Thank you for showing us this old church and all of the other abandoned places you have been to. :)
No problem!
Love this video 👍
Great and thanks for commenting!!

You're welcome! 🌹🌹
They should’ve done a gigantic “everything is free” sale on their last day.
This is wild though. Looks like an abandoned church rummage sale!
At 8:49 those are what are called “blo molds” and are pretty valuable
That would have been a good idea, although maybe they thought the closure was temporary? Thank you very much for the comments!!
James loved this video! You showed more respect than others I have watched by not man handling everything. It's a shame some one doesn't go in there and sell the stuff and give back to that community. Do you have any back story on it. Why was the basement flooded? Great Video Thumbs Up
I was unable to find any backstory regarding the building or the owners for this one. I think the basement flooded because they added a garage door to the basement at some point and probably didn't think about drainage at the time. Thanks for the comment!!
Eerie...but interesting.
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks so much for the comment!!
Love old churches and really like sifting through old junk to locate the occasional treasure so this was a double fun explore. Thanks James!
Definitely a unique place especially with so much left behind. Glad you enjoyed it Carrie and thanks so much for the comment!!
This would be a Catholic church since they have the confessional booths. I just go straight to the source, no need for a middleman.
I need to go shopping there, lol, I could use that fry pan.
Good explore James.👍🏻
Oh interesting, thanks for that bit of info and I'm glad you liked it!!
I agree! I go right to the Source too!
Hello I am more interested in the church would love to no the history of it
Understandable, i was unable to find any history about this one, the people who lived there or the building itself. Thanks for the comment!!
Hi James
This store was pretty cool inside a church. That loft is usually where the organ player is.
They probably had the organ in that space where the window was. That flooded basement
was somewhat creepy. Why do you think people don’t like you going and exploring a
church? I don’t mind them. This church didn’t have a rectory office. Maybe because
it was so small they didn’t need one. They had some cool stuff in there to sell. I can’t believe
they had a living quarter in there. The minister must have lived there with his family.
A cool explore, it was interesting and enjoyable. Stay safe and well.⛪️
Yes, you could be right about the minister living there but it sure made for an easy conversion into the thrift store/home. I think you are absolutely right, the organ almost certainly used to be in that upstairs alcove. As for why people don't like churches, IDK but the videos never do that well. The first one i posted is my worst performing video of all time! 😂 Thanks for the comment Irene!!
Omg this church outside is beautiful. It looks like they just left it like it was. Shame
Pretty much, the only things that were removed were the pews and the alter, otherwise completely untouched. Thanks for the comment!!
I love thrift stores there is always same nik-nak to take home. 9:36 We had a little porcelain house sugar holder 11:58 the 1950s/60s kitchen table is nice! 10:53 The frozen in time fly is amazing.
Ya, there were definitely a few treasures at this location. Glad you enjoyed it and thanks so much for your comment!!
Why did you say that people don't like churches? They beautiful
Because the videos generally don't do very well. Thanks for the comment!!
Man, that is an interesting find! So much stuff. Amazingly, even after people trashing it, I still think it doesn't look all that bad. It's been abandoned for about 10-12 years? haven't seen those plastic candles in FOREVER
You're right, it's not in all that bad shape at all. Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the comment!!
How friggin nice yhea people I guess this this is a confestional but I couldn't tell you how that complicated church shit works cause God sends people like me to hell for loving boxes of dolls and destiny child CD's.
Thanks for the comment!!
Another great explore! I like you filming/photographing churches. I'd love to renovate one into a home. Sad to see all of those items left when there are people who could use them. Who in their right mind puts cheap paneling over wainscot?!?! The camper was an interesting trip back to my childhood lol. I hate to admit it, but I learned how to drive a manual on a truck like that - it was on the column and had an 8-track 😂
Glad you enjoyed this one! Yup really can't figure out why they would put that wood panelling up! 😂 Nothing wrong with learning how to drive standard ONA big vehicle, if anything it makes you a better driver. Thanks for the comment!!
Me too KMF LOL !!!!!
@@StaticSpacesI'd use the confessionals as dressing rooms. "Forgive me hips for I have sinned, wheres my moon pie. I'm digging in!!🤗🤗
Hi James👋There are so many items in that flea market that are vintage that probably some collectors would love to get their hands on. This was a cool😎 find with a very interesting twist. Even the old camper and truck were a cool find. Never know what your going to see and find going to these places. Thanks for sharing James. Keep up the great explores☺✌👍❤

@@StaticSpaces You're welcome James. Love your channel and your content. Have a wonderful day❤😊
Hi Lisa 👋
@@fawnfredenburg5361 Hi Fawn👋
what happened? why did they close?
I'm not really sure, but because it was in a fairly remote location, I think they likely just didn't have enough customers. Thanks very much for the comment!!
I like churches, they can be really interesting!
Glad to hear it. Thanks for the comment!!
I wish you explore s could close windows and doors keep the weather out as long as it
How do you know that some of us don't?
The choir was up there that’s why there are like steps so you can see back row
Ah ok, that makes sense, although it looked like the had pews up there originally too. Thanks for the comment!!
Here for the video, but the pictures are just incredible. Great eye for lighting and perspective.
Glad you enjoyed the content and thank you very much for the comment!!
So sad. This could have been donated to the Salvation Army Thrift Store or to Goodwill stores.
Who knows, maybe it will be one day! Thanks for the comment!!
When it warms up your dead fly might just fly away and Cary on . Ever put one in a freezer?
Never put one in a freezer before but your theory could be right. That would be freaky, a zombie fly! 😂 Thanks for the comment!!
Contrary to “everyone” I love churches
I am getting a lot of comments like this today, glad to hear it. Thanks for commenting!!
This is a great explore. I love thrift shops. Keep exploring whatever you like. Keep posting your adventures. I always love them. Again keep up the good work JH. Big hugs 😊😊
Great, glad you enjoyed this one Kimmy and thank you!!
My gosh, there is so much cool stuff there! So sad it’s just being there and going to waste or getting smashed. I Love the Christmas decorations and the Christmas mugs but my favorite it’s that old red truck outside, I absolutely love trucks 😊
This is a gem of a location for sure. Glad you liked it and thanks for the comment!!
Cool video but I'm more interested in the history of the church and Why it's abandoned
Unfortunately, for some of these places, there just isn't a digital trail to follow the history and get the backstory. However when there is, that info is always in the description. Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the comment!!
If that was in the USall that copper pipe used in the heating system would be ripped out of there.
Maybe but it really depends where these locations are, city, rural etc. We definitely have our fair share of copper thieves in Canada too unfortunately. Thanks for the comment!!
What an amazing find and explore! Such a huge building.
Thanks, glad you liked this one. The building was massive. Thanks for the comment!!
I would LOVE to go thrifting in there 😉 I am surprised that someone hasn’t gone in there and taking everything. I am a new sub btw and I have a question how do you get in these places?
Yes, well hopefully this one stays safe from the vandals and the thieves in the future. Appreciate your support and thanks for the comment!!
where is it - I bet ppl would come in and buy stuff - money going to charity
Nothing in there is really salvageable at this point, the mold was just too extreme. Thanks for the comment!!
Hi James 👋This is very interesting to see too and a lot of cool stuff as well 😁 Great find James 👍 I’m loving this and this excellent video too James 😎 Thank you for sharing ✌️🌟🤩

whey do you say that people don't like church's how do you assume that.
Because the videos rarely do very well. Thanks for the comment!!
Brandon abandoned brings rubber boots with him so he can do the flooded basement's
I sometimes wear or bring rubber boots if i know there will be water but as a general rule i can't wear them because they don't breath. Thanks for the comment Jerrold!!
Wow Catholic Church
Why didn't they make use of it being a clothing bank?
I think it was a business, so privately owned, there goal would be to make a profit no matter how large or small. Thank you very much for the comment!!
Wow what state is this in? Curious bc of weather!!!
It's in Canada but don't let that fool you, this was filmed during a colder time of the year. Thanks for the comment!!
Lots of stuff, but a quick look seems like not lots of good stuff.... except the blow molds (candles and santa) and likely some miscellaneous things. I don't find abandoned spaces creepy, though sometimes things looks nauseating (like all the fake wood paneling) or sad (like it's a good building gone to waste - must be early 1900's or so) or ugly (like the carpet). Thanks for showing the 60's camper etc. Good video!
I agree, not much of real value left at this place, i mean it is a thrift store after all. Probably for the best because then the place likely won't get looted. I rarely get creeped out in places and if i do, it's because I'm worried about the people that could be lurking about. Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the comment!!
this place is overflowing with vintage goodness!
Oh definitely, was such an interesting place to see! Thanks for the comment!!
I love churches
Glad to hear it and thanks for the comment!!
Put one of those jackets on…I dare you 🫣🫣🫣🫣
I almost did that for the intro but decided against it! 😂 Thanks for the comments!!
Why was the church and thrift store abandoned?
Not really sure but I would imagine it was tough to make a living from it because of the remote area it was in. Thank you very much for your comment!!
If you live up North the onies are good to west at night or daytime
Nah, i live nowhere near there. Thanks for the comment!!
I don’t care what type of property it is. Abandoned places are interesting. Especially when there’s so much stuff left behind and the stuff is so old. Lol now James don’t be encouraging arguments 😂 That person in the comments on your last video just needed told, that’s all. I don’t make a habit of arguing with strangers online 😂 Would love to know more about the church itself, like when it stopped being used for services and when it dates back to
Ya, as long as they aren't outright insulting me, my regular followers or the video itself constructively, then i am ok with it. That last argument was too bad, i have deleted way worse comments but honestly, how is "the music is distracting" useful to anyone. There needs to be more context. Unfortunately i wasn't able to find anything about the church, the property or the owners of this place but sometimes a little mystery is ok. Thanks for the comment Stephanie!!
Thanks for sharing, awesome video!
Glad you enjoyed it and thanks for the comment!!
Oh the treasures!!!!!! He has noooooó idea what hes walking past!!!! A reseller s dream!!!
Mostly all the same stuff you can find at most thrift stores. Thanks for the comment!!
@@StaticSpaces worth more money than you know Static!!!!!! To the untrained eye...nothing special, to the trained eye, treasures and money in the bank!!!!!!!!
Such a unique explore that I really enjoyed! Thank you! Stay safe 💕
Glad you enjoyed this one and thanks for the comment!!
Catholic here and sad to see this…the altar has to be removed and the pews…looks like the removed furniture from the confessional too. Wonder if they will put this place up for sale?
Yes, i believe the church was deconsecrated then sold to a private party. Who knows what the future holds for this place but hopefully it doesn't get destroyed by vandals. Thanks for the comment!!
Wow James that is a whole lots of stuff left behind 😳 I’m surprise this stuff is not donated 😁 You are amazing James 😎
Thanks for the comment Fawn!!
You are so welcome James 😎
WOW, great video! I am surprised that some of that stuff is still there like in the first isle of the kitchen appliances there are some silver serving platters that look like they are in fantastic condition. The exercise bike looks in great shape..I'm surprised it's still there. If it was me I would try to find out who owned that Ford F150. The inside is in great condition. Fixing that up to either sell or own would be great. A funny thing happened at the end of your video..you and me sniffled at the same time..I got a laugh over that lol. Thanks again for another great video!
Haha, that's kind of funny that we sniffed at the same time in the video. Glad you enjoyed this one and thanks for the comment!!
organ and or choir up in the loft. No pews...
But there were pews there originally, you could see the markings where they used to sit
