- Iran’s successful test-launch of a ballistic missile with a potential 2,000-km range has likely spooked arch-rival Israel. The Jewish state which faces an ‘existential threat’ from Iran has explicitly declared its aim of curbing Tehran’s nuclear capabilities. Israel has threatened to take action against Iranian nuclear facilities amid negative developments in the Vienna talks.
Israel seeks a new version of the F-15 jets called ‘F-15EX’, with a enhanced weapon-carrying capability and GBU-57 or the Massive Ordnance Penetrator (MOP), the world’s most potent bunker-busting weapon. If the US provides Israel with F-15EX and GBU-57, a strike on Iran’s nuclear facility will be likely.

To do this, you need a series of different systems to intercept different missiles, some with stealth bodies, flying extremely low, changing course, etc.
You need many AA systems, but even there there is no 100% protection, there are always sources of error, people/soldiers wrong decision reaction, defects, coincidences and each system can be overloaded by too many missiles at once, first the laucherkapitäten (per missile you often need 3-4 interceptor missiles), then the leistände and radar.
In addition, Isreal has radar etc. jamming capabilities and anti radar, aa system missiles.
I doubt Iran's ability to counter these, there have not even been rudimentary systems presented from Iran that would even come close to being able to do so, let alone even halfway top notch systems. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

It is confusing for me to imaging a few F15s just decide to fly over Iran and bomb something and get back. Iran has a decent air defence. So how those F 15s are going deal with Iranian air defence?
Most definitely F35s that can penetrate Iran’s air defense will strike first, taking down Iran’s radars. At that point Iran’s SAM’s without radars will be worthless. Israeli 15s can then strike without any threat.
F15s reaching Iran’s airspace is not as big of a deal as we think. Israel has two bigger issues to deal with. 1) could the modified F15s actually carry the 30 ton Moabs and reach Iran in one fuel tank? Where do they take off from? Definitely not from Israel. Even if those F15s make it to Iran with such heavy payload, can they make it back? Israel has a far better chance of pulling this off by modifying the C-130s to drop the MOABs as the end of video suggested.
2) And let’s say Israel pulls this off and destroys Iran’s nuclear facilities . The aftermath of it will most likely be an all out war. It will get ugly. Iran’s economy is at its most vulnerable, and a lengthy war can break their back. Israel on the other hand has to worry about fighting a bloody war in multiple fronts; Hizbollah in the North, Syria, and Iran. Iran could also launch missiles against US bases in the Middle East, followed by US retaliation, you see where this is going? And, then Iran will most definitely try to close the strait of Hormuz which is only 30 miles across and if I’m not wrong 40% of world’s oil is moved through it. US 5th fleet is currently in Persian gulf making sure oil tankers and other ships can flow without Iran’s interference. I expect a maritime conflict between the US and Iran’s IRGC. I am no expert in world energy and world economy. But, none of this look good to me.

Plus, their air-defense and ECM capabilities have proven their worth twice already first as early as 2011, by jamming and spoofing techniques in tricking a top-notch US stealth RQ-170 drone into landing on one of its own bases rofl xD and then by taking down a $230M Triton drone in a way that impressed most observer, including the Pentagon itself (I'm not going to be technical , but they basically lit up a launcher at the last moment in the immediate vicinity of the drone after the node in question passively received accurante target data and a firing solution from a distant PESA radar that the drone operation didn't imagine could be a threat to their environnement).
Iran has a whole range of layered IADS that they have been building up for decades, and they've gradually made enormous strides in achieving homegrown long-range interception with their latest Sayyad series of missiles they employ on their Khordad-3 batteries (directly derived from the SM-1 and then consolidated with elements of the S-300 interceptor design furnished by Ukraine back in the early 2000s), and the Iran electronics Industry, a subsidiary of their Defense conglomerate, now manufactures its own AESA/PESA search and track radars. Hopefully no decision-maker in Israel will ever give the go-ahead for such madness that would inevitable escalate into total war and massive destruction on both sides if such a crazy operation ever materializes.

I think there is some research mistake from crux team because gbu-57 is 13 ton bomb and only carried by bombers and is 4 times heavier than brahmos and 4 times heavier than kinzhal missile which are heaviest weapons mounted on a modern fighter aircraft. Yeah, if israel purchases b-21 raider then surely they can purchase one of these bombs. What i think is your talking gbu-72 a improved version of gbu-28 introduced in 2021 a 2.3 bomb with JDAM kits is ideal weapon for f15s
No Israel apparently plans to strap a gbu-57 30000lb MOP to the new f15EX. F15EX is claimed to be capable of carrying 29500lbs of ordnance but that’s with full fuel so taking off with less fuel and refueling mid flight it could definitely be done. The main challenge will be modifying the f15EX so the center of gravity isn’t completely F’ed

Analysts agree that Iran's latest missile realistically has a range of 4000 KM. It's listed as 2000 KM because that is Iran's official self imposed limit, but at this rate, Iran will soon develop a missile that will be capable of reaching the east coast of the United States. The GBU-57 can only penetrate 60 meters. Iranian underground bases are built directly underneath mountain ranges & protected by hundreds of meters of military grade concrete. The bases are built directly underneath the mountains highest points with multiple entrances. Not to mention Iran has an extremely potent & multi layered air defense network. The Israeli jets would have to constantly maneuver & dispense chaff to avoid being hit. The GBU-57 has to be dropped right above the target making the task even more difficult if not impossible. Realistically it's not feasible, the Israelis are bluffing. Iran has 5000+ missiles in inventory, thousands of drones including kamikaze drones & an airforce with nearly 200 fighter jets. Iran's response would be devastating to Israel. I don't see them actually going through with this.

After the October War Syrian and Egyptian soldiers were asked how they could possibly have lost with everything they had going for them. Syrian soldiers in the north and Egyptian soldiers in the south both said the same thing. Israeli soldiers are no problem, but the battlefield was filled with angels. How do you right the angels? Basically, the GBU-57 bomb has to be inside the belly of the F-15EX. The F-15EX will only carry one GBU-57 bomb and nothing else. The circular hydraulic clamps would have hold the GBU-57 bomb steady inside the belly of the F-15EX. The F-15EX has to be at an constant attitude of 50,000 feet minimum and traveling at Mach 2 to the site. Then going into a nose dive almost vertically traveling at Mach 2 and releasing the GBU-57 bomb. Somebody NEEDS to tell the GBU-57 bomb how deep the facility is and how many floors there are and how high is each floor is. Then somebody NEEDS to tell the GBU-57 what floor to detonate on. It's impossible. Some of these bases are deep underground, underneath mountain ranges. A bunker buster is not piercing through a mountain & then hundreds of kilometers of military concrete. Also the fighter jets, how can they maneuver constantly to avoid air defense missile (Iran has extremely potent air defenses) drop the missile right on the target & then make it back to base ? Not to mention Iran will likely destroy the Israeli air bases before the jets get back. They'll have nowhere to go back to, maybe they can land in a US airbase in the region ? It's just not feasible. The Israelis are bluffing & Iran knows it.
