How To SPEEDRUN Rayman 3 HD

- I have done some pretty difficult Rayman challenges already, but to keep myself sane I frequently speedrun this game. It's a faster experience and a real fun way to run the game. Through trail and error, I've developed all these strategies and tricks that I use to get the time as low as it can possibly be. So today, I'm teaching you as well!
Man…I used to play this game and it’s individual levels on my ps2 over, and over…and over again, from my childhood all the way into my early teens and It’s crazy how much I just learned about a game that so close to my heart. ❤
Granted, I never really tried to speed run Rayman 3 and I was more focused on doing epic flip dodges during combat lol, but it’s heartwarming to know that someone’s made such a detailed and well put together tutorial to speed run it.

I love rayman. Great run
i do not like major glitches either. It is kind of boring to me personally to just run in corners for 2 minutes to clip out of bounds and hit hidden loadingzones and thnigs like that. In a speedrun i want to see techniques to beat the game quickly by using the system given by the developers to its fullest. That the clipping of one corner in version 0.8 was not optimal is not exciting to me.

It's really weird, but if you hit them before they have landed, they are one hit KO's for some reason
@@obscurevideogameruns6250 There are also weird versions of these guys in the tower of leptys level in the baloon parkour section that do not melee you and die in one hit when you hit them, so you can safely jump on top of them

My favorite world is the land of the livid dead, because i kept replaying it constantly because tiny me didnt know how to get past the knaaren 😂😐😑 that was with the kb controlls, a year later, i FINALY did it 😭
I always disliked the longest shortcut but began liking it around my 16's (i blame earworm osts and finaly discovering the secrets you can get in the walls and the loop with the galaxy in it thing at the part where yoy have to use elevators quickly to get up before the time runs out
But my favorite world based on ost alone would be the tower of the leptys
But the clearleaf forest and bog of murk hold the most nostalgia value, i remember defeating hoodstomper on that old windows xp machine my parrents didnt need anymore, in the middle of the livingroom wilst my parrents were painting the house and replacing the floor later that day 😂
The bog of murk i got stuck at bergoniax or whatever the witch's name is, i remember discovering how beat her late in the night (and getting punished for not sleeping 😂, i admit i was stressed for my parrents hyping up the trip to movie park or was it tivorli? I dont remember that clearly but i got stressed and was busy with rayman allday, that was eother 2 or 3 weeks after beating hoodstomper? 🤔
One thing i won't ever forget was beating the reflux/andré/leptys fusion final boss at the same day joepie (1 of the 2 dogs i grew up with), thinking about it still chokes me up, but in general? Its still super satisfying 😅😐😔
Beyond good and evil holds similar bits of nostalgia.... ahhh i love these 2 games so much....

I gotta say, as someone who has tried a lot of the glitches used in the old gamecube version of Rayman 3, they are REALLY HARD to do and involve tons of incredible precision to perform. It's all well and good to not like it just because you can't personally relate to it. When people make the whole "oh but you're breaking the game, it's not supposed to be played like that" I'm like "neither is your glitchless run". If that's the case, then the only valid speedrun category is 100% since you're actually engaging with the content the developers wanted you to engage with. And then if you move the goalpost to like "oh but you're not engaging with the game's mechanics", wrong.
Any% is just as valid a speedrun category as glitchless Any%, which is just as valid as 100% or 100% glitchless. They all take incredible skill to optimize and excel at.
13:19 I swear the laser moving back and forth moving so faster than the original version! I mean how did they mess this up?!

I used to make a jump in first part of tower of leptis easily, but now, my muscle memory fails me and no matter how much i try, i can't do it. It takes like 15 min, sometimes more😪
Yikes, good thing this is in the beginning of the level and you can train this easily
Isn't there a very precise set of controls that allow you to actually move when you first enter the level in 'La lande des esprits frappés' with the closed gate and the big shiny tower?
If done well, you could actually run in the cutscene that introduces you to this level and run past the gate before the animations of the hoodlum hit the switch to close the gate. This way you skip the entire tour section, hell, the whole level right at the beginning. What do you think?
I know, but doing this consistent is really, REALLY hard and not something you can recreate every other run

in the longest shortcut the 3 flying hooks in the high room (26:25) u can grab the 3rd after let go the first on the nearly highest point, with a short hover it is more save but maybe reduced or equals the time save
