He’s not overpowered but he is extremely simple.

JB took an approach with Jamie I'd yet to see before this tournament, and PlusIsNotReal clearly had a lot of fun playing his Honda. What a riveting Top 8!
Something about all those buttslams inspired me. Let's enjoy some SUMO STATS.
In PlusIsNotReal vs Punk, 7 rounds were played.
Across 7 rounds, PINR did *47 total buttslams.*
On average, that's *6.7 buttslams per round.*
At most, PINR did *12 buttslams in one round.*
Two of those rounds were blowouts with only *3 buttslams per round.*
If we remove those blowout rounds, the average jumps to *8.2 buttslams per round!*
Punk responded to most buttslams with something besides block, but obviously not very successfully.
Most of those responses were Parry, a total of *25 attempted parries.*

@@Elgar337 He won way too much way too fast and developed a god complex, but tbf he is pretty godlike in the majority of games he plays. Great reactions, great fundamentals, reads and patience. His worst matchup is his own temperament. A pouty dude will always be fun to laugh at, though lol

This has to be one of the best tournaments of SF6 so far. The JB Jamie player just changed the game for Jamie’s, only went lvl4 ONCE in the whole tournament run. E Honda just got validation beating SUPER top players with spamming the same specials

5 minutes in, I can tell Vagabond really needs to learn how to play the Jamie match-up 😂 understandable, there are very few high-level Jamie players out there so it's hard to learn. Vagabond was made to try some stupid jump-ins which were just begging to get punished. Great play from JB of course, you can't win against someone like Vagabond just because he doesn't know the match-up

He clearly hadnt labbed the MU. Buttslam spam is easier to deal with than headbutt spam. Also, Im sure Punk will learn Guile for this MU because Guile is one of the few characters that can smoke Honda.
Yea even in beta I was super confused why people thought Jamie was bad. "He has to get drinks each round" yea that's the point🤨. And no him and menan are two differently designed characters.
He is kind of bad but if he was able to carry those drinks over to the next round he would quickly become op. Kind of hard to balance

@having765 respectfully that's cap, His st lp is garbage before drink. Also his arrow kick is janky af. Having to give up oki for drinks is not great either. He's good but definitely has some glaring downsides.

We are not gonna agree which is fine but I feel Jamie players only look at what he doesn't have and are failing to realize the good stuff he has make the "bad" borderline irrelevant. This character will only get better as time goes on

You can drive attack E Honda's butt slam if you time it just before it hits. I'm surprised nobody in this tournament did that.
And you can explode if you fail, that's why you didn't see it. You have to time it correctly.

@@xXRazorfistXxit's about risk reward, it's harder to time perfect parry but there is next to zero cost for trying and missing, on the other hand DI is easier to time but if you miss it, you eat a full combo.
If you're not basically doing it as a read he can recover and DI in response. Depending on which strength he does at what range the +frames change and the timing changes on the slam, so it's literally impossible to know the timing and how safe it is unless you catch them in a pattern doing the same ones over and over and letting you adjust. But good Honda isn't gonna do that
