Another outstanding AF vid. I've always believed in using what is at hand, so just watching this build was almost as much a bucket list item as it was for you to put it together. As always, I look forward to the next overnighter. :)
Measuring in feet, using feet. The total benefit and superiority of Imperial System over Metric and I’m speaking as an Englishman whose had Metric imposed upon me by idiots.
After watching "Four Days" and studying the activities, I set up a similar four-day solo exercise here (Alberta, Canada). While I was out, the heatwave hit, 122 F/90% humidity. Thank God for mountain streams & past military service. Pro-tip to everyone: don't ever try this alone, bring a phone, gauge and personal locator. I could've died.
I second that! I would love to see what he would come up with using shower pan liner. Shawn, I have seen guys on UA-cam put tyvek in the washing machine and air dry it to make it more quite. I have also seen guys ball it up several times.
Reminds me of my hitchhiking days. If I didn't have it just dig through the trash. It's not always about what you have, it's what you find along the way. Another outstanding video my friend.
Corporal! That's awesome af! Construction trash meets bushcraft... Trashcraft!! The 150 people who gave thumbs down don't realize that an overwhelming majority of the population will be utilizing that approach in a true survival situation, either because of total infrastructure collapse and their urban proximity, or because a natural disaster has rearranged all their resources and now they're inconveniently camping... I'd love to see more of these videos. Really makes a person think outside the box. Thank you sir!
I appreciate these videos so much. Please never stop taking the time to show your impressive knot work. I'm the kind of guy who learns by watching things tons of times. So appreciative of what you do. Another great video!
Tip from from a long time backpacker: Run the Tyvek through a washing machine cycle and it will soften the Tyvek and it won't be so noisy. Many backpackers use Tyvek as a ground cloth under their tents.
Good advice about the wash. I use Tyvek as a ground cloth. I've never washed my ground cloth tyvek but I have a few of those reflective bivvy bags made of the same material with a reflective coating inside and I have washed them. They are so much nicer to use after a wash.
@@wyliegibson319 It's basically a matter of breaking up the fibers so they aren't so rigid. So hand washing and air drying in a breeze or wind will do the same. Or if you can't wash then scrunching up the fabric (as what happens with use) will also work.

Pants n long sleeves in the summer isnt stupid. If Im out workin, its what i wear. It keeps u cooler as well. Theres a reason ppl in hot climates cover up. Not so they dont burn, they aleady have a year round tan, its to keep cool.
Outstanding af yet again. Even though you pointed out it's illegal to take the items without permission and clearly had to buy the supplies, you are bound to get some trolls calling you out for inciting theft or staging stuff, this is obviously meant for a real shtf situation and as such a great demonstration of make do with what you can get. Keep up the great content
The rain hitting that tyvek would drive me crazy. Love your videos. I watch every week and I'm a 74 year women. You amaze me with the thinks you do. As for the food it always seems to be delicious. Thanks for the knowledge.
Great to see some outside the box thinking. This looks like a great way to start a "Get home with only the stuff in my pocket" series. Seriously, if we were separated from our get home bag, what things in an urban/suburban environment should we look for if all we had was a lighter, multi-tool, and some pocket lint.
Awesome AF video!! I like that you included the failure on the hammock and the fix. It's a lot more durable with the 3 layers. Very creative use of construction "garbage".
Great video as always. It reminds me of a sign I saw I'm an office. " We have done so much with do little that we now feel we are now qualified to do anything with nothing."
I used to be on a crew pulling fiber optic cable back before they pre-installed it in the conduit. That mule tape is some seriously tough stuff. I still keep a roll behind the seat of my truck!

This is GENIUS. Construction garbage camp. For those living in areas where the construction is going gangbusters, being able to repurpose some of that stuff into disposable shelter is outstanding. Especially for a "get home" scenario where you have to overnight.
Hi Corporal! really like your channel. you seem to always mention the trolls and people that leave negative comments. I would not even mention them. that gives them some kind of look I made him comment about something I said. it makes them feel better about themselves to put someone else down. This was a great twist from the more natural type of materials used in your videos. With the majority of us living in a urban setting this was an excellent focus on city survival. Being of the prepared mindset, l would like to see another video geared toward the people living in the city and how to make a shelter should we face a disaster and not have a home to fall back on.
Cpl Shawn "MacGyver" Kelly strikes again! Nice use of construction materials. I've used some of those (tyvek, reflectix and mule tape) to make backpacking gear items. Tyvek makes a decent ground sheet, reflectix has all sorts of insulative uses and mule tape makes a great cordage option.
Have had construction jobs in the past where I had to stay on site and made some makeshift shelters with debris. This was a great memory reminder. Thank you.
When I was a kid, a new housing complex was being built right into my backyard. OH, the fun we had with construction trash. It's amazing what such great materials can be used for.
That's a fantastic setup. Never would have thought of construction fence for a hammock. Tyvek for a shelter was always an idea of mine. Thank you for what you do. Keep it up.
TIP for reducing noise on Tyvek, crumple it up, then spread it flat, crumple it again, over and over and it will be softer and make a dramatic difference in noise. I use Tyvek all the time camping. Great video, very clever with that hammock!
Good old common sense and creatively using construction materials to make an overnight shelter. Awesome! That bacon cheeseburger looked awesome as well!

It has never let me down. It's nice to see you use it . Good video as always, enjoy watching. Until next time. Everyone get out in the woods and enjoy life .
That was the most interesting overnighter yet. Respect for using materials many probably didn't even think of. Adapt and overcome mentality! Thanks Corporal!
I've never been turned down asking for construction waste. They pay for disposal by weight or volume so it helps them out.
"I don't know which is worst, laying in THIS thing? or hearing THIS all damn night." 😂😂😂😂funny af. great show. versatility and creativity. thank you sir. good stuff👍👍
What is construction garbage? Stuff is so expensive now, we literally keep much of our "garbage" now to use on other jobs.
This is INGENUITY AT IT’S BEST.
OUTSTANDING AS ALWAYS
Improvise, Adapt and Overcome.....Semper Fi, brother!!
