Opus VI is my fav in this Collection... green olives and frankincense are the first notes to me, and it last forever. Great review!

Great review as usual, Ramsey. I'm ordering a sample of this tonight actually and looking forward to trying it. As of this moment full vintage bottles of VI are near impossible to find right now - all the discounters seem to be sold out. Sad.

Loving your opus series of reviews. Apart from being one of my favourite ambers, and being almost impossible to get hold of in the Uk, there was a time that I wore opus 6 to work only for a pregnant lady to throw up from the smell. Cue me washing myself in the bathroom to try to get it off me - but it wouldn’t budge. All I can say is that baby was not an amouage fan - probably all grown up now wearing sauvage 😅

Z11 is also known as Amberketal, a woody-amber material discovered in 1954 and used (firstly?) in Anais Anais (1978) (Scent & Chemistry book). Don't know why they chose to highlight in the notes pyramid but sometimes they do it with proprietary synthetics or special natural extractions (Akigalawood, LMR division of IFF's naturals, etc)

Great review, Ramsey. I have Opus VI. Your descriptions are spot on, and I agree. It is a very strange, artistic use of uncommon synthetics. It's very unique. I do prefer Opus VII. I've worn it a few times, yet I do not fully understand it. It depends on my mood. Re: Amouage website, it wasn't that long ago, a couple-few months from this posting, that there was a link where some original Opus perfumes in the old bottles could be viewed and purchased. As they revised their website recently, that link is no longer found. Shame this is one is discontinued.

This Opus is one of my fav in the Library Collection, sadly discontinued as you said. For me it's a modernized version of a traditional amber like, let's say SL's Ambre Sultan, but done in a more transparent, 'airier' (but powerful) style typically of the Amouage line

Well the whole previous library collection got discontinued and only a few selected ones got carried over into a new age in the new bottles.
That's what official sales representative told me more than a year ago. These old bottles are not sold by the official partners of the Amouage and can only be found on discounters.

Also love Opus 6. Only the real ones are still sticking by it currently. Ramsey. Danke Schoen. 🙏 It levels up Pardon by Namassito. Another take on that DNA with Amouage level art and raw materials which are amazing. More dimensional than Pardon but Pardon is also great.

Perfumeonline is based in Canada and they’re legit. I’ve ordered several perfumes from them. You used them as an example so I thought I would share.
I have used fragrance buy . ca but never perfumeonline...but that price on the 100ml Tester of Opus VI is legit .... thats a lot of juice for that price now a days... thats like the price of sauvage at retail now a days lol
Hey gotta ask you this because you own the bottles. Is the Blend 30 a weak fragtance to your nose let's say compared to original Burberrys for men? I now own these and the Blend 30 arrived a week ago and I instantly tought this is really weak like almost feels like third less oompf than the Burberrys. It's reslly nice but weak and I can't stop thinking if something was messed with the bottle even when it was sold as new but not sealed.
Not at all... my blend 30 is a huge heavy fragrance... I will review it soon 💪🐏
Okay thanks, I'm pretty sure I was sold a cutted bottle since applying alot I only smell alcohol and then I get the perfume unlike my other fragrances.

Been tempted to blind buy this but it's not as cheap where I am. I just got Opus II though and III is on the way, tempted on IV we'll see. I already have IX and XI and 50ml old bottle Silver Oud.
VI is the one with the jacked up prices from what I can get hold of easily, which I guess speaks to it being one of the best of the line. How close is it to Fate Man?

@GoodDaySir I got a tester bottle for $160. Maybe a slight hint of overlap with Journey but totally different. To my nose the closest to Opus VI is Givenchy Gentleman 1974, in the air probably hard to tell apart, same performance too. It’s not worth the high price imo, definitely a weird one, requires to sample first. I’m big fan of Silver Oud, Royal Tobacco, Overture, Interlude, Jubilation, Boundless and own almost the entire masculine Amouage line and this one is a miss for me. Maybe for the collectors to fill a hole in their collection or for the true fans of such scent profile.
Haven't smelled anything from this line, I don't think 🙃

Can't find website that, as you said, had it super cheap. This juice is basically sold out everywhere in the EU and all places that have it either do not ship to EU or w/ all the fees 100ml become like 500$ ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Dude, don’t get obsessed by this bottle, it’s definitely not worth $500 and to me personally not worth discounted $160. Amouage has much better offerings and other brands too. Better to grab a few Orto Parisi for this money. Or try Givenchy Gentleman 1974 and decide for yourself if it’s worth $500 because it’s very close.
