=40= this was an awesome channel to watch growing up here in Tucson Arizona no need to switch channels on my small black & white tv in my room channel 40 had it all! the lovely Elvira mistress of the Dark I believe aired on Saturday nights I think on sundays Tales from the Dark side & who can forget the legendary world class championship wrestling, thunder cats & Heathcliff cartoons, music video shows also the commercials were priceless for the survival knife who didnt want a F in RAMBO knife plus commercials for ninja supplies, long live the greatest channel of all time the mighty channel 40 ;) Thank you all who worked on that network in all departments the media shown was the best!
I remember when they signed on the air and receiving them, barely, in Mesa Az. They had a catchy tune that went something like: Turn down the lights, pull up a chair, something's going on, there's magic in the air. All around you've got the best view town, wait till you see TV 40....... I remember most of it to this day.
There's a quick signoff: "we're leaving the air, Good night!" None of this "effective radiated power" or "by authority of the FCC" crap. That said, the music videos were great!
@@gidzmobug2323 KPOL Sign Off On October 17th 1989 After That Station Was Put Up Foe Sale In The Fall of 1988 And KDTU Was Sold To Clear Channel Communications And Changed The Call Letters To KTTU (TV) On April 1st Of 1989

Wasn't GLOW: Gorgeous Ladies of Wrestling on Channel 40?
I'm not too sure ,
Different, local and distinctive. The tourist commission should have thanked them!
This version of "We've Only Just Begun" is by El Chicano.
TV 40 was amazing as a kid. They had awesome cartoons. I wish I could get the whole jingle from the beggining of this clip.
Me too.

KPOL-TV is now Tucson's Telemundo affiliate, KHRR-TV.
KUAT, Tucson AZ - Closing recorded in December 30, 2005
Tthe promo music at the very beginning sounds familiar. WNUV-TV in Baltimore used that same image package around the same time.
The same goes to WCCB in Charleston too as well!

KPOL-TV only aired for four years!
They are not on the air anymore? What happened?

Didn’t the Catholic Diocese of Tucson owned KDTU-TV channel 18?
