Your content is very AMAZING! It feels like I am watching an documentary done by The history Channel or Animal Planet, but better.. Good job! I hope you receive more attention tho. You for sure deserves it!
Nature is cruel. Of course we can’t judge animals like humans. I can’t remember where but I read some animals eat other animals alive cause they can’t wait and if they wait some bigger animal takes their food. Another reason is that some predators don’t have the ability to take down prey the same way like a big cat can. I think other times they’re inexperience.
Hearing about wasps of any kind only reminds me of the time a wasp landed on my head. I legit thought a bird unloaded it’s resources on my noggin. Almost wish that was the case.
I love how I myself can get to around any sort of bee as soon as i reach less than 100m within their peripherical reach without them noticing me but when it's another bee, they're fucking stupid as heck.
I think that the prey of wasps is not precisely dead, more like it is in suspended animation--alive enough to fee the wasp larvae. Generally the larvae eat the non-essential parts of their prey until they are mostly grown, and only finish off the prey when nearing becoming a pupae.
*Not* even social wasps are evil. It's is just nature and instinct. Without any kind of wasp, our ecosystem would be overrun by other insects and collapse. Social wasps (yellowjackets) are just attracted to sugary produce at the end of their productive cycle (late summer/early autumn) and are more aggressive and quick to defend themselves if they feel *in any way* provoked. The advance of theme parks/BBQ/fast food (especially in the UK) has made them more present to the general public as the food/drink on offer attracts them. Solitary wasps act the way they do to reproduce and continue their cycle, not matter how horrific and unfair it looks like to us or their victims.
Well, at least the Beewolf wasp only kills a bee one at a time for food. Unlike the Giant Asian Hornets which can decimate a whole hive just for the hell of it.
Bee: Who are you Beewolf Wasp: I'm here to attack you Bee: No Stay Away or I will sting you! Beewolf Wasp: (evil chuckle) Beewolf Wasp: Go ahead but your stinger won’t work Beewolf Wasp: But my stinger will!! Beewolf Wasp: (evil laugh) Bee: NOOOOOOOOOO!!!!! Bee: DIED Beewolf Wasp: now to take it to my home and lay my eggs on her 2:30
Is the bee killed or only paralyzed? Typically the prey of solitary wasps are not killed because they would decay before the wasps' larvae could eat them.
VERY good question and point. The bee is stone cold dead. The wasp prevents spoilage by washing the corps with a special anti-fungal compound that she produces. I was unable to get this on film and so omitted it.

Yep, both humans and wasps are quite dangerous to bees. Though some humans do help bees quite a lot.

At 3:20 the wasp is like: shhh it's fine you will be okay
What the wasp didn't knew was that this was the bee's kink.
For the bee, this was like death by snu snu
What a hard working team you guys are??? Really good filmmakers and helping the people understand about the insects living...
Thanks!
I read the title as "Beowulf attacks bees" for some reason.
*smashes bees with a chair*
Well, OE beo meant bee and wulf meant wolf, so it's technically not wrong.
Why is. This addictively good to watch
It’s like a sting, and a kiss

Well, at least the Beewolf wasp only kills a bee one at a time for food. Unlike the Giant Asian Hornets which can decimate a whole hive just for the hell of it.
They only do that in the fall when they need a lot of food. So they raid bee/wasp nests for the larvae.
How do they know which home their going back to?
What are the three bumps on top of the beewolf's head? Are they sensors?
Here in the U.S., they get 8" long. We call them, "Cicada killers".

“Beowulf.” The “bee wolf?” The “bear?”
Love this video - amazing footage! Just FYI, the honey bee is paralyzed, not killed, so she's nice and fresh for the wasp larva to feed on.
