This is the first memory I ever had, watching this. :) I remember feeling melancholic, happy yet sad. Been looking for this for 23 years, thank you.
I love this cartoon more than any other with the sentimental innocents and nostalgia. Thank You for the Post! I would love to hear Max Fleisher talk about this cartoon and what the other animators had to say about it. Absolutely Beautiful 💖
I think Mr. Fleisher did this one for his mom and dad
Maybe he did it for his mom and dad I don’t know but it’s just a reminder of the ones we had to love
1:38 I love this part so much. The way the song “Sidewalks of New York” was played is perfect. Too bad I can’t find the whole song played exactly like this.
Every time I think of this song, I hum it like this version.
Something innocent and nostalgic about vintage animation..good post.
I think the creator did this for his mom and dad for many years of being married it’s really adorable I guess
I wish modern cartoons had the same charm
FANTASTIC! BRAVO to Fleischer & Co.!
A cartoon from an ancient time depicting an ever older time.
a real sweet cartoon thank you for the posting
🤗I'm thankful to be an 80s baby but still love these cute cartoons❤
Seeing as the couple were in their teens (Presumably 16-19) in 1883, I'd say they were born sometime during or after the Civil War. Since this cartoon came out in 1935 that would put them in their late 60s to early 70s.
Very good...thank you for sharing!!! 😊
What a beautiful jewel 🥲
It was the Depression and many people wanted to go back in their minds to an easier (or what they may have thought) was an easier time in history (in this case 1880s/90s)
This was the final 2-strip Technicolor Color Classics cartoon.
3:35
What a guy, defeating the local Chad and his girl doesn't even run away.
It's kind of ironic that in this cartoon they are reliving the past when you wouldn't think you could go any further into the past than this cartoon itself!😁
3:46 "In the Good Old Summertimes", used in Shining Time Station.
Ring In The Old.
Holy cow.. The first VR headset in 1935..
I don't take living as a child til now
Soooo cute
A mansion? Wait, are they in heaven? Oh gosh... That's touching.
2:09 hello nightmare
6:39 I didn't know CGI was so good in the 1930s.

Color Classic, no. Masterwork? Yes. Only Disney could match the Fleischer Brothers' works of the 1920's and 30's, concluding with "Mr. Bug Goes to Town" in 1941.
third dimension.
