Just curious, in your experience did you find that the sustain increased on fretted notes with the brass nut, too, or just on the open strings...?

I didn’t notice any difference fretted but definitely with the open strings.

I would love to get the exact same brass nut to use on my LP Studio. But I don’t think the link works anymore..
    Can you recommend another link?

      Hi Hitman,
It will depend on your Les Paul. If you have a 50’s style, the nut will be slightly wider.
If you take a measurement of the nut width you have now, I will find one for you.
      Please let me know.

Yes, brass nuts have the absolute longest sustain and the smoothest decay of all nut materials (including Tusq), as well as the best tone. Too bad you didn't do a before and after demo so we could hear the difference in tone and sustain between the bone nut and the brass nut. I was considering a brass nut, but was afraid I wouldn't be able to find someone to install it. But from watching this, I may just tackle it myself. Where did you get those fret files from, and what kind of file did you use to trim down the height for the nut...?

Hi Glenn, Thanks for watching. The nut files I used are from Music Nomad-www.amazon.com/MusicNomad-Electric-Guitar-Diamond-Slotting/dp/B08ZR98HK5/ref=sr_1_12?crid=3V9VLAR30VQYS&keywords=nut+files+guitar&qid=1661333579&sprefix=Nut+fi%2Caps%2C100&sr=8-1 They are a little pricey but they work very well. To adjust the overall height, I used a series of flat files, from coarse to smooth. There are other alternatives to the music nomad nut files which also work. www.amazon.com/Holmer-Slotting-Luthier-Replacement-Cleaner/dp/B08FQN1X2H/ref=sr_1_7?crid=3V9VLAR30VQYS&keywords=nut+files+guitar&qid=1661333579&sprefix=Nut+fi%2Caps%2C100&sr=8-7 These are also very good: www.amazon.com/Metallor-Guitar-Double-Slotting-Electric/dp/B07MCZ9S8X/ref=sr_1_9?crid=3V9VLAR30VQYS&keywords=nut+files+guitar&qid=1661333579&sprefix=Nut+fi%2Caps%2C100&sr=8-9

So does the glue go on the bottom of the nut or the side toward the fret board?

I just put 2 drops in the slot. That works best for me.
