Log should be upgraded at last, first u should upgrade goblin barrel goblin gang coz if underleveled they will die to zap and u don't want that , ice spirit should also be upgraded coz if it is below opponents king level it'll never connect to the tower and no chip damage knight is the card u will use more often than tesla so it should be upgraded before tesla
Heres the order or upgrading
Goblin gang>goblin barrel>ice spirit>knight>tesla>princess>rocket>log

That comes with experience and he's not a midladder player ... At top ladder everyone uses meta decks or a fixed archetype... e.g. when u see an ice golem u know its either snow ballons or hog 2.6 when u see a fisherman u know its a Royal giant deck when u see tombstone u know its splashyard or lava deck when u see archers u know it is xbow deck when u see battle healer u know its the elixir golem deck when u see nightwitch u know its golem deck when u see princess u know its a logbait deck when u see battle ram u know its a bridgespam deck and so on ...

If I play inferno tower I only face hog and if I play Tesla I only face Lava and Golem. Also this shit splashyard and mortar is so annoying. I hate it 2 wins away from ultimate champ and than I loose 5 in a row.
