You have made some magnificent cars. But as an Alfisti, I want to thank you for all you did to restore this car. You really saved this beautiful car for future generations and shared the historie of the brand and of Pininfarina! Grazie mille! 🍀
I worked in a resto shop where a Freccia D'oro was parked in the back, gathering dust and rubbish. Truly beautiful details all over these cars, even the drivers seat which is smaller than the passenger seat, and is adjustable up and down, back and forth, unlike any other at the time. The front end uses roller bearings instead of bushes and lots more.
Why coach building is not considered a distinctive art form is beyond me. There is as much talent in designing and building this type of car than it is to designing and carving Michelangelo's David.
I used to watch your television show and this is the first video I've seen on UA-cam I love the way your guys work. It's a good video I thought that car was gorgeous.
What a stunning car. Not my era - I was born in 66 but a an Italian, I truly appreciate the elegance of this car. I wonder if Pagani had references such cars.
Please, Please, do not play ANY music, is very much distracting, your stories are so interesting that are the core of your program. Thank you so much for your videos. Regards.
The steering wheel is NOT original. Or the photo at 11:04 is showing another one. The one on the pic clearly has 3 spokes... But a beautiful car nevertheless, great work!
@@LWTUA120609 No, it is not the original wheel. We built it from scratch. I did the leather wrap on it. Also leather wrapped and hand stitched all the convertible top bows, and hand wove the "grab handles" on the rear of the seats. THAT was a challenge.
Have to say this is the most detailed, passionate, description of any vehicle that l have been privileged to view. Mr.Grainger, l have seen your shows on TV in the past and for no particular reason stopped watching . I think the Bugatti may have been too much. However, l am certain that for you, it was the most challenging and rewarding project you took on and put you and your company firmly on the world map. There is only one person l can immediately think of who can equal your passion and that is Nick Mason describing the restoration of his (1949?) V16 BRM. Needless to say l have subscribed to your channel. Thankyou.
Tank you sir for this amazing history lesson.. what an epic car! yes the car really is special indeed just like that special Bugatti (Aerolithe).. So anyway keep up this work and delight us with such awesome rare cars.. Full respect ! hat off..
I have been a fan of the Guild and followed your TV series here in the UK. Your the most amazing garage I have followed, your attention to detail is un matched and the lengths you go to in order to keep true to the original design of the vehicles is what sets you above other vehicle restoration companies. This alfa romeo 6C 2500 and the bugatti aerolithe' are both astonishing restorations. Looking forward to future builds. best wishes J.
Pinin Fourina, Harvey Earl, John DeLorean where has the style gone? How the world misses you!! Fantastic cars/art!! Great stories great videos! Please turn down the music! Keep up the great work!
David, I watched each episode of your old TV series, and I have to say...Just watching this single show, I am way more impressed now. Here is a show that would go Toe to Toe with Barnfinder. Someone from your shop (?) had a great idea with this. Thanks so much.
Love to hear the history of these classics and see how they are brought back to life. I live in Toronto, next time I am going north of TO I will check this place out
Fabulous car and wonderful documentary. Pay no attention to the nit-pickers who want everything perfect. Hey guys go visit a restorer and try to have a normal conversation. Thank you sir.
they say there is no picture of the steering wheel, yet he refers to a picture taken in 1946 to document the dashboard and there is a banjo steering wheel. Is that a later addition to the car then ? (11:06)
David, I haven't seen one of your UA-cam videos in quite a few years. This is every bit as good as any of the old ones I remember. Your presentation is always excellent and this car is spectacular! I certainly hope you keep posting new (or even old material I haven't seen... that's still new to me!) videos of your work. Thanks - Gary
Mate, I love Beethoven to bits but there’s no need to use his masterpieces, even the ‘Pastoral’ as background noise, or any other inappropriate music that obscures the narration.
R U Mad? " 'Pastoral' as a background noise"...how exactly can that be a noise? Man speaks clearly and you can understand every word even at low volume! This is not about video it is about the car!!!
does anyone know what is the silver car showed from its rear in the very beginning of the video? the one in the far left - haven't found it in any of the other videos (and yeah, i'm also for getting rid of the music and also for showing the car more, it's not showcased enough :) )
Fascinating story, most interesting, but please turn the music down, it's hard in some cases to hear the narration depending upon the tempo of the music!
The steering wheel is NOT original. Or the photo at 11:04 is showing another one. The one on the pic clearly has 3 spokes... But a beautiful car nevertheless, great work!
Holy hell you're right. Must be from a different car though because the wheel that they produced had curved spokes and definitely doesn't match the one in that photo. It's further confusing that he's talking about this particular car in regards to the original dashboard while the photo is being displayed. So the dash matches but wheel definitely does not. Curious.
Attributing the lines of the Austin-Healey to this car is, surely, incorrect? As a subsequent shot reveals, it was clearly the earlier Healey, or Nash-Healey, that it inspired. Also, it's a pity the video doesn't show details of the drivetrain - and barely a glimpse of the magnificent twin-cam straight-six.
I worked at a shop where there was a Frescia D'oro parked in the back for many years. Even it's sad state the owner has turned down somwe 5 figure offeres for it..and if there had been no Pinin Farina ,I would never had my Austin A60....... ha ha
The classical music during the presentation, I know why it was included, but it distracts. The video is an important record of automotive history. The restoration and video should be the same quality. I'm in awe of the artistry and skill of the people who restored that work of art. No music!
Why do the Italians see things different than most of the us? Because that's where design actually come from - the ability to see things the way they should perfectly be even before they are created. Till date, a lot of cars and other things are still being designed by the Italians.
That is gorgeous. I love the interior details, especially the clear plastic knobs - like something you might see on a 1950's Gibson guitar...
You have made some magnificent cars. But as an Alfisti, I want to thank you for all you did to restore this car. You really saved this beautiful car for future generations and shared the historie of the brand and of Pininfarina! Grazie mille! 🍀
Thank you for such an interesting presentation focused on the car history and highlighting the importance of this car.
I worked in a resto shop where a Freccia D'oro was parked in the back, gathering dust and rubbish. The front end uses roller bearings instead of bushes and lots more.
Nice. Not only the detailed restoration, but the relevant history. A very attractive car with a very informing heritage. Lots to like here.
This show is getting better and better love it
Excellent narration, story telling, insight. Well done.
Why coach building is not considered a distinctive art form is beyond me. There is as much talent in designing and building this type of car than it is to designing and carving Michelangelo's David.
Agree wholeheartedly.
This car is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful car designed in the history of automobiles.
Need to turn the music down alot more to hear what the guy is saying then it would be perfect
Beautiful Alfetta (Alfa Romeo)
Just a Beauty... piece of Art
From Portugal,EU with Love for Cars !!
Keep up the good work
Not all Alfas are "Alfettas"....
I used to watch your television show and this is the first video I've seen on UA-cam I love the way your guys work. It's a good video I thought that car was gorgeous.
thank you
Superb account of this car's significance and rich history.
I can't relate to any of these guys, but I'm glad they're saving historical items from a bygone era. 👩🔧
Magnificent work! Stunning car!
What a stunning car. Not my era - I was born in 66 but a an Italian, I truly appreciate the elegance of this car. I wonder if Pagani had references such cars.
Great upload very greatful for the history especially on the drop tanks...
Great story telling about a great car!
Please, Please, do not play ANY music, is very much distracting, your stories are so interesting that are the core of your program. Thank you so much for your videos. Regards.
Agreed tasteful music at an untasteful sound level. Imho LOve Guild videos.
SECOND AND THIRD that.
the music is fine, helps the story. and it's not like the music is over-dubbing his voice.
I wish I could like this video more than once
The car is, without question, stunning...but that steering wheel though, it's a work of art, just incredible....
The steering wheel is NOT original. Or the photo at 11:04 is showing another one. The one on the pic clearly has 3 spokes... But a beautiful car nevertheless, great work!
@@LWTUA120609 No, it is not the original wheel. We built it from scratch. I did the leather wrap on it.

on the rear of the seats. THAT was a challenge.
What a wonderful looking car.

Great history! I love this type of story
Wow, that is a thing of rare beauty.
You are one of the best , bravo from mexico
My God what a job ! I know what does it mean restoring a classic and that is a awesome attention to details masterpiece. Congratulations
Love your car stories!
Tank you sir for this amazing history lesson.. what an epic car! yes the car really is special indeed just like that special Bugatti (Aerolithe).. So anyway keep up this work and delight us with such awesome rare cars.. Full respect ! hat off..
Awesome video guys, very informative. This channel will grown in no time.

That car is a stunningly beautiful piece of machinery....
Pinin farina 💔💔💔
Genius 👏👏👏👏
Pinin Fourina, Harvey Earl, John DeLorean where has the style gone? How the world misses you!! Fantastic cars/art!! Great stories great videos! Please turn down the music! Keep up the great work!
Fan of Dave s dressing
Fascinating. What a history!
Saw this car at Villa D'Este (Villa d'Erba)...
Great car!
A very good story, that answered all my questions.
David, I watched each episode of your old TV series, and I have to say...Just watching this single show, I am way more impressed now. Here is a show that would go Toe to Toe with Barnfinder. Someone from your shop (?) had a great idea with this. Thanks so much.
Fantastic ,very interesting must be very rewarding to save something that is by this master designer.
Simply magnificent...my compliments
I know this is an older video that I had just stumbled across, but if at all possible can you please upload a version of it without the music. PLEASE.
Love to hear the history of these classics and see how they are brought back to life. I live in Toronto, next time I am going north of TO I will check this place out
FANTASTIC VIDEO !!!!
You guys do amazing work
Great video thnx does that car has some history !
Genius idea of parking the car out the front of the Show "Every one had to walk by that car"
What a truly wonderful restoration. Your team are a bunch of geniuses...or is it genii ?
Beautiful car so stunning
You do have amazing knowledge, but!! how about showing Alfa a little bit more :(
Nice blouse!
I've got a photo somewhere of my late grandmother wearing practically the same one.
Lovely car though.
Amazing story...as usual...only at The Guild!!!
Greetings from Argentina David, greetings to everybody at the shop!
Love every thing about the car &show ,
Nice video. The Mustang you show at 9:31 is the P-51D prototype. It's a modified P-51B. You can tell by the B/C wings.
Well done absolutely gorgeous
How totally extraordinary that they didn't even bother to get the car out of the shop to film it on its own!
This team does fantastic be work.
Enjoy the TV series when it was on I wish it was still on, not many shows showing Canadian Automotive Restorers
Restoration Garage will be returning in the early new year with season IV on Discovery Velocity. Thanks for watching!
Background music should have been Karl Zero's Music For Cabriolets. Wonderful recording. And lots of choices.
Fabulous car and wonderful documentary. Pay no attention to the nit-pickers who want everything perfect. Hey guys go visit a restorer and try to have a normal conversation. Thank you sir.
The damage of WW2 lingers on..But atleast they got scrap aluminum..I like the glass knobs.. back round music is very nice
Great stuff.
Farina designed a multitude of cars for European makers through the 50s and 60s, BMC, Peugeot amongst them.
Was there music? I had to go back and watch again. I was so interested in listening to the narrative I didn't even hear the music.
they say there is no picture of the steering wheel, yet he refers to a picture taken in 1946 to document the dashboard and there is a banjo steering wheel. Is that a later addition to the car then ? (11:06)
Stunning!!!
Whata history! Thanks!
Well done.
love this stuff.

Hope i can visit you on monday ,coming to Canada from Noway tomorrow : )
Please drop in Monday, let us know when you visit
Stunning 🇬🇧
Please post more videos!
What was the place this car was taken to for the first time (concurs)? The one where the judges did not appreciate it?
What happened to the drive train? Didn't you say the engine was missing? What's the engine now?
Mate, I love Beethoven to bits but there’s no need to use his masterpieces, even the ‘Pastoral’ as background noise, or any other inappropriate music that obscures the narration.
R U Mad? " 'Pastoral' as a background noise"...how exactly can that be a noise? Man speaks clearly and you can understand every word even at low volume! This is not about video it is about the car!!!
Next time we play Deep Purple Smoke on the water
NO one mentions the Jaguar XJS , why is that ? are thy scrap or has there time jet not come ??
I only watch this show cuz. Of David. Really
That hair piece is totally convincing!.
... once it's turned around, yes.
Great story
it's a beauty. concours events are pathetically decadent, though some cars are worth restoring to that level.
does anyone know what is the silver car showed from its rear in the very beginning of the video? the one in the far left - haven't found it in any of the other videos (and yeah, i'm also for getting rid of the music and also for showing the car more, it's not showcased enough :) )
do you mean the 64 Corvette?
Marvelous, but be sure we see all of it. Even the flooring. Does anyone know from watching this just what the seats really look like?
Fascinating story, most interesting, but please turn the music down, it's hard in some cases to hear the narration depending upon the tempo of the music!
The steering wheel is NOT original. Or the photo at 11:04 is showing another one. The one on the pic clearly has 3 spokes... But a beautiful car nevertheless, great work!

Just a note the classical music in the back ground is highly distracting and covers up the tone of your voice. Interesting history.
I sure hope that lushous coupe body wasn't discarded. Mybe imperfectly proportioned, but still a one of one?
Attributing the lines of the Austin-Healey to this car is, surely, incorrect? As a subsequent shot reveals, it was clearly the earlier Healey, or Nash-Healey, that it inspired. Also, it's a pity the video doesn't show details of the drivetrain - and barely a glimpse of the magnificent twin-cam straight-six.
Trend setter!

Donde esta el pegaso z102 Español.?
wow this guy has a wild imagination!
what happened? you started a good show on youtube then stopped posting???
Love the hair dye
Quite a story
The music is too loud 😓
The classical music during the presentation, I know why it was included, but it distracts. The video is an important record of automotive history. The restoration and video should be the same quality. I'm in awe of the artistry and skill of the people who restored that work of art. No music!
Alfa Romeo de l art les autres des tracteurs
Want to see the car not the narrarator please. Thanks.
Great video, could no cope with the music,
Barris Did Not build the Batmobile ! My friends did.! Jack Wiemer .and Late Chuck Miller
