    Clare
    I love your shawls, I have taught myself crochet through your website and you-tube channel.I made your Granny Shawl for my Mum when she has her radio therapy and she loves it. I edged it with a furry yarn, she calls it her HUG. Making her the V Stitch one for Christmas.....Love Tony

    After repeat start and stopping your video this newbie can honestly say, Yay I did it and it's beautiful in a royal blue. Thank you so much for your time and clear instructions. Wished I could post my picture so you can be proud of this 62 yr grandma picking up this hobby so late in life and loving it. Thanks again because without these videos I would have caught on as fast because I still have to learn to read patterns all the abbreviations used in them for stitches and the steps which I'm sure I will because this is the best thing I have done for myself in a long time. :)

      Brenda I am also self taught from the various tutorials for the past 2 1/2 yrs. I personally am a visual learner vice reading patterns. There are so many lovely tutorials & I find Bob's are one of the best as she explains everything so well. Plus your sense of humor is quite cute.

    I’m back! I actually have started a v-stitch shawl. The pattern is super easy, and fun.
    I’m using a Caron Cake... Faerie Cake, as requested for a great niece.. The hook is a Susan Bates J-10..
    I love this shawl..I wish I could post a picture here. I will be using this pattern again..
    Thank you so much for showing us how to use the V-Stitch in a Triangular Shawl.

    I just finished this project in a creamy off white color and used a opalescent button. It turned out beautifully. I'll be giving this as a gift for next Christmas...I know, I've started really early...

    I really like this shawl... and it will be my next one. The v-stitch is very attractive. I have been making Granny Triangular shawls...which I love, because they have that classic shawl look,,, This will be a nice change. Thank you so much.

    LOVE all of your videos, in my opinion they are the best ones out there! So clear and I love how you never leave anything out, even the little things that may be obvious to you, but not so to us. Thanks so much for sharing these with us, I really appreciate it! :-)

    Hi Clare - I'd love to know where I can post my big shawl I just finished from this video. It's WONderful, soft, luscious and so pretty! It's just amazing how different yarns make a pattern look so unique. This is the best pattern ever for a shawl, and you can make the edging any way you like to for variety. Thank you SO much for your great tutorials, written and video!

    Hi Clare, I love you tutorials. I'm fairly new at crocheting and there great to follow. I'm from Sydney and I do get confuse when watching videos with USA yarn being used. To try and match up with what I have or to buy from stores like Spotlight, K-Mart or Big W. For this shawl what yarn ply should I use is it 4ply, 8ply or 10ply or something else. regards Dawn

    • @CrochetwithClare
      @CrochetwithClare  10 років тому

      Hello Dawn Cockroft I completely understand your frustration :)
      To get the same thickness of yarn in the video you can use a 10 ply yarn BUT you can use any yarn for this project :)
      Worsted weight - 10 ply
      Spots weight - 8ply - DK
      Finger weight - Australian baby 4ply

  • @donnaridenour8910
    @donnaridenour8910 7 років тому

    approximately how many rows is suitable for the shorter cowl? I love the stitches, it's easy to do. I just need an approximation so I don't make it too large.

    • @CrochetwithClare
      @CrochetwithClare  7 років тому

      you can make a cowl as thin or thick as you like. shawls have to at least wrap around your neck.

    • @CrochetwithClare
      @CrochetwithClare  9 років тому

      Luanne Roeder Yes and no...the last row is ...but it has a eyelet row before you do the last row . if you watch the video at the 2 minute mark it tells you about the difference

    Hi do you control or fix it from looking more round at the bottom instead of V shaped.

    hi . I don't have 7mm crochet hook . it's ok to use 6.5 or 8mm . I am making the shawl

    • @CrochetwithClare
      @CrochetwithClare  8 років тому

      yes you can use what you have. i would go up instead of down so it drapes better. the larger hook though will make your shawl larger and will take a bit more yarn than what is in the pattern but will still look great
