  • Join me as I explore a farm that I knew as a child. I remember a very large red brick Federal style home here, but developers have pushed it over and buried it's remains. I try to find the actual footprint of the home and do some detecting while I am at it. A heavy rainstorm settles in and fores me from the field.

I wish my grandfather were alive today, I'd bet he'd continue to share his life and what he knows because he knew a lot. But until I see him again, I continue to be awed by your wisdom and your knowledge! Keep up the great work! I'm impressed by every upload!

Narcissus were common around homes because they were hardy and proliferate like mad! Matter of fact, in my town a local church had planted the same some ten years ago and now we have rogue narcissus up and down two blocks!

Hunting a site like that one is bear! All the iron and debris plus the soil being disturbed all adds up to digging through layers of trash to maybe find one relic or coin.
Try as we may to find the sweet hunts we do come across sites like this. It's all part of the process.
Still it's a go to place to grid search. Who knows, might still be something worth while there.
    Happy travels!
    Beeps.

It is sad that Developers did that. What was the point really? To avoid paying taxes and insurance on the house? Well....maybe with any luck no development will go in there.
Might be a cool thing to gather up some of those bulbs another time and replant those daffodils and narcissus at your home since this property meant something to you from childhood. 😉

Check out "Radarscope" Chigg. The most awesome of awesome radar apps. Shows tornados, hail, lightening strikes, direction and speed of travel of each individual cell and of course rain. It updates every couple of minutes. Very sophisticated radar app....in fact their software is used by TV stations etc. It showed a tornado coming my way and sure enough it passed about 300 yds from me, as I stood on the front porch and watch it ripping tin off of buildings and signs. I use it extensively while fishing to see if I need to make a run for it or will the storm miss me. Great video btw.

Now you could simulate it with lead just to see if there is merit to this!!!

I know the word permission is a noun, but it seems awkward when using it in in this context. Calling it a location, site, area or field is okay. Everyone already assumes you are allowed to be there by the land owner.
