Reduced to $625,000!! - (2004) Great Harbour GH47 Liveaboard Trawler Yacht For Sale
Вставка
- Опубліковано 5 жов 2024
- One of the very first boats I featured on this channel, was a Great Harbour GH47. Fast forward around 3 years later, and over 200 videos later, the Great Harbour GH47 still stands as one of the best liveaboard trawler yachts I have ever seen! This 2004 example, has been designed, built, and maintained with an open check book from day 1. This is the only GH47 that is powered by the larger 100hp diesels, giving a cruising speed of 8.5 knots, and a whopping 3,000 mile range!!
For close quarter maneuvering, this one is not only twin screw, but is also equipped with both a bow and stern thruster. These controls are replicated at both the lower helm and the flybridge.
You can find the details of this listing on Yachtworld at www.yachtworld.... You can also view more details regarding the construction and layout of the boat on the manufacturers site at www.greatharbou....
I hope you enjoy this video!

While not much to look at from outside, it has a charming interior. This would make an excellent Great Loop and Great Lakes cruiser. That 3000nm range means you could easily spend a season in one area (like Georgian Bay) just exploring all over the place, especially with that shallow draft. An unassuming charmer. Thanks for another great tour.
Thanks for watching. The first time I walked up to a GH47, I wasn't 100% sold on the outside as they don't share the same lines we've all come to expect.....but 2 steps inside, and I'm hooked 😎
If you're not Blue water crossing and can back off to 6.5 to 7nm, then you may even expect 4000+ range. I think she is stunning from the outside...as in she looks like the real deal :)
There's a lot of features packed into this one - what a beauty.
The best interior I've ever seen on a Great Harbour. Alot of money was put into this boat. A real beauty.
I agree 👍 I've been on every model they have built so far now, and this one still exceeded all expectations 🤠
Three years and three hundred thousand dollars ago, I had a great interest in the GH47. They were in the $400-$550k price category then. I love the long range and the simplicity of the 4-cyl Yanmars plus a full sized fridge and the extra cabin on top! Although this boat is lovely and very well taken care of, I just don't see the value here vs. others in the $300-400k range. I believe I will wait until the next financial crash for my oportunity.
Such a well maintained charming vessel. I really like the twin 100hp Yanmars. Redundancy, maneuverability and fuel economy. Yup, classic charm throughout. Thanks for the look and see!
Very practical and economical for a married couple to enjoy retirement cruising, or at least that's how I would predict most buyers to be.
What an absolutely gorgeous boat!! The woodwork alone is just stunning!! So much luxurious comfort, this should sell quickly!! Thanks for the tour Sir!! ✌️🏳️🌈✌️
Thanks Bryan, I wasn't expecting that woodwork at all when I stepped onboard. I'd love to call this one home if I could 😎
I’ve been on one just like this one. A well built and designed boat. And sitting atop on that flybridge provides all the view you’d ever need. I as looking down on every other boat in the marina, even the 60 footers.
I filmed one of these models when it was for sale in a marina in Longboat Key, and I had the very same experience. The boat looks and feels so much bigger than it actually is. Thanks for watching and taking the time to comment.
It's amazing how many "experts" come out in the comments section, especially the haughty price snobs. Excellent layout and choice of engines is very nice for economy. Thanks for the video.
Thanks for watching, and I'm glad you enjoyed it 😊
I was really surprised on this boat . There’s so much packed into what looks like a short vessel ! WOW ! And it’s semi-close to me .
Wait till you see the Great Harbour N37 video probably over the weekend or early next week. You would never believe she's 37ft 😱
Hi Garnock reviews,This is a nice liveaboard yacht and where you can see the world past around you in a slow way great wirh a good size accommodation tor 6 or 7 people in great comfort and i like the shape of this yacht Great show Garnock ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Thanks Manuel. These are very rare boats as only a handful were ever made. I'd love to slow cruise in something like this and spend winters in Florida, and summers up north 🤠
@@GarnockReviews Exactly, Garnock. An adaptable, exceptionally prepared vessel that could easily take you as far up as Maine & the Maritimes during the summers and do offshore hops all the way south to the Bahamas or Eastern Caribbean in the winters. Lots of daydreaming potential here.
I love the Large Fridge/Freezer. Unusual on this small a vessel at this age
I 100% agree. You will love the N37 when I get it finished. 37ft with laundry facilities, full cooking facilities, and a full size fridge freezer 😱
Hello, I've seen a bunch of your tours and you always deliver a great walk through. You have extensive knowledge and you provide wonderful insight as to how equipment functions. And you always show what the storage compartments entail. Thanks!
You are more than welcome! I appreciate the kind comments and feedback. 😊
wow,,for a 47 footer,..this is a beautiful boat
Biggest 47 footer ever 😁
What a beautiful boat for the money
A great tour of this wonderful vessel unfortunately far out of my price range but this boat is packed with everything I would need. Thank you for the interesting tour
She's out of my league these days as well, but I certainly see the appeal for those looking to buy a liveaboard trawler 🤠
Thank you for sharing a beautiful yacht.😊
You are very welcome 😎
I’m new to this. But my goodness they really know how to put a boat together 😊
I'd be proud to own a Great Harbour, especially either the N37 or GH37. Those 2 are my favorite models.
Another fantastic review. What a wonderful yacht. Thank you for these tours.
You are more than welcome. Thanks for watching 😉
Greetings from Maine. Thank you for sharing!
Thank you for watching 😎
Absolutely gorgeous yacht-on the inside. The exterior, not so much. This shape maximizes interior accommodations, but it seems one would have to be cautious in a heavy sea. It has such high bulwarks it looks like there's a risk of knock-down from a beamsea
The inside is perfect for liveaboard cruising. As to the height, the majority of the weight is low down with the engines and tanks providing a low center of gravity. The main superstructure has a core lightweight construction, helping to limit the tendency to pitch and roll in heavy winds or seas etc.
she is an absolute beauty to live aboard. and i love that cabin behind the pilot house.
But in all truth, I would not take her out on to anything but calm seas. I served on a frigate in the german navy and i have seen what forces are out there on the seas and her fiberglass/plastic hull is not made for any of that. There is a reason even most small seagoing yachts are made of steel. (maybe not in the US but everywhere else in the world)
Thanks Billy. It seems USA likes fiberglass, Europe favors steel, and Austrlia favors aluminum. As far as fiberglass goes, this has to be one of the strongest boats I've been on. I'd trust her a lot more than most boats of a similar size 😉
@@GarnockReviews Thank you for showing this little beauty. i realy love the layout and of course the interior finish is absolute astonishing. :)
If I had the money I would drive down there and buy it today. Beautiful Yacht
It would be worth the trip as this one is presented in as new condition 🤠
Nice living space but not a sexy yacht at all. The value is always subject to what someone will pay of course but at 20 years old I would have to call this s $350,000 yacht tops. I have been looking for a new yacht for a bit and found the Nordhavn 41, 2024 for about $900,000 to be very interesting. However, who knows as I do so enjoy my sailboat alot. 😇
Boat values have always been all over the place for me. I recently received an email about possibly filming a 2002 Fleming 55 that's well over $1m. You could buy this GH47 and the McKinna I filmed recently for the same price. As much as Great Harbour are still very much in business, the GH47 only had a short production run. I believe only 9 were made, and this is the only one with larger engines, and most GH47s didn't have flybridge. Time will tell, but stunning liveaboard for sure 😎
What a super cool boat....20 years old???? Looks like new....how can that engine room be so clean???? Hat's off to the owners. I think a great price point compared to some of the big name rivals. I'd like to see some of the rivals start to use Yanmar engines a bit more. Makes the new price of the boat cheaper, parts are cheaper, rebuilds are cheaper & replacement is way way cheaper!!!!!
Thanks! There's hardly a glimpse of anything onboard that looks remotely close to 20 years old. They unfortunately don't make this model any more, but this feels like you can but a brand new one today 😎
Wow. Did this boat cost this much new? 20 years old and they want their money back.
Gawd what a beauty. But with a 3ft draft it looks like a strong wind capsize it.
At first glance, I'd agree.....but there is a lot of thought went into the design. The engines, fuel, and water sit low in the hull. The top half has a very lightweight core construction. This stops the boat being top heavy and rolling. As for docking, you have twin screw as well as both bow and stern thrusters. You should be able to handle anything most boats of this can handle if not more 😉
I love the interior,i myself love the cozy look that wood gives off,the outside is rather drabe for the money
The interior almost has a cabin feel to it. I could easily live on this one or spend long periods of time onboard.
Nice
now THAT is a boat.
My 3rd GH47 video, and I still jump at the chance to get onboard when Great Harbour calls 🤠
i look at these like the land rover of trawlers. perhaps not with the sexiest exterior lines but a rugged attractiveness and eminently reliable and capable. @@GarnockReviews
A really lovely boat, thanks for sharing. Just a bit above my spending range though.
Totally awesome!!!
Thanks 😎
Very sharp looking boat. Would be great for a live aboard for 3 months island hopping.
Perfect for that, and slow enough to troll fish as you go 🤪
Great Harbors are extremely well built and sensibly engineered so all systems are easily maintained as most of them are by knowledgeable owners. The desirability along with the limited production and high quality is reflected in the price in the used boat market.
I'm not a mechanic or engineer by any means, but these boats give me confidence that you could quickly learn to do the vast majority of maintenance tasks on your own. You don't need a crew, perfect for husband and wife team 😉
8:14 Damn!!!! I haven't seen one of those Alarm Clocks in decades! Did they even use this boat?
Wow... $695k for what we'll call... the Pug-Nose Trawler
Interesting boat. I wonder how it does in a seaway. Looks too top heavy and only three feet of draft….
You can find more info on the hull construction at the manufacturer site www.greatharbourtrawlers.com/gh47.html
I am looking for a boat , well, similar to this - ( converted ) of course, to allow me to take on the Oceans of the world? Any advice, while I'm looking? cheers World , appreciated.... 😎
I'd recommend getting a very good survey and engine inspection before heading across oceans. I'd also recommend hooking up flow meters so you can accurately calculate the true fuel range too. Best of luck in your sailing adventures 🤠
I like the boat. Although it looks like it could b tossed around quite easily , by wind or waves
Thanks for watching. At first I thought she would be top heavy and roll easily, but that's not the case. The engines, fuel, and water sit low in the hull to give weight. The top half of the yacht has a lightweight cored construction. It's very strong, but you never feel the boat move when walking around.
End of an era ... : {
Nice on the inside but how odd on the outside.
Not the most conventional design on the outside, but that interior mixed with the fuel economy and range makes this a fantastic option for those looking for a liveaboard trawler 😎
nice
Id like a huge draft hull
Типа батискаф ? Или субмарин ?
I hate the lack of exterior space
Not sure I follow you on this one. You have a small area on the bow, tender on the upper aft deck, and that flybridge has to be something like 30ft long.
@@GarnockReviewsmy boat has a lot more space in the back which is what I prefer. Sorry for not being clear.
@@ross.neuberthРыболовный траулер имеет отличную кормовую площадку .
Did they sell it?
As far as I know, this one is still for sale.
This is a nice vessel. But Im questioning the amount of air draft in reference to the low draft of 3'. Seems this would be a top heavy vessel, also more so with the amount of beam. Just thoughts
At first I thought the same, but not now. The engines, fuel, and water sit low in the hull. The top half is constructed of a lightweight core construction. Although she is tall, she isn't top heavy. When you walk around the boat, even with multiple adults on the side deck next to the helm door, she doesn't move an inch.
I'm sorry this boat might be worth about 250-300K in another 2-3 years it's just too weird and too old.
I mean, that's probably what you'd pay for it right now.
But that' doesn't mean it's worth what you'd pay for it.
Haha, Your Fishing! Its worth 600K. It has a lot in a small space. I bet in a stiff Quartering wind it is hard to hold course… so tall
Not for dreamers of world sailing without any need of maintenance or straight repairs.
The tug style inland/coastal cruiser is actually very popular and desirable.
She is a Bristol vessel for certain… kudos to her owner. That said, she is long in the tooth and that price is outlandishly high. The real red flags for me are (1) her engines… 100 HP Yanmars? Her low cruising speed is dangerous in open oceans with a top speed only a few knots more. You cruise at sea…you are going to hit big seas and storms… a big fuel tank with tiny engines and long range are ridiculous. And she needs a bunch of new electronics and redundant systems. Hew owner has a major problem…. poor planning when buying equals getting beat up when selling. He is looking at a beating… no way I would cruise on this boat let alone entertain buying her. He gets maybe $350,000 on a good day with a novice buyer.
👍❤️
Unfort not in Europe😢
I wonder what it would cost to ship something like this across the pond 🤔
Price is Way off for a 20 year old. Live aboard marketing means she is no longer sea worthy?
350 k tops but as the economy sinks ( pardon the pun ) take any offer and run . That kind of money can get you a 20 year old 70 ish footer . Owners always think their boats are worth way more than the markets do .
Try to find dockage for a 70 footer that would have the room of this 47 and good luck with the fuel gobbling old 2 stroke Detroits that come on most old large yachts.
"As the economy sinks..............?" Where do you live? Things are flying high in the US where I live.
@@tommymonzaПо правде говоря , эта шхуна по планировке внутреннего пространства и внешнему виду больше похожа на специальный транспорт , чем на яхту .
"Economy sinks..." Where do you live?
600k too much lol
And if I said $150k, I'd get comments asking what's wrong with it? It's too cheap 🤦♂️🤷♂️
Great live aboard, but not sure about sea abilities. Over priced IMHO
Please don't use fish eye lens, the boats look hideous.
Tortoise Trawler Ha Ha or
Put Put Trawler
My goodness……..that is very far away from ever being considered an attractive boat !
What a hidious boat, too short, far too high, draft of only 3 ft, it wil flip ober in the first waves. I do notunderstand the enthousiasm for this boeat of the seller, i am a broker in holland, and i would have refused selling such a ugly boat. Moreover for that price!!
Thank you for taking the time to watch this video. When my Dad and I had our boat business in Scotland, we had a satellite office in Holland. The Dutch have a different market than most places. Typically, we would get steel boats with low air draft and wide beams.
I personally don't have any safety concerns with the Great Harbour lineup, especially once you dig deep and understand their construction and design. In simple terms, the top half is very light from a core construction method. The bottom half has the engines and all that fuel and water.
Different markets have different demands, but I'm willing to bet this one won't stay for sale for long 😉
@@GarnockReviews Would you really cross with this Firth of Forth in November?
Smaller Great Harbours have sailed to Hawaii on their own power 😉
10:00 Wait what! Twin screw with bow and stern thrusters on a sub 50 ft yacht! A drunk Joe Biden could dock this thing.
Not sure that's how Great Harbour described it in the brochure 🤪🤷♂️
I noticed the back aft door is NOT Watertight...Is it safe? Is there a reason why they did not make the doors water-tight??
You can find more info on the construction of this model on the manufacturer website including this extract.....Like all Great Harbour Trawlers, the GH47's first priority is safety. It begins with an unsinkable hull, made possible by the use of a buoyant core material in the decks, superstructure and hull area above the rub rail. If the unthinkable happens, the vessel is designed to remain afloat until help arrives or until the crew can safely transfer to a life raft. Below the rub rail, the solid fiberglass construction is heavy and robust - designed to withstand severe impacts including an inadvertent grounding. The dual props are protected by twin keels, which will allow the boat to be dried out on her own bottom. Unlike so many other full displacement trawlers, the GH47 is powered by twin diesels, which add a huge margin of safety and reliability, especially when cruising far from boat yards or civilization.
www.greatharbourtrawlers.com/gh47.html
Great Harbours are definitely kind of weird looking, but they are very impressive. Forever out of my price range, but impressive.
They are easy to spot in the marina 😁. Once you step onboard though, you're instantly hooked. I totally understand the appeal in these boats.
It's bijou and funky and if you get 200k, take it.
