I love the xrap 4 with size 4 vmc inline single hooks as a replacement for the trebles. I think they actually enhance the action and when you get into bigger crappies that wider gap of the single hook gets a little deeper bite behind the mouth cartilage vs the trebles that can get into just that peper thin membrane.
Xrap #6 and #4 for crappies i replace my trebles with vmc 7237 inline single hooks. You can f>sh through the trash better without fouling so much, and hookup % i cant say changes either positive or negative. I do believe though a single inline hooks hooks them better in a harder part of the mouth since the hook gap is twice as wide it allows the hook to penetrate behind the hard top lip centered in the snout vs off to one side like the trebles do, resulting in tear outs in the thin spots. It also seems to enhance the action of the lure as well.
I really enjoy the content they show but they reuse a lot of there footage tips and ads and that can be frustrating. I prefer to see new content released during the appropriate times of year.
Thank you for the explication for fishing crappie! 😊
That was a great video and tip. Thanks for sharing can't wait to try out.
