My congratulations, you have made my dream come true, to have a collection of vintage video equipment, all my respect and admiration, greetings from Mexico 🇲🇽
I always look forward to watching your videos. please tell me. In the video, you talked about the problem with the HR-W1's HD mode, but do you know the solution?
Hi 4e287 ! The problem with the HR-W1 may be caused by 2 reasons : bad capacitors and damaged IC in W-VHS box. Bad capacitors problem can be sloved by replacing all of them, but damaged IC can not be repared.
@@misu4602 it had problem with no power, but I replaced all the capacitors in the power supply board and it's fine now. It has no picture/static distortion on VHS and SVHS mode. W-vhs mode works perfectly.
@@wer123456 For the HR-X7 or HR-W5 models, they often have problems with the Y/C circuit board that causes the problem of loss picture. It is a small circuit that plugs vertically next to the digital box. Usually, it is also solved by replacing all the capacitors on that board.
@@misu4602 I see that board on the left! Thanks. I thought the visible capacitors might be faulty, especially since I saw at least one leaking capacitor in the PSU. Thanks for the tip! Also a fun fact: I recently came into possession of some previously recorded W-VHS tapes from Japan. One tape was recorded in SD mode, but it was the only piece of SD content that played back perfectly in the S-video output. I guess that mode is also handled by the W-VHS board in the bottom? Another question: you know those variable resistors/dials in the back on what I presume is the tuner board? Are they all just for tuning?
Hi Huazhe ! BS stands for Broadcast Satellite . BS VCR can connect with a parabola antena and recieve broadcast satellite programs ( it's required to register for the service).

Hello, I have a HR-W5 whose VHS/S-VHS circuits have failed. Do you reckon I can replace the capacitors that are visible from the top-view?
