7 was my entire life. Despite having "ended" support in 2020, it still got service update which is what made me happy. Despite being able to be upgraded to 10 today, it still bothers me every day. Windows 7, you will forever be within our hearts, even if you were released 13 years ago (which is crazy to think about btw!).
Mine too, but I didn't knew it died in 2023, I thought it was in 2021, (not because I didn't use that day) but my family had to go to Slovenia because how strict was in Bosnia, but we bought 2 new laptops and they are both windows 10s.
My dad used to have windows 95 when he was a little kid but he threw it in the trash because of its end support and he used to have windows 7 for his work but he lost his windows 7 on 2020 when that was the year of the end support
My dad had a Windows 98 and a Windows XP. I remember doing work at kindergarten year on a windows vista and a windows 7. The good old times. You’ll all be missed. 😭
Trivia/fun facts: 0:29 Although most 3.1x services had been ended by Dec 2001, some WFW 3.11 versions had still been supported to November 2008, making the lifespan of the software around 15 years (around 18 if we count from 3.00's initial release.) Server versions of Windows tend to have a longer lifespan on the market compared to commercial versions of Windows.. (although i could be wrong looking at 7 and XP's lifespans.) The most recent version to end support was Server 2008 on January 9th, 2024 (7 days before I posted this comment.) which lasted an impressive almost 16 years of support.

I was born in the year 2000. When my parents got me a new computer for my 9th birthday (Nov 11), I was WAY too excited. I remember bragging to my friends that I used Windows 7, because their families computers ran XP. I used that computer for a while, I loved it. It was the best thing on planet earth at this point. When Windows 7 ended support in 2020, I didn’t really get to experience it, as this computer broke in 2018, and I got a new one, which no surprise ran Windows 10. Today, I want the Windows 7 days back.
Microsoft from the start has made a lot of OS before the Windows family. Such as MS-DOS. Im using a Windows 8.1 since the Windows 8 was a failure, along with some of other people may be using Windows before 8.1 thanks for giving more than 1 and a half of a decade on the OS universe.
After 2.5 years of leaving out from watching content about this subdivision of Windows fandom, I return back to listen r.i.p. startup and shutdown of Windows...
I've grown up on XP and 7, and man it's been a ride on what I'd consider the 2 best Windows operating systems ever. (Right ahead of 95 and 98, which I love and still use once in a while, mainly 95!) Just seeing my childhood operating system and what was an inspiration for millions just fade away makes me wish I could reexperience the whole journey here. Despite currently having been on 10 for a few years now (after my 7 laptop finally gone out), I still miss them deep down. Forever in our hearts, Windows 1-3x, 95, 98, XP, 7, 10X and even Vista and Millennium. Thanks for being with us, inspiring us, helping us, and the several other things that have got us here. Even if they ended yesterday or 2 decades ago, they have definitely left a mark in the world.
It’s sad to know. Windows 8.1 has finally ended its support. It’s also sad to know that time passes fast and now Windows 10 is about to end as it ends in 2025. RIP Windows 8.1 :( You were the best OS… Edit: Windows 7 also ends this year…
Even if these are unofficial, they're SUPER convincing. Also, the one at 11:31 sounds like a theme for when the universe decays into nothingness (this won't become severe until about 20 trillion years from now, but it'll go on until 10 to the hundredth power years from now).

might be enough, i got dizzy when looking at the zeros
@@CerealNumberWDW1984 Actually, it's too many... That's way more than a hundred zero's... I don't know what number you typed, but I do know it's unbelievably large.
10 to the hundredth power is a googol, which looks like 10000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000.
My personal favorite is 7, probably because I grew up with it and how solid it was lol. The thing that gets me though is how the music ends. It's like it's saying "Don't cry, don't be sad. You were there when I came into this world. But now it's time for me to go. You'll live on without me. Take care, and never forget". It's the first time I've ever heard this music and it's bringing me to tears as I'm typing this. One of the best OS's of all time. You will certainly be missed, 7.
I used Windows 7 to online school back in 2020 after the unextended EOS, at around the same time my older brother (age 11 at the time) played Minecraft on it which I used to watch
Windows 10 Pro sounds like either a bitter end, or an end that was well deserved after going through hell and back for a laborious objective. Like defeating a villian.
8.1 got a lot of unnecessary dislike. 8.1 was a really good OS, and I actually stuck with using 8.1 until 2017. Even though the start screen is not that good for desktops, from my experience, it works well. I actually installed it on one of my old laptops, and it brings me back to a better time.
You dinglenut, Longhorn is a private beta made for the interns at Microsoft, it never and never will release officially other than some builds leaking out to the public, they never released it@@Memberoftheantilikebeggars
Windows XP was the first ever version to ever use in my ever life. It was my dad's first computer who gave it to me when I was 5. Sadly as the years went on the computer started to have some problems like the background disappearing and constantly lagging. Since 2018 I no longer use Windows XP. RIP
I wish Microsoft will supported again windows XP and 7, and making windows 10 end of life date in 2040 or something like that, those are my favourite versions
13:53 i really miss using this operating system it was so much fun to use, but i guess at one point we all need to move on. sucks that microsoft won't be updating windows 7 anymore :(
Fun Fact: Non-Cancelled Windows In This Video Are Still Alive, Just Without Any Security And Can Be Infected At Any Time (except 11, 10, 8.1, and some versions of 7)
i may be a kid but windows 7 was the GOAT. it was my family computer until it ended support in 2020, so we upgraded to 8.1 and when that ended support last year, we upgraded to 11.
Windows 8.1 was all I used for the 7 years. It did pretty well, i can still use it, but there's a catch: The laptop has been broken 2 times, So, i got my other computer (which is a sony computer) with having the same OS but it worked better even though it was an 13-year old computer.
I remember my brother game me his Windows 7 laptop as a gift, I'd play so many games on it and watch a lot of Newgrounds videos, watch little Hot Wheels races and tournaments, and keep up with BFDI constantly. And God, the nostalgia the startup sound gives me... Still sad Windows 7 is gone, it was such an integral part of my childhood.
I miss my Windows 7 😢 This version was all my childhood with my Acer PC! I had a great time playing Purble Place, Mahjong, car games, and pinball games. In 2020, I had to update on Windows 10 but suddenly my old Acer pc dies instantly. We tried everything to make it work again but without success. I got a Lenovo PC with Windows 11, I was able to replay at purble place which represents my whole childhood. But i gave it to my mom because i have a new computer with windows 10. I hope to see this famous version again. Rest in peace, my old friend. R.I.P Windows 7 🕊️ 2009-2020
and 2023: Which the support ends in the current year "2023" because of the Extended Security Updates service for volume licensed Professional and Enterprise copies.
Same... I also miss my Acer PC too, it's just like my longtime childhood friend... Eventhough I cannot upgrade to Windows 10 due to some issues, I can still use my old Windows 7 computer normally.. But as the time goes on, the PC cannot boot up properly and at 31st December 2022, my monitor finally died in front of my eyes... :'(
Just around 2 years ago, My sons computer was running Windows 10 but my husband runs on Windows 7. Later just a few days pass and also pass the Windows 7 shutdown date of 1.14.2020, My son told me my husband that he had to upgrade. A few days later, he upgraded. In this year, My husband changed monitors.
@keith go windows 7 is totally dead it's official support technically ended in 2015 but only for feature releases, so they could just put those features in Windows 8.1
In my opinion, Windows 7 was the best and most loved operating system.Too bad support ended 4 years ago on January 14, 2020.When I installed the first version in 2010, after Windows XP support ended on April 8, 2014, I decided to install Windows 7 because I was tired of XP anyway, I Still had 4 years of support, but when I switched to Windows 7 especially the design and start key,but everything seemed sensational. On January 21th 2020 I ditched Windows 7 due to end of support ☹️even though I used it for so long I switched to Windows 11.I won't cry for Windows 7 it was the best OS and will remain a legend forever.I greet you with respect from Romania🇷🇴👌
Agreed. I don't want 11 and hate that people will have to constantly switch between operating systems again instead of just updating a single one and moving on with whatever they were doing. Windows 10 was supposed to be the final version, wasn't it?
I didn’t think you could be emotionally attached to an OS. Until I watched this. When you’re an overweight, gap-toothed, socially inept, pre-teen who’s last move of the day was usually getting bullied on the bus… the flick of the CRT power switch really was like hugging a friend. It’s sad to see it that way now, sure. But at the time… the windows 95 chime put a smile on my face. I had some really great teachers and friends that knew my struggles (probably more than me) that would sneak me pro-level software packs. My mom would usually say yes to small Staples purchases like ram, cables, some cards, etc. My (no internet) homework machine was probably worth like 10k at the time, if anyone would have stolen it 😂 God bless those people and that little chime. I am a smarter person with some very fond memories because of it.

After 3 years of windows 7 I finally upgraded to windows 10 and I don't regret it. But this gives me so much nostalgia now :((( My dad still uses Vista for some reason. I'm not gonna tell him to upgrade bc when I was upgrading it took me hour. And idk If his pc will even survive.

I wish in some wierd, alternative universe that ME got an OSR, SP, or RC of some sort to increase stability, bring back pure dos mode, and add some sort of file protection, which would have increased support. Wouldnt have been Worth it though for MS
Windows 7 was one of the best operating systems ever created by Microsoft, and I was saddened by the fact that it stopped getting security updates in 2020. I will always miss it, as my old laptop (now broken) had it.
0:23 Fun fact, Windows for Workgroups 3.11 on embedded devices has support till November 1 2008! 0:44 Windows NT Server 3.51 actually loses support on the 31st of December 2002. 1:31 All editions of NT 4.0 doesn't lose support on 2003, The Workstation variet loses support on June 30 2004 and The (Enterprise) Server edition of NT 4.0 loses support on December 30 2004 while Embedded and Terminal Server editon lose support on the 11th of July 2006 and just like with Windows 7, Microsoft provided ESU for NT 4.0 for 3 years, so ESU for Workstation, Server and Enterprise ends on 2007 while support for Embedded and Terminal Server loses ESU support on 2009. 12:50 There is a way to extend Vista's support by 7 years from 2017 to 2024, using Server 2008's updates you cane extend it to January 14 2020, using BypassESU, you can extend it to January 10 2023, if you're part of the azure could program, it could be extended to January 9 2024
It's great to see Windows NT Server 3.51 having support for an extra year, NT 4.0 counterparts having support for 3-4 extra years! Windows Vista ending support in 2024 makes me feel old
Yea, I liked the way it delivered the bleak, almost devoid of hope tone. And the angelic choirs too. So mournful that it can be an good choice for an funeral song. Hit like Kratos skewering himself in the end of GOW III when I had an overall sh-tty teenage life.

Trivia/fun facts:
0:29 Although most 3.1x services had been ended by Dec 2001, some WFW 3.11 versions had still been supported to November 2008, making the lifespan of the software around 15 years (around 18 if we count from 3.00's initial release.)
Server versions of Windows tend to have a longer lifespan on the market compared to commercial versions of Windows.. (although i could be wrong looking at 7 and XP's lifespans.)
The most recent version to end support was Server 2008 on January 9th, 2024 (7 days before I posted this comment.) which lasted an impressive almost 16 years of support.

I really like the BFDI-style design on these OS logos. Has not gained momentum yet, but has lots of potential.

Even if they ended yesterday or 2 decades ago, they have definitely left a mark in the world.

might be enough, i got dizzy when looking at the zeros
Omg those cute facial expressions makes me nodding A LOT
It’s sad to know that as of right now, Windows 8.1 has less than a year of support left and it’s just a ticking time bomb.
I Used It Before But ENDING? I FIRST USED IT IN 2021!
And I still got it, I did get a new computer though.
Windows 8.1 is that old like me

Yeah bro
Longhorn never released and was replaced by Vista

I'm writing this comment from windows 11. Thanks, bro! You gave me that good memories. I like windows XP and I used to use PC with windows 7
Windows XP was the first ever version to ever use in my ever life. It was my dad's first computer who gave it to me when I was 5. Sadly as the years went on the computer started to have some problems like the background disappearing and constantly lagging. Since 2018 I no longer use Windows XP. RIP
I had Windows NT 4.0, my second computer was a Windows 2000.
I had Windows 8.1
I had to XP on Acer Aspire one
I had windows 7 but sadly next year will stop working:( i will use the max possible right now
Edit: i have too a 8.1
i had windows XP with the pentium D610
Windows 7 & Xp you will never be forgotten And for my case windows 8.1 as well
A moment of silence for the operating systems we lost
This is almost like watching the credits of a video game with a sad version of the theme playing

The longhorn one felt like a choir was singing.
I actually cried looking at these guys faces and hearing the music

RIP Windows 7, You will be forever loved but always missed
The Windows sounds must change to have these sounds when it ends support. It will be very emotional 😢
It’s like it’s on its final battery on its deathbed telling us users goodbye for the final time…
I wish Microsoft will supported again windows XP and 7, and making windows 10 end of life date in 2040 or something like that, those are my favourite versions
Windows 10 end of support is October 15th 2025
As an object show fan, I never knew someone could combine object shows with Windows

Fun Fact: Non-Cancelled Windows In This Video Are Still Alive, Just Without Any Security And Can Be Infected At Any Time (except 11, 10, 8.1, and some versions of 7)
Ti my Knowledge the last versions of 7 and 8.1 are gonna lose support in 2023, though 10 and 11 are good for the foreseeable future
Uhhh, lol
Stop saying the updates are so essential. It's mostly up to the user to keep the PC safe. I still use 7 and I am fine
@@Sebulba2000 im not saying that
Yeah my pc runs windows xp
Windows XP also got a security update in 2017, meaning Windows XP also had support even after it died.
i may be a kid but windows 7 was the GOAT. it was my family computer until it ended support in 2020, so we upgraded to 8.1 and when that ended support last year, we upgraded to 11.
I actually still have Windows 7 running on a computer I own physically.
I don't think I'll be upgrading it lol
Man... The Windows 2000 shutdown must have been depressing.
Yeah I almost grabbed a shotgun and blew my head off
@@ardude5why did I laugh so hard at this 💀
The reg 2000 is still normal
I miss my Windows 7 😢
This version was all my childhood with my Acer PC!
R.I.P Windows 7 🕊️

support technically ended in 2015 but only for feature releases, so they could just put those features in Windows 8.1

Let's pray that Windows 10 gets more years of support
Yep
Agreed. I don't want 11 and hate that people will have to constantly switch between operating systems again instead of just updating a single one and moving on with whatever they were doing. Windows 10 was supposed to be the final version, wasn't it?
@@TheAbyssalEnderlingI honestly think Windows 11 is better

ok, but it's the same thing repeated over and over
I didn’t think you could be emotionally attached to an OS.
My (no internet) homework machine was probably worth like 10k at the time, if anyone would have stolen it 😂
God bless those people and that little chime. I am a smarter person with some very fond memories because of it.
When I first started reading your comment I thought this was a hate comment towards me lol
I get the same feeling about the more recent operating systems (specifically XP and 7, since people done like the new-new ones as much)

Sad.
You can still run Windows 7, it just won't receive any more updates. Even ESU ended.
